    Hello again :)
I decided last Thursday to follow, exactly, a diet plan in the last SW magazine. I was absolutely stuffed and could not manage everything listed. After 3 days I weighed and have gained weight. My stomach definitely feels larger too. :( Has anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong? I am becoming frustrated now as I was sure that if I followed the diet I would lose something. WI for me is Thursday and I do SW online.

    Hi all,

I'm back with a vengence now my arm is free of plaster if not completely healed. It's still sore and aches from time to time.

Does anyone have any ideas for how I can tone up my tummy without doing the plank or sit ups? I dont want to risk either as my wrist is still so weak.

could you try reverse sit ups? where you lie on the floor and lift your legs and butt up - arms stay still on the ground

but i tend to keep my head on the floor cos i have a bad neck

    Afternoon all

Dizzy -hope you are up on your feet again soon Mrs.... get snuggled under the blankie and sleeeep ;)

Shala_moo, I started sticking the grapefruit in front of my meals a couple of weeks ago when I gave EE a go, it was mainly to make sure I got extra superspeed in and because it means I eat less at meal times (I have it about 30mins before my meals so it has time to register in my brain that I have eaten) -BUT I have read that grapefruit is said to help with weightloss .. and well, if it doesn't its no hardship as I love grapefruit :p
Poohbear- do the meal plans give specified quantities of everything? if so it could just be that you need to tweak the portions to suit. I know that you need specific amounts for your Healthy extras -but you could use less meat/carbs... Im doing hotpot tonight and I will divide my portion in 2 even though I have only used 1 thin lamb leg steak as I can no longer manage a full one... Im finding this with most meals now,
If you are feeling bloated and uncomfy then something isn't suiting you -if its not the portion size perhaps you could make a note at the end of each meal/day how you feel -it could be that certain foods are to blame ;)

Well I have turned my chicken carcass into chicken and sweetcorn soup -hubby will be soooo happy as he loves it :D, the hotpot is done and just needs flicking on as we leave to shop so the potatoes will be lovely n crispy when we get back and then its just a case of flicking on the steamer... job done :T
right I will get off again... have a lovely day all and hope those poorly ones are better soon :D

Your tomato pasta sauce sounds interesting - does it make it look & taste like a creamy pasta bake sauce you can get in a jar?
I have not got the foggiest, I have never had one of the pasta bake jars, my ex used to make this and I have not had it in about 6 years since he left lol

You can eat 3 cooked meals a day if you wanted too :D just make sure theres lots of superfrees included and you can't go wrong.

Thnx hun, well I have salad or superfree veg with virtually every meal anyway so hopefully I have not done anything wrong, it's hard getting used to eating so much but (hopefully) still loosing weight x

Glad your pain has gone, hope you get sorted soon, right I need to get down the tip on the way to taking DS1 swimming, I feel like a proper Mum! lol :o
  • HI ALL

Good to see Dizzy back, sorry you feel rubbish, get well soon cos I for one have fallen from your famous wagon big time and really need a boost.

I just can't get back into the plan since Christmas and it's really getting me down, I know there's only me can do it but I just can't stop eating. Thing is I'm not really enjoying the food cos I feel so guilty all the time but it makes no difference - sometimes I really feel full but still can't stop!!!!

I really need any help I can get.

Well done all you losers and welcome to all the newbies - this plan does work, don't take any notice of my moans!!!! xx

ooh i love cauldron falafel - are they high in syns? I was thinking of making falafel from scratch (I've got an Ainsley Harriot 'low fat' recipe somewhere) - i think it's just whizzed up chickpeas, spices and a bit of egg to bind it....

1.5 syns per piece for the normal ones and 1 syn per piece for the moroccan ones. Which is unfortunate because i don't like the moroccan ones. I love them, just bought 3 more boxes:D

I've not been on this thread for ages but I'm doing SW :D
This falafel recipe is syn free and dead easy to make :)

    Falafel

8oz dried chickpeas soaked for at least 48 hours (or use a tin)
    1 onion finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic crushed
    1 level tsp cumin
    1 level tsp ground coriander
1 small red chilli deseeded and finely chopped
    1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
    2 tbsp chopped parsley
    ¼ tsp baking powder
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
    Frylight for spraying

If using dried chickpeas drain and rinse well or drain and rinse tinned.
Put the drained chickpeas in a processor with the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, chilli and herbs and process until smooth.
Stir in the baking powder and seasoning.
Transfer to a bowl and chill for an hour.
Take small pieces and shape into balls then flatten slightly.
Place on a tray sprayed with frylight and bake in a pre-heated oven at 2200C Gas mark 7 for 12-15 minutes until crisp and golden.
A bowl of low fat yoghurt flavoured with fresh mint and chopped chilli makes a good dip to go with them.

    Enjoy!

Thanks:D I'll definitely give that a go. Mmmm, syn fee falafel:)
