One thing I can't get my head round though is an 'orange'? day? Before we only had red/green and couldn't mix the two - how does that work?

Looking forward to getting to know you all

Extra Easy is fairly simple, just green free food + red free food and only 1 HEA and HEB (rather than 2 allowed on green and red days)
Your consultant will explain it all tonight at the new members table!

    confused57 so glad i could help :o

With extra easy the main rule is that a third of your plate must be "superfree" i.e fruit or veg. As long as you have this then you can eat the free red and green stuff.

Thanks for the info re eating more ss foods maman and whoever the other person was. Last night after reading your message DH brought me a banana, a box of lychees and a clementine to eat before bed to up my fruits but then when I ready the book lychees and bananas are not ss foods.

I also got a shock reading about yoghurts that are 5 syns. So now I know about checking them too.

beasygirl I think it is that time of the year when it becomes more difficult and we crave comfort foods. And WI doesn't help. I would have a cup of tea and pick something up to put on my saucer so it looks like I am eating and then you can politely say 'no thanks' and won't be put under pressure.

You can do SW you know and you have lots of support on here so please don't feel down hearted. :)

    Today's plan is
    28g porridge HE b
    redcurrants ss
    apple

    lunch
    tinned mackerel in tomato sauce
    lettuce
    tomato
    pepper
    57g spelt bread. (6 syns)
    satsuma

    dinner
stirfry chicken breast and vegetables (pepper, carrot, broccoli, onion, garlic, peas) with rice

250ml semi skimmed milk HE a

I have to eat at bedtime to take my tablets so usually have my horlicks (5 syns) and either a ryvita from breakfast allowance and a fruit. I eat a lot of bananas so am thinking of cutting down on them. My meds that I take at 8pm make me very hungry and after that is my most difficult time of day.

  • I had my weigh in yesterday and lost 1lb, so that is 5lb in 2 weeks :T

I have been quiet organised today as I know I won't be home early as my dd has a tap lesson so I have already cooked my jacket potatoes and prepared my salad so when I get home tonight I just have to re-heat the potato. If I don't do this I will be tempted to grab any food.

    Stay on the tank everyone.

Just came on to catch up with the messages and see how everyone is doing. Been at SW for 4 weeks now and yesterday was my ds birthday - so I had some cake, which was fine, had planned for that - BUT, we had some packets of 'party food' in the freezer that I hadn't used at Christmas time, so we cooked that - YUK YUK YUK!! - to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of that sort of food before I started SW, but now I can't stand it - I honestly couldn't wait to get back on SW today and back to healthy food!

Never thought I'd be saying that lol.

OMG! How ignorant was that particular poster? On SW you have to eat at regimented times, so her friend had stopped eating out altogether because she couldn't be sure dinner would be served at 6pm? !!!!!!? So shift workers wouldn't be catered for, or busy mums, or people who work.....
I have a 'friend' that i don't like going out for dinner with either....maybe i should use that excuse too? :D:rotfl:

Lunch was yummy, SW chips(2 syns for olive oil), 85g bacon (B) chopped and fried in 1/2tsp oil(1), 63g low fat cheese(1.5A) melted over the chips and bacon.

Have had nearly 1 litre of water already. Aim to drink 1.5 litres per day.

Have a melon that needs eating so i'll chop that up and have a big bowl when i'm hungry.

I've got a taster evening too. I'm thinking of making the pea soup that's online, but I don't know if that's really suitable? In the past I've made fruit skewers which went down well, but it was expensive.

I think I'm going to end up not taking anything again. I go straight from work so it has to be something that doesn't have to be made fresh or eaten warm (unless it can go in the microwave).

My last consultant just used to bring in jars of pickles to taster evenings where she couldnt' cook: eggs, gherkin, sweet pickled onions, pepperdew peppers etc - it was great, we had the opportunity to try them without buying a whole jar which if disliked would have sat in the fridge unloved for a few years! Might be an idea?

I had something similar - SW chips with 42g low fat cheese and half a tin of baked beans! delish!

    Afternoon all

I'm still feeling ill :( and I've got a date tonight!! Grrr. I'm meant to be at uni this afternoon but I'm not going as I want to get some rest and hopefully feel better for this evening (naughty I know, but I'm not missing much at uni!).

    Green day:

B - oats (HEB), FF yog
    L - jacket spud, LF coleslaw (3syns), cheese (HEA x 2)
    D - pasta n sauce, cheese (HEB)
    Snacks - banana, pear, orange
Drinks - diet coke, fizzy water, squash, coffee, wine (6syns)
Exercise - wore toning boots for half a day

    Total syns = 9

I'll only have the wine if I do go out on the date, and may fit in a few more fruit snacks or some jelly for 0.5syns

    Have a good day all
