    Evening all,
I keep waking up in the middle of the night for a wee, which is really infuriating. I've always had my last cuppa of the day at about 8.30pm, now I'm not sure if my bladder has decided that I'm just too old to hang out past 3.15am, or if it's something to do with being on SW. Anyone else have a similar problem since starting the plan?.

I have the same problem, I can't drink anything after 6pm or I'm up in the night. I found even a bowl of fruit in the evenings got me up so I now have that no later than 5pm usually have it when I get in from work. My bathroom is downstairs so by the time I get back to bed I'm wide awake  takes ages to get off again and then the damn alarm goes off so feel like carp the rest of the day . Don't think its connected to SW as I've always been like it, just really notice it more now. Also think having kids weakens everything too :rotfl:. My advice would be to have last drink a bit earlier and see if it makes a difference hths.

Oh, who asked about the HEA cheese on quiche? I count it as syns, it seems to work out about 1 syn a portion tho obviously that depends on your portion size. That way you can more easily keep tabs on your HEA.

That'd be me :D ok will syn it instead of counting it as HEa thanks.

Any thoughts on syning leftovers if you already counted them on the cooking day [iyswim] i.e do you count them again or is it free?

nah, I just count as I eat rather than counting it all on the cooking day. Each to his own though, whatever's easiest for you I should say.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    *cough* :o

    (I bloomin wish) :p

I don't think my day was very wildly off track, really. Yoghurt for brekkie, pitta and houmus, olives and tzaski (sp?) for lunch, roast done the SW way and 3 squares of fudge with a muller. Oh, I forgot about the buttered toast :o

Back studying again tomorrow. Not sure about food plan but since I'm in charge of breakfast and lunch at least, no worries til the evening. The fudge will have to wait until after dinner with a cup of coffee. ;)

I often struggle to know what to have to eat when we come back from evening WI, as it's gone 7.30pm when we come out. I don't fancy doing loads of cooking on those evenings, and do the rest of the family a quick, easy meal before I go, but I don't have to worry about it being SW friendly for them.;) I think I'll plan to have jacket potato tomorrow night... has anyone ever tried doing these in the slow cooker BTW? I just don't want to fill up on rubbish on those nights, just because I'm tired and can't be bothered.

JP in the slow cooker is fine, but I tend to cook a load in the oven and freeze them, then just pop in oven to reheat, seem to come out much more crispy. I would suggest that you make some meals up - eg bolognese, chilli or casserole type stuff and keep in the freezer for the nights you want quick stuff. Omelettes and baked beans work for me on lazy nights.

I didn't get to WI this week as I was soaked through after work and once I got in and dried off couldnt face ging out again, I so hate the dark miserable nights. I've been more or less sticking to plan and feel like I have lost a little bit more, my scales say I have but they were never the most reliable although they show a 3ib loss this week so I'll keep in my mind that I've lost 1ib and anything more will be a great bonus on Wed WI.

As for the middle of the night toilet thing - yes it is definetly SW related, but when I have to get up in the night these are the weeks I have my best losses so every cloud and all that.:T

Well done all you who have lost, and good luck to those that haven't.

I find it easier to have a total number of planned syns for the week and subtract from that as I go. So. working on that basis, once the syns in your quiche have been accounted for that's it. I can't see why you should sort of 'double' count them. I know it's not recommended that we save syns to binge but the syns don't multiply if you eat the meal over a few days:rotfl:I know lots of people who make up soups or pasta salads for work lunches and they just syn the dish regardless of how long it takes them to eat it.

The HE issue is slightly different as you're meant to eat your HEs on a daily basis for health and they can't be carried over. I'd be inclined (as said earlier) to syn all the cheese and have a different HE on the day you make it (or syn the extra cheese IYSWIM).
I'm no expert just trying to be logical about it:)

Morning all! I'm back to working my normal hours as OH is going back on shifts today so I can get back to normal!!! I'm having a green day today and think I may win the weirdest lunch comp today (if we had one that is!!!):

Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B), banana (might manage without the nana)
Lunch - HM veggie soup, leftover SW chips, leftover mushy peas, yogurt, jelly (0.5)
Tea - chicken (HEB) and chorizo stew (will workout syns when I weigh the chorizo later), mash, veggies
Snacks - fruit (but its boring yukky apples and pears......I HATE winter fruit!!!)

Depending on the chorizo syns I might have a small piece of choccy later.

  • Morning everyone.

I tend to have 70 syns over the week instead of 10 per day as some days I have a few more and others I have a few less. This seems to work better for me but I know others have the use them or lose them approach of 10-15 per day - I tried it and I was all over the place.

SC saga - updated - last effort - Beef pepperpot - worked a treat! I think I am getting the hang of it. Today is sausage casserole. It has lentils in it so I'll have to add a bit of water to accommodate them.

    Today - EE
    B - frittata & salad (F) sauce (1)
    L - celery soup / vegg couscous (F)
    D - sausage casserole (2.5) veggies (F)
    Snx - ryvita (B) cheese triangles (A) banana & grapes (F) yoghurt (2)

I made chocolate chickpea cake last night and it was nice.. apart from the fact that I needed to put the full 25g of sweetener - I was weighing it and it seemed loads so stopped... it really was needed. I put some mixture in yorkshire pudding tins then made chocolate quark with white choc options and made them into mini victoria sponges... they we v v v nice. The rest I made in muffin cases with walnuts sprinkled in, cut in half with nutella in between - yummy.

I know it is misuse of food, but as they will be just 1 lot maybe a week I am not synning the chickpeas.

So the cake itself - chickpeas (F) sweetener (F) 3 eggs (F) 1 tsp baking powder (1) choc powder (2). This made 2 victoria sponges (yorkie tins) and 6 muffin type ones. Then just syn the fillings - choc quark (2) nutella 1.5 tbspn (6)

  • Woohoo 2lb off this week!! :j I wanted to lose 5lb per month and I'm on 5.5lb for Jan already :D (I know it will slow down eventually though!). Quite pleased as I did have a meal out Sat night and ice cream at the theatre!

I've also exercised 4 times this past week so stuck to that resolution too :)

I'm the same, I can get up 2 or 3 times a night when I start SW (even worse now I'm drinking green tea too!!). It does settle down after about 2 months with me.
