Good morning all from a VERY cold me... tis sooooo cold.....

A quick one from me as Im dashing out in a moment ..sooooo

well done on the losses :T
    Congratulations Skint-Catt :T

Im reporting in with another 1lb gone :j... Im happy with that as apart from the walk yesterday I did NO exercise all week ... and now hubby thinks I have tendonitis in my right achilies.. all I know is that it bloomin hurts  - I have had a dull ache all week -hence no exercise -but me thinks me aggrevated it yesterday trudging up n down hill *oooopsy*(we went on a 2hr trundle through the woods-very hilly it was too -but I loved it...) ... that side is weaker anyhow as I once got hit with a sheet of glass there and ended up with 32 stitches and damage to that area -so its a wee bit dodgy
Anyway -on to a new week and Im thinking of mixing n matching the plans this week ;) -well I can't have my body knowing what is coming can I :p

so then -today will be RED and should look like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fruit
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • 227g jacket potato (B)
    • cottage cheese
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomato
    • red/yellow/orange pepper
    • onion
    • tickled cabbage
    • tickled beetroot
    • mixed berries
    • activia (2.5)
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • salmon fillet
    • 1/4tsp oil (0.5) -to stir-fry
    • carrots
    • onions
    • peppers
    • mushrooms
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • fibre plus (B)
    • berries
    • activia (2.5)
    • lychees
so then I make that 2A+B and 5.5 syns .... it seems going back to red-seems much more to eat
well I had better get off as we are having a ride out to the naafi as they have swapped there yankee candle offers over and they have strawberry frosting and fresh cut flowers on offer at 2 for €25 (and I haven't got any of those YET :p) -ooohh and they have my "cherry blossom" which I love -and I only have 1 spare stashed -so I "might" be a little naughty and get 2 of each :rotfl:
When I get back I need to get on with making some more jewellery bits n bobs.... I should have a decent stash soon....just hope I can sell them
right -of I go for now.... have a lovely day everyone and keep up the great work....

Well the planned flexi evening and dealing with eating in a hotel was interesting!

Went bowling which was great fun - decided against wine and had half a beer.

The hotel meal was a disaster - sounded a good menu I went for tomato soup which they said they would make from scratch and not add any fat to, then ordered a veggie stir fry which they said would only have a spoonful of oil in, declined the bread and just had water. Basically the food took over an hour to arrive and the soup was cold so we sent it back - took another half hour! Was ok and not fatty/creamy. The stir fry took best part of another hour and was yep cold - and burnt and pretty tastless and oily so I would not eat it, 1 friend got her fish meal, other friend the birthday girl, her pasta dish arrived cold and then at 11pm still had not arrived.

After speaking to the manager we did not pay for anything - a lot of other people in the restaurant were complaining too - never known anything like that!

Real shame as a birthday do.

So my syns covered my beer and went home to eat some weetabix!

  • alisont that sounds horrendous! Were you starving afterwards??

MrsM, get to the docs if its tendonitis - needs some serious nursing if so.

And if you could all keep your voices nice and low today that would help me nicely, I have a bit of a headache turns out mulled wine does not mix well with pear cider.

At least I'm not the only person who burns the pan though. After a good hour since we sat down with our first mulled wine I could smell something, so turned to my friend at the same time as she turned to me - then she realised - she'd left the heat on underneath the remaining mulled wine! Who'd have known wine could leave that much reside when it burnt?! I'm just so pleased its not just me! :rotfl:

I will be on plan today, probs not a very exciting menu as I really do need to buy some more food. It'll be pasta and something, or I'll make some soup.

    Morning:D

DD let me have a lovely lie in, she came through at 10am asking if it was ok if she got up. She had woken and just played in her room:) She is such a good monkey.

So had a coffee so far, hubby made me coffee in bed but put a sugar in it:eek: It was horrid, i took one sip and made myself a fresh one. It was a nice thought though.

No idea what i'm eating today - possibly falafel at some point. I am in love with Cauldron falafel, they are so yummy.

Maybe a quorn burger or an omelette or something for dinner. Will see what i feel like.

  • Starryeyed - PM me your email address, and I will send it tonight.

Skintslimmer - you're right, there's probably nothing related to healthy extras for pregnancy in the files unfortunately. Oh well, the thought was there :(.

To completely change the subject I just had a southern fried quorn burger for dinner - well worth the 2.5 syns! Yum.

I have done, again many thanks. I will raise a glass to you when I reach my target weight, or at least move out of the fat and glued to the couch category

    Morning all!

I have been a very good girl all weekend.... so far anyway! I've had a completely 100% week so far, and am not going to blow it (pardon the pun) on the last day before WI. I was so pee'd off after last week's gain, little as it was, but mainly because I couldn't see anything in my plan to have caused it. So, I have attacked this last week with superspeed/free foods, and if I do too many weeks like this the family are going to attack me because of the effects funnysmiley98.gif

I really don't want to have a repeat performance next week!

    Yesterday's plan was: EE
B - FF yogurt, blueberries, fibre plus bar [HEB]
L - bacon x 3, 2 eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, mixed salad, dressing (1 syn)
D - chicken & bacon w/m pasta with mushrooms, Eat Smart Roasted Veg sauce (3.5 syns)
    Milk - HEA
Snacks - satsuma, Alpen light (3 syns)

    Today's plan is this: Green

B - Porridge [HEB], milk [from HEA], mixed berries & a plum
L - Pasta and Sauce, added mushrooms
D - Baked potato, cheese [HEA], baked beans, 2 quorn sausages, leeks & green beans

If I fancy a fibre plus bar [HEB] mid-afternoon I may have one of those as a snack.

