You need to have a think about how you adjust your routine when you go onto nights and when your danger times are.
When I did them I would adjust my whole routine back by 7/8 hours. So I would sleep til 3pm, have breakfast at 4pm and then have lunch at 9pm followed by more food at 4am ish. Others try and keep as much of a normal routine as possible so they have a big meal before the shift and then have cereal or just snacks during the night.
Once you've had a think about what you want to do during the night you can plan the right type of meals and snacks.
Thanks Lil_Me, dont think we get a break till around 2/3am so i will prob make sure I have a meal before i go then take something like pasta / noodles and fruit. To be honest I'm not lokking forward to it but its only 4 nights. I need to make sure i have food in as well as they have shut the canteen“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

Christ, I literally cannot win. I debate with someone and get personal attacks and a bandwagon forming. I support someone and those that disagree with the sentiment form yet another bandwagon. Give it a rest! I LIKE the stickers, the front page of my book is filled up with them (19 awards in total), and I do feel as though they are motivating and great when you earn one.
But the poster I was responding to specifically singled out the stickers as a huge reason that she is demotivated. She is fed up of seeing other people get them without getting any for herself and it was getting her down - so to devalue them is the best way for her to pick herself up and say 'you know what, they ARE only bits of paper and at the end of the day, worthless' and get back on track.
Please, I'm begging the members of this thread, please stop being so Haribo about everything! What works for you does NOT work for everybody, and equally what works for them might not work for you - so if my advice (which is always, always personal to that member and not generic) isn't something that works for you, that is ok. It doesn't need you to jump in and start having a pop at me for being negative when the only thing I'm doing is trying to give that one individual poster a psychological pat on the back.
I dont know if you missed the point that the poster was going for her 1st WI that day.....so hadnt actually been getting fed up of not receiving any stickers - just expressed concern that she might not get to the stage where she would be able to get any herself
Its not about 'bandwagons'TakeItEazy wrote: »When I saw the reply to your post I thought uh oh here we go again. You remind me so much of my son & hubby as they 'bite' at the slightest comment from each other and I'm always saying especially to my son "just bite your lip and don't let the comment get to you". So that would be my advice to everyone really not just you woot, don't 'bite' at the comments on here just say 'whatever' and let it go.
I personally found nothing wrong with your post, I thought it was very supportive. Yes some love the stickers but its not the be all and end all of losing weight [helps a bit though]. I haven't been to class this time so have no stickers but its not bothered me. What makes me feel better is the way clothes fit and my reflection in mirrors [sometimes
].
So keep posting woot and keep being supportive. I think by now we've come to understand you can be a bit abbrasive sometimes but your hearts in the right place [mostly :rotfl:] [Now don't bite at that :rotfl:].
Sorry that turned into an essay
I read this and chuckled.....you have to see the funny side.....you are quite 'up in the air' about your views at timesIve got a son almost your age - hes exactly the same..... :rotfl:But you have got to stop and THINK sometimes before you speak about how it may affect others feelings
Skintslimmer wrote: »Wootball - well done on your 19 stickersI'm sorry if it came across as bandwagon-ing and ganging up, it certainly wasn't my intention to do so.
As you can see, I thanked your original post because overall I felt it was helpful and inspiring!
I don't agree with your opinion that delavuating things is the best way to pick someone up, but I'm fairly sure you'll be of the same opinion as me in that the world would be a dull place if we all agreed with each other - surely that would be haribo
Maybe that would have come across had I written the full length version of my reply, but I shortened it because I though that was less likely to cause umbridge  Anyhoo - sorry if I upset the kielter on here... as you were, nothing to see here

Leaving me with 3 syns for saturday which i will us on the SW 1 syn samosas for dinner!
Going shopping on Sat so no idea what i'll do lunch-wise, prob just have a big brekkie and buy a banana from the market!
Feels good to have sorted it out in advance tho, with a bit of wiggle rooms just in case things change.

Absolutely famished when I got home from work so had two packets of the Low Fat Chilli Chicken Super Noodles and some ham - whoops! Would usually only have one packet obviously, but should be ok since it's free, right?Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Trixie, my SC hints to you would be:
NEVER add liquid unless you are trying to cook "hard" vegetables (carrot, swede etc), the steam will create enough liquid as things cook.
Vegetables:my vegetarian friend said vegetables and slow cookers just don't go together, she gave hers away!
ALWAYS give things a start in the m/wave or stove top, eg I always brown the onions, brown meat on the outside - it gets some real flavour in.
ALWAYS get everything hot before you put it into the SC, eg I will do the onions & meat in the m/wave then if I am using tinned toms I will heat them in a bowl before adding, etc. At this early stage of cooking you can keep lifting the lid to add more heated ingredients, then give it a stir and...
DO NOT PEEK FOR AT LEAST 6 HOURS (unless you are doing SC lasagne which only takes a couple of hours anyway)
These were recommendations from one of my slow cooker cookbooks when I first had a SC and I've always gone with them. Hope it helps.
Thanks Blackberry... I go with your tips tomorrow when the next lot goes in the pot. I did cook the onions this time and brown the beef but didn't heat anything else and didn't add any extra liquid, just 1 tin toms in there.
I like the sound of the SC lasagne! I'll look for the recipe for that one"People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
