Absolutely famished when I got home from work so had two packets of the Low Fat Chilli Chicken Super Noodles and some ham - whoops! Would usually only have one packet obviously, but should be ok since it's free, right?
Actually I did the exact same thing on Wednesday night. I chopped half a doz baby plum tomatoes to add in with the ham and only used one of the flavour sachets (I'm a whimp with Chilli) but it didn't half hit the spot, yum:pI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Whats a flexi day?
Can't spot an answer from anyone (though I've skimmed the posts today) so here goes:
Imagine you were going to a party. You check out what there is to eat before-hand and work out the syns you would need to consume to be satisfied. You do the same with the alcohol you think you would drink.
Add all the syns together and this is your consumption target for the night. It could be 50, 60 or even 100 syns.....no problem.
During your party, and this is the hard bit, especially if you drink a lot (when caution tends to go out the window, lol) keep a check on the syns you're having. When you reach your pre-decided total, you stop.
Next day, knowing that although you've had a lot of syns, each and every one of them was allowed for, you should have no feelings of guilt. You remained in control and stopped when you said you would.......perfect SW flexible synning :T
One of my members took a small card with her to a party, marked up in tiny squares, each square representing one syn. As she ate and drank, she put a dot inside the square so that she knew at a glance how far into her allowance she was. A bit anal maybebut it worked for her.
Flexi days are there for special occasions and are not intended to be a regular Saturday night jolly or the weight loss will definitely fizzle outI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Alisont and Sweetserendipity - Zumba is FAB!!! I had my first class wednesday night and it was so much fun! Our instructor is so bubbly and fun she makes it such a laugh - not like exercise at all!! It is based on proper dance moves from merenge, samba etc.. There's lots of bum shaking and hip swinging! It really works on your whole body!
In my group its a nice mix of ladies young and old, all different shapes and sizes. Quite a few of us can't do all the steps due to lack of co-ordination but nevertheless it was great!! Our instructor lets us do the moves at our own pace and even make up our own if we can't do the ones she shows us to do! LOL.
I'm definately going back next week! I know you can buy the DVDs but these are quite expensive. I thought attending the group was great fun as you get to meet loads of new people and have a giggle!
Some tips for anyone planning to do it -
Take at least 2 litres of water with you - you sweat a lot!!
Take a towel - again coz you sweat a lot!
Wear really comfy joggers and top - i wore some loose trackies with a vest top
Ensure your footwear protects your foot without being too grippy - you need to slide a bit! I bought some Lonsdale trainers which are great (£16 from Sports Direct - BARGAIN!) - i'll hunt for a pic later to show you the type of footwear that is suitable.
Also don't worry about what others will think - trust me you concentrate on your instructor and your own moves rather than what anyone else is doing!!Vixie_Pixie wrote: »My class is £4.50 a session and our instructor does a Raffle at the end where you can win a free session for the following weekIt may be expensive long term but the way i see it is that i was spending that on KFC twice a week before i started following SW!!
nicely!
Thanks, sounds good fun. I just hope I can find the energy to go back out once home, must get an early tea then go out about 7.40pm for the class. I will take water and a towel.
Don't mind paying if its fun and works - I was spending a fair bit on pringles/wine/beer/choc and cakes plus eating out before SW so £5 for SW and £5 for Zumba or whatever it costs is ok if I'm getting healthy!
I've only got my running trainers to wear - hope those will be ok? Got baggy gym trousers and a baggy tshirt, I don't wear leather trainers so find it hard to get decent ones, my converse won't be supportive enough. Have got a sports direct nearby but am a good size 8 so a lot of the ladies trainers/pumps are too small/narrow.
People at work say I wont be able to move the next day but then they have not been so will go and see for myself!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I think I deserve a medal for today.....I spent 2 hours in a van with my 2 burly male colleagues - me squished in the middle (like the McD's ad! :rotfl:). As we were out over lunchtime they wanted to stop for lunch....they went to the chippy
I had to sit between them in the van whilst they ate lovely smelling chips :eek:!!! I was good and ate my pasta and turned down their offer to share :A not quite sure how I managed it!!!
Re Zumba - I got very excited this afternoon as my gym has just started Zumba classes and they are included in my membership, but then I realised they are on a Weds night which is when I go to Uni so I can't make themBut I will go once uni is over in May!
Leaving me with 3 syns for saturday which i will us on the SW 1 syn samosas for dinner!
BettyB - what are the samosa's? can you share the recipe please?
