Thanks Lil_me, Sarymclary, Dontknowanymore and Skintslimmer for the chip tips! That's 1 (maybe 2) main meals sorted for this week then :D.

Am also going to prepare some mash ready to go, and am working on a plan to make my favourite stew recipe more SW friendly.

Looks like a busy weekend of cooking - not much decorating going to be done unfortunately. My hall walls will be naked for another weekend .

  • If you are able to go to a group (even if its to cheat and just stay for the first class and never to return) they will be able to tell you and you'll get all the up to date books for less than on ebay ;) If not, can you join online? You could alwasy use and abuse it for the first however many weeks you have to sign up to, then go it alone?

Or you could PM someone who has the books in PDF format- as I do  - to email them on to you. Cost: free.

Even though I joined online anyway afterwards, I intially printed all the books out and refer to them often in addition to using the online tools. Also put the PDF files on my kindle, so can take it out with me easily.

Would it be possible to freeze - over night soaked dried cannolloni beans? I hate waste.

i have done but they were cooked first - i did a saucepan full and underestimated how much those and other lentils swell up :-)

30 this is really cheeky but would you mind emailing them to me ?

I am working of a friends book just now but she needs it back and I just can't justify the cost of joining the class.
I have been trying to copy recipes from this and other threads but it is bit of a hit or miss.

Would I be right in thinking local markets would be cheaper for veg and fruit than supermarkets?

May have to flexi today, will see.

So far, had an alpen light(1/2B), coffee (using 0.5A for coffee and tea), apple, FF activia, M&S FF yoghurt, 2x ryvita crackerbread(2).

    Just having a WM roll (B) with a quorn burger(2.5), ketchup(1).

Have made up a box with pasta and HM tomato sauce with 1.5A to take to work, also taking falafel(6), 3 x alpen light (1/2 B and 6 syns) and a kitkat(5.5) and some fruit.

Had both A+B and 23 syns if i eat it all. I know i'm deliberately taking more syns than i should but if i'm hungry at work i will eat food from work which will definitely be more than my daily allowance by a lot more than 8! Plus i'm working at least a 7 hour shift and i'll spend moat of it running around like a loon so should work off my extra 8 syns:)

I am having to move to a flexi evening now as had thought we were going for curry for friends birthday which I can just about squeeze in on syns but now it's changed to a hotel restaurant.

Going to be hard to get vegan food that is low fat me thinks! Dont know what to expect.

Friend spoke to the chef yesterday who said he can do vegan options - he mentioned a non creamy tomato soup or melon for starters so ok there. Mains mentioned were stri fry with sweet chilli sauce, peppers stuffed with cous cous and med vege and pud would be fruit salad and sorbet.

Anyone hazard a guess about syns if it's the menu above, guess they will use vege oil, I will take some fruit to eat as we are going bowling earlier and know I wont last without food until 9pm!

Will set a limit of 2 glasses of wine max but will have diet coke and lots of water as not bothered about alcohol these days.