I've yet to have one of the Shape desserts I bought almost a week ago, so might have one of those as a treat this evening. Fortunately my chocolate/sugar cravings are fading now that * is due to finish. Thank goodness for that, it drives me insane resisting, or not being able to eat as much as I want.

Can anyone remind me of the pizza recipe using wholemeal bread? I have Allison wholemeal bread flour in the cupboard, so really need to know if it's a 500g mix of that I use? I will make a h/m passatta of blended veggies with a bit of tomato puree for the base sauce, and have extra low fat cheese, and extra low mozzarella to use for the toppings, along with lean ham, and I might even do some garlic chicken breast on them too.

BTW, I bought some Weight Watchers extra low fat grated cheese in Morrisons last week, and it's pretty good, and I was very impressed that it has a lot less calories and fat, and more protein than Kerry's LowLow.... not that I usually like to promote WW brand (our Consultant mock spits whenever they get mentioned!). Comes out at 2.5 syns per 28g, which is do-able if you're on EE/Red and want to have a sprinkle of cheese incorporated in your day.

OMG had a lousy night, back pain got worse and breathing in was agony. Couldn't get comfy all night. Still hurts to breathe in deeply and yawning is a no no. May have to give in and go to Dr.

Had WI but am dubious about the result it says a loss of .5 from last sundays dubious loss [2.5] but next day said only .5 from previous week and not 2.5. I know I've been ill but have had chinese [twice] and pizza yesterday [HEB for base] then the garlic bread attacked me. So until I'm feeling better I will not believe my scales just keep my eye on it.

Well done losers, and hope us poorlies feel better soon.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Hoping u can help.

My 4 th child is almost 10 weeks and I am struggling to lose weight as I am CONSTANTLY starving! I am breastfeeding and very active and conventional cal counting is not working as I'm so hungry! I want to give sw a go (have done it before) as it should stop the constant hunger (cOs I can constantly eat lol)

Question is: how many extra a/bs for breastfeeding mums on red/green and extra easy x

And how many syns are special k mini breaks cos they r my fav with a cup of tea :) want to start mon sO need to get on and do some planning, if all else fails I have TONS of beans an potatoes lol - must get some beanfeasts - are these still free on both?

natalie, congrats on your recent birth. I've got 4 boys and exclusively breastfed them all, and I agree it makes you starving hungry! I have done a bit of internet trawling to see what I could find out for you, and the info for pregnant/breastfeeding mums seems to be to stick to the main plan, but upping intake of milk. Here's what I found on another SW friendly forum ;):

From the pregnancy slimming world leaflet..........

it confirms that you have to have you midwife consent to attend and that the consultant can't make recommendations about weight change when pregnant - the form is called a 'pregnancy form'

It states to follow standard sw plan but to follow 7 additional guidelines: -

"1. Folic Acid - take supplements as well as increasing dietary intake

2.Liver and Vitamin A - avoid liver, liver products and supplements containing high levels of vitamin A which can be toxic to a developing foetus

    3.Alcohol - limit your alcohol to 1 or 2 units a week

    4. Peanuts - consider avoiding peanuts and peanut products if there is a family history of nut allegies

    5. Fish - limit oily fish to no more than two portions per week

    6. Caffeine - limit your caffiene intake to no more than 300mg a day, because high levels can lead to low birth weight, or even miscarriage.

    7. Other risks - avoid soft unrippened and blue vein cheeses, pate, unpasteurised milk and products. Raw or partially cooked eggs and fods contaning them."

To be honest it doesnt say much else!!

Another contributor on that thread said she'd lost 3 stone during her pregnancy just following the usual plan, avoiding any rubbish foods, and was encouraged by her midwife to use syns on extra milk, or adding an extra HEA to her daily plan. As slimming world is the only diet that the Royal College of Midwives will recommend, it shows that the diet, when followed properly, is providing the appropriate balanced diet.

I lost an average of 2 stone during my last 2 pregnancies, but gained 3 stone after I'd given birth, because my appetite was so voracious! I definitely could have done with a plan like SW to follow, so that I had measured and controlled snacking, and was filling up on free foods. Unlike other plans, like WW, you cannot use up your daily points on eating only rubbish, you have to have balanced meals.

Oh, and Special K Cereal bites are 5 syns a packet, which I thought was a bit high really for what they are, and for how few you get in a pack.

I love my kenwood:happyhear how sad is that! PM me if you want, don't want to hijack the thread with cake talk!! :o I haven't really done much except for starting the business other than set up me website to show people pictures... myself and MIL are trying to do wedding cakes and novelty cakes and the cupcake thing on the side. It's really hard with a full time job and it's really hard to bake cakes when SW- ing!!:(

I'll PM you, it would be good to swap notes. I think my venture is slightly different from the norm, as I'm not aiming for the novelty/wedding cake market as such, and want to incorporate a courier delivery service too... if I can find the appropriate packaging. I'm still unsure of the Kenwood/Kitchenaid debate, and indeed I did dream of buttercream icing cupcakes with fancy petal designs last night :rotfl: That's what you get for watching too many youtube videos of people doing them, and trawling suppliers for about 12 hours a day!

TakeItEazy I hope you feel better soon. It does sound like a horrid virus you have, and hoping Dizzy is feeling much better now too.

Welcome to Mookiepook too, join in the chat and let us know how you get on. :D

I was doing that but think it just depressed me and give me a lil push towards falling off the wagon lol
How have you found your weight fluctuates then?

I thought I'd record it for a couple of weeks to see how it fluctuates. Very depressing thing to do.

I have been filling in the spread sheet since the 18th January, and with only one day to go til the end of the month I find I am 2lb heavier than the start date.

There will not be a February spread sheet!!!!
