blackberry-rum wrote: »try warm or hot water Penny, I think it's lovely in the winter when a glass of cold water has no appeal! And the nice thing is, if you don't drink it right away and it cools down, it's just cold water. It's not yucky cold tea or cold coffee
You honestly truly cannot taste pickled onion in the pickled onion soupHonestly. Truly. And any of your favourite vegetables can be made into a soup as well as (individually or together) the ones you mentioned above. Cauliflower. Broccoli. Celery. PS also really nice if you syn (or HEB) some little cubes of cheese into your bowl of soup when it's hot. Mmmmmmmmmm
(home made soup: dryfry or in a little stock cook chopped onion and garlic; add chopped vegetables and a little more stock. Cook until softened. Blitz, adding more liquid to the consistency you prefer. It's faster to cook in less liquid, that's why I add more at the end. Obviously add herbs, spices to suit your taste.)
I'm still noshing my mashed-potato-base quiche. As well as other things of course, including the second half of my last night's (WI night) Indian takeaway. I have that as a treat most weeks, but it is always Tandoori mixed grill so apart from the onions being a tad greasy I count it as almost free :A and I eat ALL the boring lettuce-y salad, and the nan bread gets chopped up for the birds :A. sorry for repeating myself, I know I've told you this before. Blame my age & ego!
Hehehee the butternut squash, sweet potato and parsnip was mineThat is litterally all it is 1 big B.squash, 1 big S.pot and about 3-4 parsnips and onion and couple of cloves garlic.
I tend to cook them off a little first then stuck all my veg in and a little bit of curry powder gives it a lovely warm, mild spice taste tooit makes enough for me to take to work for a week

Dragged myself reluctantly to weigh in tonight convinced I'd put on or stayed the same but had lost 1.5lb:jam hoping this means I'm back on track after .5lb on over xmas and last weeks STS. Hoping it will motivate me?
One week I should atcually do more excercise and stick the SW 100% to lose more weight, but I do think it's harder being vegan as I have to syn yoghurt and you can't get low fat soya cheese or eat quark and quorn. I also wont have artificial sweetners so use agarve syrup if I need sweetners, so it will just have to take me longer to shift my excess weight.
I'm in a phase of thinking Mid Sept to Jan is a long time to be at 1 stone 12.5lb loss but thats nearly 2 stone in 4 months which for me is so great - I must realise that - just need to start believing I can lose another 2 in the next 4 months, then possibly another by summer.
So need the evenings to get lighter so I can start power walking home from work. Am a bit nervous of going out walking/jogging in the dark after work:oSealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I MUST drink more water though, I will agree with you on that. I drink loads in the warmer weather but this time of year I never fancy cold drinks. I never drink squash or anything like that either.
I get a bit slow with my water when its cold weatherhave you tried fruit teas? Ive just started drinking green tea with lemon juice and that seems to be going down pretty well
probably a silly question but does anyone know what syn value the olive oil sprays have, am a little bit cautious about frylight because of the ingredients, have some filippo berio extra virgin live oil spray (pure olive oil) and was hoping to swap this for frylight- is it a straight swap or do I have to use points per spray?
you would have to syn it, 4 sprays = 1 syn0 -

What toning boots do you wear, flutterby? I wear MBTs to work/shop in winter, and FitFlops in summer. I'm sure my legs are firmer (and my bum) and they are sooo comfortableprobably a silly question but does anyone know what syn value the olive oil sprays have, am a little bit cautious about frylight because of the ingredients, have some filippo berio extra virgin live oil spray (pure olive oil) and was hoping to swap this for frylight- is it a straight swap or do I have to use points per spray?
I just put half olive oil/half water into a spray bottle and I don't syn it at all. If I was using the equivalent of a teaspoon of olive oil via the spray I would syn it, but I am not.Dontknowanymore wrote: »OMG I just got an email from Slimming World saying that I am on their hall of fame for my loss last week, I made the 'slimmer of the week' list :j:j:j
