Good morning all from a VERY cold me... tis sooooo cold.....

A quick one from me as Im dashing out in a moment ..sooooo

well done on the losses :T
    Congratulations Skint-Catt :T

Im reporting in with another 1lb gone :j... Im happy with that as apart from the walk yesterday I did NO exercise all week ... and now hubby thinks I have tendonitis in my right achilies.. all I know is that it bloomin hurts  - I have had a dull ache all week -hence no exercise -but me thinks me aggrevated it yesterday trudging up n down hill *oooopsy*(we went on a 2hr trundle through the woods-very hilly it was too -but I loved it...) ... that side is weaker anyhow as I once got hit with a sheet of glass there and ended up with 32 stitches and damage to that area -so its a wee bit dodgy
Anyway -on to a new week and Im thinking of mixing n matching the plans this week ;) -well I can't have my body knowing what is coming can I :p

so then -today will be RED and should look like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fruit
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • 227g jacket potato (B)
    • cottage cheese
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomato
    • red/yellow/orange pepper
    • onion
    • tickled cabbage
    • tickled beetroot
    • mixed berries
    • activia (2.5)
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • salmon fillet
    • 1/4tsp oil (0.5) -to stir-fry
    • carrots
    • onions
    • peppers
    • mushrooms
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fibre plus (B)
    • berries
    • activia (2.5)
    • lychees
so then I make that 2A+B and 5.5 syns .... it seems going back to red-seems much more to eat
well I had better get off as we are having a ride out to the naafi as they have swapped there yankee candle offers over and they have strawberry frosting and fresh cut flowers on offer at 2 for €25 (and I haven't got any of those YET :p) -ooohh and they have my "cherry blossom" which I love -and I only have 1 spare stashed -so I "might" be a little naughty and get 2 of each :rotfl:
When I get back I need to get on with making some more jewellery bits n bobs.... I should have a decent stash soon....just hope I can sell them
right -of I go for now.... have a lovely day everyone and keep up the great work....

Tickled beetroot and Tickled cabbage is that a German recipe?

    Hi all,
New to this post but not new to Slimming World!!!!!
Interested in the Dyno rod soup recipe could somebody either repost it please or direct me to the thread number.
Many thanks and keep at it - Sundays are a difficult day, too much temptation!

    Welcome Sandypan,

Dynorod soup is known as the 12 Speed soup at Slimming World, here's the recipe again for anyone who's not seen it before:
Speed food Soup AKA - Dyno rod Soup
(syn free on Green and EE)

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)
Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

    Freezes well and tastes great!

You can adapt the ingredients as you want, putting in any out of date, bendy, or tired looking vegetables in the pot. I shove everything into my slow cooker, and leave it to 'brew' all day. It tastes lovely, and all my children love it - even the ones who don't like vegetables! I recommend adding plenty of seasoning to your taste, and I swear by using Marigold bouillon in mine, because it has such a lovely taste. If it goes a bit too thick when blended, just thin it out with a bit more stock.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • Gunsandbanjos - I wish my dd's would let me lay in bed. I wake them at 6.45am on school days and they are both still asleep and on weekends when we could all lay in they are both up even earlier and want their breakfast

Takeiteasy - hope you are feeling better soon.

My 2nd WI is on Tuesday morning, I had one bad day so far this week but have been on plan 100% apart from that although this week is my * week so I hope I have lost.

    Keep up the good work.

    Hi everyone :)

    Just checking in ;)

Here's my foodie diary for the weekend:

As we like a glass of vino at the weekend I was super duper good food wise:

    Saturday:
B: Bacon x2, poached egg, baked beans, 1 wholemeal toast
L: HM soup (parsnip, carrots, onion, red pepper, curry powder)
T: Fillet steak, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, SW chips

1.5 glasses of wine (12 syns)

    Sunday:
B: Weetabix & chopped up banana (my new favourite!)
L: SW quiche (bacon, tomatoes, onions, potato) & baked beans
T: Pork casserole (in slow cooker now) & mixed veg (packet mix so 1.5 syns for my share)

I went over my syns on Thursday which had a knock on effect and now I feel I must be positively angelic until WI this week :A

    Watch this space!

