Hi all! WI last night and lost 2.5lb :T. Meal planning is having to be a bit fluid today because I have a work thing this evening, which means I will be eating out. It is in central London though, so I am hoping they cater for people trying to eat properly!

Also, am I the only person who doesn't worry about the ingredients in Frylight?!

Compare the ingredients of frylight olive oil:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil (56%),Water ,Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), E473 ,Alcohol ,Antioxidant: Vitamin E

    with a common margarine:

Vegetable Oils (42% Seed Oils),Buttermilk (29%) ,Water ,Skimmed Milk ,Cream ,Salt (1.7%) ,Emulsifiers (E471, Soya Lecithin) ,Natural Flavourings ,Vitamins (E, A & D) ,Colour (Natural Beta Carotene)

So I may be having an extra E number in my frylight compared to pure olive oil, but I'm having one less E number from not having margarine on my sandwiches anymore.

I'm not bothered about frylight! I have the sunflower, olive and butter sprays. I've put much worse cr*p in my body with the junk food I used to eat so I think I can cope with a spray of frylight.

I only dislike frylight cos it smells funny and seems to burn kinda quickly.
I always end up adding a splash of water as it dries out too quickly sometimes.
I love olive oil for it's taste and it's skin, hair, nails benefits (my nails are much stronger since I discovered green olives too!)
I use 2 syns for a tsp of olive oil, which is a long spritz from my olive oil pump spray, for when I'm softening onions, garlic, etc for sauces.
But I do use frylight occasionally, for a quick fried egg, for example

  • Hi guys,

Been on and off this board a few times now and I always give in. So I joined a meeting last night. There was a new group starting in my area which made me feel much better as everyone doesn't already know each other and I found that aspect of things quite daunting!

One thing I'm struggling with is looking up a syn value. I've just eaten a strawberry fat free yogurt from m+s and can't find a syn value on the site. The other ones in the range are between 2-4 syns on the SW site but this flavour wasn't on. I tried working out the sun value using the calculator and it cam to NINE syns which is surely not right?!!

Here's to a loss next week!

    Trek Nepal

I have been waiting for it to be put on the website and I signed up and paid my registration fee this morning eek.gif - I just have to wait for my information pack now although they emailed me the itinerary yesterday *all excited* - its pretty much :-
    1. day 1 = depart London for Kathmandu airplane.gif
    2. day 2 = arrive Kathmandu for briefing and dinner -night in a hotel (I can do that bit biggrin.gif)
    3. day 3 = 4-5hr trek to camp -1641m altitude
    4. day 4 = 6-8hr trek -camp at 2800m
    5. day 5 = 5-7hr trek - camp at 1999m
    6. day 6 = 4-5hr trek -get to see glaciers -this is the area the ghurkers are from
    7. day 7 =7-9hr trek dropping 780m -tough on the legs eek.gif -do you think I could come down on my bum? :rotfl:
    8. day 8 = 4hr trek -lunch in the village and transport back to hotel
    9. day 9 = airplane.gif back to Kathmandu - free day -"shopping" biggrin.gif
    10. day 10 = free day until airplane.gif leaves
    11. day 11 = back in London
The views sound breath taking (If I can see whilst huffing n puffing tongue.gif) ooohhh Im all excited and slightly fear.giftoo -now I just need to get set and raise the sponsorship -hubby is all set to help lilkiss.gif

Best of luck with this and your sponsorship - you will love it!

I think picking something that will challenge you is such a good motivation, and believe me you won't even feel the pain or exhaustion when you can see the amazing sights - I did the Three Peaks challenge (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours) and it was so, so rewarding, and I didn't get to see even half the sights that you will see! A good physical challenge is an amazing experience to do, it really makes you appreciate the world and how 'small' we are on it. You'll have the time of your life.

If you stick to plan and don't try and trick the system it will work - think of the reasons that you are doing this, and if you have gained then think of the reasons why. Stickers mean absolutely nothing so forget the fancy frilly add-ons that Slimming World try to use as motivation and just focus on yourself. Ignore everyone else's losses/gains and focus on what you can do to improve YOUR result. After all, the destination for all of us is the same but that doesn't mean we need to take the same route to get there.

This sounds careless but STOP feeling sorry for yourself. You've eaten what you've eaten and you can't change that now, so no point looking back and moping about it. What you CAN change is what you do from now on and that's all you need to focus on. One day at a time.

I think that's a great response Wootball. SW has me positive for the first time in ages and when I saw everyone else lose last night it made me think I can do that too!

    Hi all!

MrsM I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jealous!! I'd love to do a charity trek to the Everest base camp but I don't feel confident that I'd be able to raise the amount of sponsorship needed.

I also don't worry about frylight either...been using it for over 10 years and I haven't died yet lol!!

Haven't done any exercise at work today as was at uni this am so will have to do a DVD when I get in. I called at the market at lunch and got 2 huge carriers of fruit and veg for £7.

    Having a green day today:

    Brekkie - banana
snack - another banana (not big ones, wouldn't normally have 2 a day but have to have brekkie in the car on uni days so bananas is the easiest option!)
Lunch - small jacket potato, beans, yogurt, mixed berries, jelly (0.5)
Tea - HM chilli (will be about 2 syns but need to check, also HEB), rice, HM salsa.

Just realised I need another HEB and a HEA (have had 1 as milk in teas) so I'll have some cheese on my chilli or I might have some cheese on toast for supper!
