Hope your feeling a bit better today TIE & Dizzy x

:A One of my colleagues asked me if I'd lost weight today :D She joined us in Sept and since then I've lost 21lbs! it doesn't normally show on me when I lose a small-ish amount cos I'm quite big, so I was very pleased with that!!

I'm not feeling very well today - feel like a cold is coming :( but I've stuck to plan.

What a great loss, and what a lovey colleague you have.. that must have made you grin like a cheshire cat :D well done.

Picklepud - a stone in 3 weeks is fab, well done :T
I'm not keen on mashed swede myself (also it takes ages to cook, like carrots) - have you tried butternut squash as an alternative? You don't even need to remove the peel really, it softens up. Mix in some butterbud granules and some black pepper, luvverly.

i loooveeee butternut squash, i have it mashed or roasted. The swede was an experiment cos i told OH that i would start to try new foods and we used a SW recipe without tweaking it.. Family Feast for a fiver cook book - Spicy mince and swede mash - the mince bit was nice:o at least i tried :rotfl:

    Food today - green day

    B - baked apple, yogurt(HEB)
L - Potato salad (new potatoes, quark, spring onion)
T - Chicken pasta bake (HEB chicken HEA cheese)
    S - crisps (4.0) satsumas, grapefruit

I have some syns left but i had some sneaky prawn crackers last night that worked out about 6 syns so i'm catching up from that!

    Have a good y'all x

    Morning slimmers!

Well I have an unusual problem - almost unheard of for me! after having my synful spar shop lunch, I completely lost my appetite  And I mean completely - couldn't face my tea, or even fruit or a snack, so my grand sum of eating yesterday was 2 alpen light bars for brekkie, the breakfast wrap, mini cheesecake and packet of monster munch for lunch, and that was it - nothing between 2pm and bedtime! Now whats that all about?
Its carried over to this morning, but I've just had weetabix for want of getting something inside me - didn't want it and didn't enjoy it!

Only reason I can think of for this is I am feeling a bit lurgy-ish (and very much trying to use will power to at least put it off until after tomorrow's exam! ;)), so maybe that's affecting me - either that or something chemical in the junk lunch yesterday - what do you guys think? I've only ever experienced the opposite - junk makes me want more junk usually! :o

    Morning all,

Guns I hope your DD is OK.

Sending out healing vibes to all who need them... sounds like there are far too many bugs going round out there right now.

Beasygirl - I think we can all relate to how you're feeling. It can be such a struggle to get back into it, and staying on it. Usually we say to treat every new day like Day 1, but how about taking that a step further, and see if you can stay on plan for the morning, then see if you can do it for the afternoon, and then try to do it for the whole evening. You'll feel a huge sense of achievement if you do. The key thing for me is to plan my meals for the day ahead, preferably the night before. If I know what food I'm meant to be eating, then I don't just open cupboards/fridge wondering what to have, which can lead to me eating the wrong things. Make sure you work snacks into that daily plan, so that you don't feel hungry or deprived. Crucial for me is to make sure there is very little around to tempt me. I'm quite good at seeing foods for the children as something I cannot touch, so their packed lunch bits are safe!

I think I may make today a red day, which I think I've only had once before, so it'll be a bit of an experiment.... please point out if I'm doing anything wrong!

B - ff yogurt, plum, nectarine (late! just about to have it)
L - SW quiche, chicken, satsuma, ketchup (1.5 syns)
D - h/m savoury mince (full of sf veg), 225g baked potato [HeB], 1tsp butter (1 syn), l/f cheese [HeA] green beans, carrots.
Snacks - hifi bar [HeB], Shape dessert (5.5 syns)
    Milk in teas [HeA]

    2 A/B's and 8 syns

Have a great day all! :D

I've got WI tomorrow and I feel not going, its taster evening as well and I simply havent got the time to make something. I've just lost all motivation this week, I've stopped using the Wii and am ashamed of my eating habits this week :(

I've got a taster evening too. I'm thinking of making the pea soup that's online, but I don't know if that's really suitable? In the past I've made fruit skewers which went down well, but it was expensive.

I think I'm going to end up not taking anything again. I go straight from work so it has to be something that doesn't have to be made fresh or eaten warm (unless it can go in the microwave).

Also, find something to do in the evenings when you usually graze that will occupy your hands - a puzzle or some knitting...? or even just have some tic tacs or chewing gum (or brush your teeth!) the minty taste will help stop your cravings

I brush my teeth really early in an evening! It really helps stop you wanting food as it wouldn't taste right.

...must stay out of the WW threads.....they annoy me too much.....can't help but reply arrrrgh!

OMG! How ignorant was that particular poster? On SW you have to eat at regimented times, so her friend had stopped eating out altogether because she couldn't be sure dinner would be served at 6pm? !!!!!!? So shift workers wouldn't be catered for, or busy mums, or people who work.....

Skint, I've had something fairly similar happen to me lately. I find I only really want to eat now when I am feeling really hungry, or my belly is grumbling away (like it is now because I've not had b/fast yet). I can quite safely wander in/out of the kitchen, or even bake cakes all day, and not feel the need to graze constantly, which is how I always was before.

I don't find I'm tempted by food (although whoever it was that mentioned croissants earlier on almost made me dribble), or am even that interested in it. It could be partly due to the fact that most of the food in the house is healthy, or within plan, and also the fact that I have a mental plan already in my head of what I can have today, so I know I'm not going to be going without anyway. Also, if I'm mega busy, my mind isn't on food now, whereas before it would have been in tandem with a stressy day, so maybe my cravings are under control, and your's too? Just make sure you do take on board some healthy foods, especially if you're feeling a bit under the weather (says she in her mummy voice!).;)

That's what worries me!! I can't sit back and watch her post all those inaccuracies. I wouldn't say anything if what she said was true, but not being able to eat fruit and only eating at 3pm and 6pm

Hi everyone, room for a little (I wished !) one ? Have defected from another well known slimming club (not saying which one ! hahahah) but suffice to say, it's not working for me.

I've done SW before (years ago!) and going to go tonight to get all the things I need. It will suit us as a family better too (trying to eat fairly cheaply and cook from scratch most of the time) :D.

One thing I can't get my head round though is an 'orange'? day? Before we only had red/green and couldn't mix the two - how does that work?

Looking forward to getting to know you all

  • HI ALL,

Thanks SO much BETTY for your comments. I have been SO LOW for a while now but as you say it's now February and we can both make a new start!!! I had a good day yesterday so I now feel a bit more positive, hope you do to! Hop on Dizzy's wagon.

We both know this plan works, so let's make it work for us.

To all the losers - very well done.

All the sickies - hope you all feel better very soon.

    xx

I won't attempt a full explanation as there'll be someone along soon who can do it succinctly I'm sure. Briefly, there is a new system called Extra Easy and in my opinion it's just that. I believe ('cos I've never done Red/Green days) that it requires much less weighing and measuring. I'm a convert! When you go tonight the Consultant will probably only talk about EE. In fact it's rarely called orange that's just the colour coding in the booklets. Good Luck!
