Hi. I posted on here last week about how I am trying to encourage my family to do Slimming World and asking for recipes and you all gacve me a lot of good ideas so thankyou very much :) As I say, it was last week so I wont quote as I wont be able to find them this thread moves so fast lol. I cooked a SW world friendly meal yesterday and everyone enjoyed it.

I am starting the 'diet' tomorrow and think I've got it all figured out the only thing I am unsure about is how to decide whether it will be Green day or Red day (not doing EE). If I could plan my meals that would be ok but as I live with my parents it is hard for me to plan dinner, so how can I go about this? Also, could anybody tell me if the menu below is suitable to SW?

    Breakfast: 2 egg omlette
    Snack: Hi Fi bar, apple
Lunch: Wholemeal roll, chicken breast and lettuce. Kitkat, apple
Dinner: Chicken curry made with light coconut milk, rice
    Options hot choc, banana

    Is this a red day?

Hope you feel better soon Dizzy, sounds worse than mine and that was bad enough :(

    Have eaten better today:

    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
    L - mugshot, quiche [1], bbq sauce [1]
T - pasta bake with onions, mushrooms, baby corn, toms, cauliflower, passata & cheese [a+b] [made a mahoussive one and only me ate it so guess what I'm having all week :o]
Snacks - pineapple, melon, pear, onken, meringue [2.5]
    Syns - 4.5

Saw summat a while back about oily supplements like evening primrose being syns. Well I have taken them for years and never syned them. It hasn't affected my weight loss enough to make me syn them either. Same with tom/garlic puree, have never syned that either. I think that the amount you eat, its not worth synning. Just my opinion though :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Tonight's WI was a success - lost 2lbs, so that's 8.5 now! Happy happy bunny :) Got my son's birthday tomorrow so will have to cut back a bit on syns for the rest of the week, but that's okay.

Oh, and to anyone else who wonders if Dyno-rod soup lives up to it's name?...yes, yes it does lol.

And hope you're back feeling better soon Dizzy :)

My first ever weigh in tonight and was so surprised to have lost 1lb!
It doesn't sound much but considering iv been living in a hotel for the past 2 weeks, and ate out at Chiquitos, Frankie & Bennys, Pizza Express, a Thai restaurant AND Starbucks I'm feeling very pleased!
I knew I should have joined AFTER my 2 weeks working away but I'm very impatient and wanted that slimming world green file, and to know the secrets to losing weight there and then!

Well now my cupboards are stocked with the right things and I'm sooo ready to get this going!

So my kick start, kick !!! day had been: Extra Easy:
    Breakfast:
2 poached eggs, baked beans on 2 slices Hovis wholemeal (HEB)
    banana,
    Lunch:
    Mugshot with Quorn pieces,
    4 mikado (2)
    clementines x2
    Tea:
SW chips, SW lamb burger recipe (minus the bun), salad, SW coleslaw recipe (1)
    Snacks:

Well done! Brilliant start for you :)

The dynorod is nice and I like to add some chilli powder and cumin to it to spice it up a bit. As for the scan bran - I tried it on it's own and it's horrible! (and I usually like that sort of thing). I have yet to try it in any recipes though, so it might be okay for that.

I'd say you're a bit short on Superfree. Yo have some superspeedy (peas and beans) but you need more superfree than an apple and 2 satsumas. Ideally at least a third of each meal or if you cant manage that a third across the day.

I have to confess to abusing a potato this evening:o DH was having cheese and crackers and I really wanted something savoury. Beetroot and cornichons didn't hit the spot. It was only a small potato (about egg size) and a few sprays of frylight but it made lovely crisps;) Generally I don't tweak the plan and I'm cross with myself but I did enjoy them.
  • This is just a quick visit as I'm getting ready for work, but have lost 3 lbs this week! Have now lost over 1 stone in 4 weeks :j.