Get well poorlies, well done losers and have a good weekend everyone :j

alisont that sounds horrendous! Were you starving afterwards??

I was! I tend to not expect much being vegan at hotel restaurants but it was such a poor effort last night - not just us but nearly everyone had problems there by the looks of it. I had had some pasta/vege at lunch but had not eaten since 1pm so I was very hungry but kind of went past eating/needing food really. So glad I did not eat bread or open the wine - would of gone straight to my head!

Also a good job my friend who gave me a lift home is on SW too - meant we avoided dashing to the chippy!

I'm amazed I was not more hungry as one friend got her meal ok - luckily was fish so not something that would tempt me.

I was glad of my choc weetabix on return!

Have had lunch at a little Chinese cafe today - my sweet n sour veggie 'mock' soya chicken and rice dish was served steaming hot within 5 mins of ordering - big difference!

Alisont - i admire your willpower, i'd have been straight to the chipshop! We only went to A&E for an hour last week (nothing serious - my OH tore a muscle at the gym) and i used it as an excuse to get chips as i was so stressed!! :o

I haven't posted this weekends food, its not worth it. But i'm spending the evening meal planning for the next couple of weeks as I'd like to lose a stone before my birthday in March.

Best of luck everyone for the week ahead..

  • The quantities are a bit vague as I was experimenting, but will definately make this again:

Thai green curry paste (2 heaped tablespoons) estimates 3 syns
    frozen sweetcorn - lots!
vegetable stock cube, and a kettleful of water
    1 chopped onion
1 large potato chopped very small (too cook quicker)
    1 red 1 green chilli
1/2 tin coconut cream (20 syns! Hence why I didn't use the full tin ;)) - light coconut milk is much less syns and I would have used the whole tin)
6 syns for 250ml semi skimmed (ish)
    garlic
    1/2 red pepper
chopped spring onions - add once served to garnish.

Basically add all the ingredients, cook, whizz in blender, served with chopped spring onion, and voila! Posh soup! :D

29 syns for the whole lot, it has made loads, so I'm counting 5 syns per bowl, but will update how many bowls it makes if anyone wants me to confirm!
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

Just reading in my veggie living magazine about a new veggie/vegan burger bar type place in London called Otarian- website is great - wont post it as way too many nice food pics and it's too tempting! What is good is that they post the nutritional info for each dish - so with the syns calculator it would be easy to work out what to have before hand.

Choc mousse on there had 46g fat in a tiny portion:eek: interesting to see the average fat/cals in some dishes I use to eat on a regular basis like veggie burgers/fries/puds - what a greedy one I use to be pre SW:o I found some food photos from meals out pre SW - scary portion sizes/fatty food!

I'm glad I avoided the veggie restaurant in town today as just seen on Facebook they had vegan sticky toffee pud on the menu - now that I'd find too hard to avoid:o

Been shopping today - nice to be able to buy size 16 in a pair of jeans and some sports trousers - now I've 3 pairs of size 16 jeans I can finally get rid of the remaining 18's to the charity shop:jI'm not keeping them as never going to allow myself to put the weight back on, I just can't.

OMG had a lousy night, back pain got worse and breathing in was agony. Couldn't get comfy all night. Still hurts to breathe in deeply and yawning is a no no. May have to give in and go to Dr.

Well done losers, and hope us poorlies feel better soon.

TIE, I felt like this last Xmas; there was a sharp pain each time I breathed. I was scared as I live alone and frankly couldn't even be bothered getting out of bed to find phone to call doctor ... I went to a&e the next day. It was pleurisy. I was told to take pain killers, lots of 'em. (take Ibuprofen as directed on the pack; alternate with paracetomol as directed on the pack. As they are entirely different compounds you can take them both). Then get yourself to a doctor tomorrow just to check out what it is!!!!

QUESTION PLEASE: (I'll check out minimins too). It's Sunday night now. Our Taste-In is on Tuesday night. I work full time 8.00-5.00. Monday night I get home 6.00 and go out again 7.15pm. When exactly am I going to make the roulade? Can I make the cake bit ahead of time and just do the filling on Tuesday, does anyone know? Merci.:D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
