I find the shifts difficult as well, menu planning for the entire week helps a bit. I used to take a lot of sandwiches but dont do that now (probably could if I used up some syns but have this thing about not using them up :-( ) . Pasta salads are useful for work, soups (but I tend not to find these very filling) I tried one of the mugshots the other day at work and was ok but was quite hungry by home time.

I think my freezer is broken:(

A few hours ago i noticed the 'freezer high temp' light on. Checked freezer, seemed ok but turned it up a bit and put the fast freeze on. Light is still on and now stuff looks like its starting to defrost:( I have loads of stuff in my freezer:(

  • Hi, just found this thread and found some useful tips so far.

Re-joined slimmimg world on the 5th Jan aiming to lose 25lb before 31st May.

First week weigh in lost 4 lbs! :j

Major change for me is getting up half an hour earlier to eat a proper breakfast - usually 28g cereal topped with M L yogurt and fruit instead of grabbing something like a chocolate bar or crisps at the newsagents on the way to work!

Keep up the good work everyone!
  • Green day for me:

    B - small banana, pear
L - HM SF spicy carrot and lentil soup, 2 x HM WM bread (2 xHEB), butter (4syns)
    D - Pasta Bake - 2 x Pasta n Sauce, sweetcorn, beans, peppers, cherry toms, 2 x cheese (2 x HEA), salad
Snacks - small banana, pineapple, jelly (0.5syns), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns)
Drinks - coffee, green tea, NAS squash, fizzy water, water

    Total syns = 6

Still have some syns left if I fancy anything after tea and the jelly snack

Hi everyone, congrats on the losses. Happy Birthday as well SkintSlimmer...

I've lost 0.5lb this week. Not the most in the world but i've been celebrating a 30th birthday this week, unfortunately not my own :( so it was a party and meal out with the family. Bit gutted that the meal we had wasn't that nice so i feel cheated out of my syns!!

My OH is now off work for two weeks so he'll be doing the cooking and meal planning (i hope) He's off to the supermarket tomorrow for lots of lovely SW friendly food so we should be able to follow plan easily enough - i just have to take off my control freak head for a while

i'm starting the week with a positive frame of mind anyway.. hope everyone has a good one x

I made this by frying crushed garlic and chopped fresh chilli, with 1tsp olive oil (2syn), then added a tin of crab meat, parsley and some juice of half a lemon, cooked some more then added the cooked linguine, cooked through and served with sliced cucumber with a bit of lemon juice over the top.

    Dinner
Chicken in red wine sauce and garlic potatoes (6.5syn) served with mange tout and baby corn.

    Snacks
Danone fat free yogs, blueberries and strawberries.
