  • Morning!!

Alisont and Sweetserendipity - Zumba is FAB!!! I had my first class wednesday night and it was so much fun! Our instructor is so bubbly and fun she makes it such a laugh - not like exercise at all!! It is based on proper dance moves from merenge, samba etc.. There's lots of bum shaking and hip swinging! It really works on your whole body!

In my group its a nice mix of ladies young and old, all different shapes and sizes. Quite a few of us can't do all the steps due to lack of co-ordination but nevertheless it was great!! Our instructor lets us do the moves at our own pace and even make up our own if we can't do the ones she shows us to do! LOL.

I'm definately going back next week! I know you can buy the DVDs but these are quite expensive. I thought attending the group was great fun as you get to meet loads of new people and have a giggle!

Some tips for anyone planning to do it -

Take at least 2 litres of water with you - you sweat a lot!!

Take a towel - again coz you sweat a lot!

Wear really comfy joggers and top - i wore some loose trackies with a vest top

Ensure your footwear protects your foot without being too grippy - you need to slide a bit! I bought some Lonsdale trainers which are great (£16 from Sports Direct - BARGAIN!) - i'll hunt for a pic later to show you the type of footwear that is suitable.

Also don't worry about what others will think - trust me you concentrate on your instructor and your own moves rather than what anyone else is doing!!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

You need to have a think about how you adjust your routine when you go onto nights and when your danger times are.

When I did them I would adjust my whole routine back by 7/8 hours. So I would sleep til 3pm, have breakfast at 4pm and then have lunch at 9pm followed by more food at 4am ish. Others try and keep as much of a normal routine as possible so they have a big meal before the shift and then have cereal or just snacks during the night.

Once you've had a think about what you want to do during the night you can plan the right type of meals and snacks.
  • If you like Lakelands butter buds you could also keep a stock of sachets with you, and sprinkle one over the potato and under the cheese!

    Are they free?

Well done for the losses people:j

Has anone tried Zumba fitness classes, I keep saying that sounds fun but I have not got much sense of rhythm and 2 left feet so worried I'll end up in a heap on the floor or with my poor fitness levels will not last the hour:o I still need to lose 2-3+ stone so will feel all self concious!

A class starts in the village school sports hall next Mon a miles walk each way so wondering if it's worth me trying it as I keep going on about trying to improve my fitness levels which are non existant currently!

Am sure I'll be worn out after a class and a days work, wonder how expensive it is?

I've been to Zumba on and off. It works out expensive at £5 a class to go regularly but I do enjoy it and surprised how much of a workout it actually is!

    1 tsp flora light - 1 syn

I have this lovely image of moomins in tutus pirouetting (sp??) - I think that's what your avatar is anyway!! :rotfl:

    Morning all :hello:

Today is a dynorod-free day as I 'forgot' to get it out of the freezer last night  gives the house a chance to freshen up anyway!! :o

    Going extra easy:

B - 2 chocolate weetabix (HEB + 2), banana, rasps, milk (half HEA)
L - mushroom scrambled egg (splash of milk half HEA) on 2 scanbrans (2) & baked beans (wait for the beans to soak into the scanbran...nomnomnom) Might grill or microwave a tomato as well??
D - smoked haddock, SW chips (not counting oil as only using 1tsp between 4 servings), mushy peas followed by a pear & 2 clems for the superfree bit

I really don't like only having 1 HEA and HEB on EE :(

Anyway, that's both HEA & HEB used *sigh* & hopefully enough superfrees. I'll probably have a glass of wine tonight (6) & maybe a yoghurt if I'm still peckish.

Have a good SW day everyone
  • Does anyone have a list of free yogurts?

Onken fat-free strawberry & vanilla flavours, shape zero all flavours, mullerlights (not all, cheesecake ones are synned I think & a couple more??), activia fat-free (peach have 1 syn but other flavours are fine).
There will be more but that's all I can think of just now :D
