just can't manage the sweet stuff :o:o

This is from Minimins the site. I made it last night and just finished it off tonight, even hubby loved it, I flavoured the quark with orange essence, delish. I made it in 2 round cake tins.

    VANILLA ESSENCE (OR ANY)
    FRESH FRUIT

    SEPERATE THE EGGS

ADD THE YOLK, HALF THE QUARK,
BAKING POWDER, SWEETNER AND ESSENCE INTO A BOWL, WHISK TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE.

WHISK EGG WHITE TILL STIFF. WHISK HALF INTO THE MIXTURE THEN FOLD IN OTHER HALF.

USING A SWISS ROLL TIN SPRAY WITH FRY LIGHT ( I PUT GREASPROOF PAPER IN FIRST THE SPRAY SO DOESNT STICK) POUR THE MIXTURE IN AND BAKE AT
    180 FOR 15 - 20 MINUTES. LEAVE TO COOL

IN A DISH ADD REMAINING QUARK ,SWEETNER, AND ESSENCE AND MIX TOGETHER.

REMOVE THE CAKE FROM TIN WHEN COOL SPREAD THE QUARK EVENLY, ADD FINELY CHOPPED FRUIT (STRAWBERRY AND BANANA MY FAVE). ROLL THE CAKE FROM ONE END. SLICE TO SERVE.

THE WHOLE CAKE IS ONLY HALF A SYN AND THATS THE BAKING POWDER. CAN ALSO ADD CHOC OPTIONS SACHET FOR FLAVOURING. WHEN THE CAKE COMES OUT OF THE OVEN IT WILL HAVE RISEN LOADS BUT WILL GO VERY FLAT WHEN COOL LOL I THOUGHT IT HAD GONE WRONG FIRST TIME I MADE IT BUT WAS LOVELY.

I don't know what is wrong with me this week, I have been doing so well up until now.
Now I know that on Thursday I am going to have gained as there is no way enough time to sort this little mess out :o

how much of it have you eaten by the time you read this post?

    What's left:
Bread - go for a walk and feed the ducks :T
Readymeal - can you bear to have half of it at a time with lots of superfree veg?
Yoghurts - My my they are delish :o have you got a family? If so eat one and feed the rest to them?

    How strange.
We were given a Lasagna recipe by our SW leader in Jan last year that was synfree and it told us to use the Macaroni Cheese :( Thanks for the heads up x

You can still do a white sauce with things, you just need to do it a little differently with fat free fromage frais, quark, eggs etc, and be careful because these ingredients tend to split if on a very high heat. The best one I have ever done on SW was a tub of quark mixed with an egg, and heated gently over a low heat until it comes together and thickens up - that one seemed to survive the oven as part of a lasagne, and with grated cheese and mustard stirred in made a scrumptious macaroni cheese sauce.

(I have plenty of good SW ideas, why aren't I at target?? oh yeah, a little thing called syns :o )

Well my day was almost royally scuppered - its been at least 2 weeks since I had a moan about my well intentioned mum, surely its time for another one?! Despite having cartloads of revision to do, mother and father dearest have decided I have the time to visit distant relatives whom I don't even know, who have apparently been asking to meet me for ages. They tell me this last week, when earlier on in my stay with them was the time when I was unable to study much. I mutter about not having much time for it and not wanting to have a meal at theirs, because it wouldn't be very SW. They reassure me its only for a couple of hours, and at worst I might get offered a slice of cake and a cup of tea.

We spent 4 hours there. Biscuits got offered around, and I politely declined, explaining politely and firmly about having to watch my food intake because of the leg, which was accepted. Then, THEN, guess what?! They had made an afternoon tea type of thing - with HM mince pies, ham sandwiches on white, and an enormous HM victoria sponge cake!

I mentally did the maths and worked out a 1/4 sandwich and a mince pie would be about the minimum I could get away with having without causing great offence, and had to bat off offers (Aw gowan gowan gowan gown!) of more sandwiches from both the hostess and my own mother and father! Then the flipping cake was cut and EVERYBODY gangs up on me to get me to have a piece! Especially my mum, who KNOWS how I feel about trying to stay on plan at the moment :( She suggested I have a piece to take home - think she thought I was offending the host (who I don't think was offended, it wasn't like I refused anything and I had damn well set out my reasons for not wanting to eat much beforehand) - so I have come home with a piece of cake which TBH I'm sure is nice but isn't my choice of what I'd spend my syns on - so I shall be telling mother or father dearest to have it for me.

