Hi everyone, my mum has just presented me with a weightwatchers lemon muffin mix, anyone know how many syns per muffin?
um...they don't seem to have it syns online only :

Mini Lemon Cup Cakes, 9 pack, 3 on each...which is obviously something different! sorry hun

only thing I can think to do is to use the 20 cal = 1 syn rule, its not exact - but its as near as dammit usually ;) work out the pack size & then how many it makes

    Evening all,

    _party_:bdaycake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKINTSLIMMER!!! :bdaycake:_party_

    I hope you've had a wonderful birthday.

I've had a day on plan, but I'm still worrying that I'm eating too much at each meal, and wonder if I need to control my portions. Does anyone else have this concern, or do you just eat what you want until you're full?
As a way of gauging what you guys all think, I'm going to give amounts/size of my daily food to see what you think. Do let me know if you think I'm being a piggy, as I don't want the amount of food to undermine my efforts at staying on plan.

    Food today:

    B - 1 apricot, 1 peach, 1 alpen light [1/2 of HeB], 1 ff yogurt
L - 3 slices bacon, 2 eggs, 6 mushrooms sliced, 1 large tomato grilled, 2 tbsp of baked beans
D - 2 chicken wings & some white meat (no skin), 2 SW roast potatoes, 1 tbsp mashed potatoes, 6 florets of broccoli, 2 tbsp of carrots, 1 tbsp peas, gravy (2 syns)
Snacks - 1 alpen light [other 1/2 of HeB], 3 biscotti (3 syns)
    250ml milk [HeA]

So that's both HE's and 5 syns today. I'm not going to up my syns until I get past WI tomorrow night. I like to keep them under 10 to be sure I'm not under calculating on h/m stuff, as I don't have as much pre-packed stuff that's easier sometimes to count.

Back in the gym tomorrow, but I'm seriously concerned I've pulled a muscle in my lower abdomen. I went to turn over to go to sleep last night, and had the sharpest pain, like something had 'popped'. I was scared I'd given myself a hernia, and was going to have something pushing out, but I think it's OK, just very, very sore. I'm going to lay off the ab workout this week, and do more upper core strength exercises after my weights. Which will mean more 'planks' *crosses herself*

I keep waking up in the middle of the night for a wee, which is really infuriating. I've always had my last cuppa of the day at about 8.30pm, now I'm not sure if my bladder has decided that I'm just too old to hang out past 3.15am, or if it's something to do with being on SW. Anyone else have a similar problem since starting the plan?

Ooh, another question: can Shreddies be used as a HeB? Master Sary loves them, but he's not had any since we've been on SW. A 28g portion isn't enough to set him up for a day at school, so he'd like to have them on a green/original day, and have double portions on those days.

I often struggle to know what to have to eat when we come back from evening WI, as it's gone 7.30pm when we come out. I don't fancy doing loads of cooking on those evenings, and do the rest of the family a quick, easy meal before I go, but I don't have to worry about it being SW friendly for them.;) I think I'll plan to have jacket potato tomorrow night... has anyone ever tried doing these in the slow cooker BTW? I just don't want to fill up on rubbish on those nights, just because I'm tired and can't be bothered.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • The slow cooked chicken was awesome - I put the potatoes in the oven to brown off a bit (there was a recipe in the mag for cooking lamb over veg, and the veg were still free), and have allowed some syns for the yummy gravy which I thickened with granules and potato. A very satisfactory tea according to Mr Fitorbust who is sitting with a small kitten stretched luxuriously on his knee!
We are thinking Bertie for the name - it suits him. He does high five on request - how cute is that???
We have done nothing today apart from play with Bertie - he has come to the right home!!

NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
  • Awww shucks you guys, thanks for all the birthday wishes - there's loads! :oHappy Birthday from me too :D
Mobility wise quite good I think thanks, I'm proud of my crutch callouses,:eek::eek: (no comment) and can hop up and down single steps - still think I'll need to be doing proper stairs on my bum for the foreseable future though :o Haven't had a chance to practice that for ages.

Slow cooked chicken is fab isn't it (and it's somehow easier to bin the skin when it hasn't got crispy). Your kitten looks fabulous, I ADORE black and white cats *shielding tabby's eyes from the screen as I write this* Don't they get called Tuxedo cats in the USA?

Well I've had a weekend in London, saw Cirque du Soleil and they were ENTRANCING, EXCITING, SCARY, WONDERFUL. Didn't over do the noshing/drinking either, except for a couple of chocolatey bits. Loads and loads of fruit, I am feeling really quite virtuous!

    Welcome to all newcomers x
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • Oh, who asked about the HEA cheese on quiche? I count it as syns, it seems to work out about 1 syn a portion tho obviously that depends on your portion size. That way you can more easily keep tabs on your HEA.

I always find this happens when i start on the plan again after a period of being off it. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it but i've noticed other people mention it too.. it makes you so tired for the day though doesn't it! :(

p.s. personally i don't think your portion sizes look too big, i know our consultant once said that she has 4 pork chops as a portion and still lost weight(not sure i could eat that many in one sitting myself!!)
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.