Then we come home and because its late for our evening meal, and sandwiches/cheese & biscuits/ generrally un SW but quick things are suggested! although thank goodness I had a brainwave and managed to snaffle a micro-zapped jacket spud :A which was promptly served by mum with 6 syns worth of cashew nuts in the salad - she could have asked if I wanted, or had the healthy extras left for them! I give up!!!

And I had been soooo looking forward to the fudge as my syns tonight :wall:

So today's scores on the board:

    GREEN

    Alpen bar (1/2 b)
    fritata & HM soup
    milk in t&c (a)
1/4 ham sandwich (I know this is cheating but after the day I've had I'm counting 1/2 of the syns as the other half of my healthy b choice, so 2 syns)
Mince pie (11 syns!) It was nice, but not that nice!
Jacket spud with tuna (b), philly (a), salad (cashew nuts left on side of plate in silent protest)
mullerlight & 2 small chunks of fudge - when I looked and compared it to the description of the size in the book, I think both count as the size of 1, 1 inch cube, so 2.5 for both.

So with the juggling of the 2nd half of the healthy b it looks like 15.5 syns - I guess it could have been a lot worse.

After all that stressing, I'm worn out! 4 days til I'm back home. 6 days til i'm not relying on meals with my family. I might just manage a bit more time spent ON the plan, then! :rotfl:

    Good evening all

Thankfully I have had a good day -did my 30mins step with riser this morning, fettled ome more stuff out, nipped to supermarket and only came out with the odds n sods on my list :j - hubby recycled loads I had sorted today, then dinner (which would have got 3 thumbs up from hubby if he had an extra digit :p) and I have done my 15mins on the biggest loser - so Im catching up here before watching the biggest loser....
Anyhoo Im up for a quick question....
I have done another EE day today and I don't know if it is the TOTM coming or just EE but I don't seem to be getting hungry :undecided so then.. this is what I have eaten...
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • 28g oats (B)**
    • mixed berries
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • 1 ryvita **
    • bowl 12 speed stew
    • 1 activia (2.5)
    • lychees
    • 2 large carrots
    • 1/2 head broccoli
    • small portion Asian aubergine + pork casserole (2)
    • about a serving spoon of rice with peas in
    • frozen blueberies
    • activia (2.5)
    • 2 clementines
    • 250ml semi (6)
Actually that doesn't look so bad now I see it written down :p-but not compared to my usual amounts . I think what worries me is that Im actually having to think "I really should have XYZ" ... does that look ok to those professional EE-ers?
oohh hubby decided to book tomorrow off -so we should be up nice n early for a walk around the golf course ..woo hoo -more wobble burning
Right I had better get off and get some more catching up done....

Well done to yet more losers :j I love being able to call people a loser and it not being an insult :rotfl:

After yet another late night from school [more training] I had the schwartz slowcooker sausage casserole, hmmm was okish but tasted a bit 'earthy' iykwim. Think I may have over cooked it as am still getting used to my SC, my old one was a plug n play with one setting and this one has three so taking some getting used to..

    Anyway food today:
    B - weetabix milk [a] coffee
L - mugshot, quiche [1], toms, melon, activia
T - quorn sausage & bean casserole [2] with onions, mushrooms, baby corn served with pasta
Snacks - pineapple, melon, onken, meringue [3]
    Syns - 6

Polishes halo for avoiding the munchables in the staff room during training :A:A:A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Isn't most of the stuff free at Yo Sushi? As long as you choose seaweed wraps, rice, vegetables and fish/prawns you would surely be ok? I may well be wrong as I don't have a food directory, but frankly I certainly would NOT eat just rice when I am out :D

Hehe, unfortunately I don't like sushi sushi. I tend to eat the hot chicken in sweet sticky sauces mmmmm. I couldn't find them online, but I'm sure the yakitori and teriyaki chicken are not good.

So I've decided I'm going to have a ham and mushroom tagliatelle ready meal (5.5 syns) before I go and then just snack on the rice whilst my partner eats whatever he wants to.
