hiya beffffff, tbh i've not realy seen anyone moaning/argueing over this (unless i've missed some posts ) just most peeps opinions/suggestions/thoughts, which as toniq says is a good thing as we all feel/are part of the comps boards so therefore it's only fair we get to have a say in it in a way it's the ops who post the comps/send merges/ etc that help run the comps boards along with the BG's so it should be a decision along with mse rulings that hopefully suit majority of us all

Surely the users of the boards are best placed to decide what is easiest and what they want - and why would the MSE team want something the users don't want?

Can I just ask what has been put forward to the MSE team? It seems to me the comp board for the last 2 years (since I have been here) has ran fine and all of a sudden people are following new "rules" and everyone is getting upset - just go back to how it was before!

but this isn't a publically owned forum it's privately owned and all decisions are made by the forum team, I wanted to let everyone discuss the issues, then come up with some ideas, put them to you all for further discussion and then put a detailed email in to the team, last weekend when the discussion started again I couldn't answer as I had no home internet, the discussion got heated and I decided to just refer it all to the abuse team, as soon as I did this I placed the matter in their hands and now will have to wait for their response on here or to me

and the only reason I started looking at regs was because some members here complained that it was messy and hard to search and could it be looked at and tidied up

as it stands (again) I'm actually following the rules and moving regs to the regs board, the guidelines on what is a reg comp are a little blurred so I can only go with what I think for now until someone from the team gives a clearer definition, and I have asked for this, but it might not happen overnight as the team have many other issues to deal with, which is why I wanted to listen first to everyones ideas before getting them involved

even now I'm still listening to people but if the comp board was running 'just fine' people wouldn't have been complaining that some regs are allowed to stay on the main board even though there is a regs board, and this whole discussion wouldn't have started

yes you're right toniq

and I've got very fond of you all very quickly

which is why I didn't mind giving up extra time to be available in this thread listening to ideas

but I'm a BG first and follow the guidelines as they are,

a reasoned discussion should be looking at all views, but each time I try to work out what the negatives might be of having all comps on one board I feel I'm being put down for not listening
but the only reason for trying to find reasons against is so they can be discussed and ways around them found
the last thing we want is to go to just one board and find that doesn't work either

so let's realise it might take some time to air all the views but hopefully it will be worth it in the end

I think some of the comments last week classed as arguing/moaning but that's just my opinion, and I'm possibly over-reacting.

I've not been in here for a few days and it's definitely calmed down again but I was sad to see today (on FB initially) that a few people had given up posting because of the changes.

I think discussion is good, and I also think change is good if it's needed. I wasn't saying we shouldn't have a say, I just think we should be putting forward positive suggestions. I'm not saying everyone is being negative but some are. Again, just my opinion.

Part of me feels that people should give it a chance before they get too upset. But if regular posters would rather leave than give it a trial then I would rather MSE went with the vocal majority, and as soon as possible before we lose what we have here, a really great community.

I just feel for poor Glad who seems to be having to spend loads of time every day answering (pretty much) the same comments. If she has to stick to MSE rules until she's told otherwise and she's put forward all our comments it just seems unfair that she keeps on having to explain herself.

then stuff the rules !

let it all go back to the way it was before appx 6 months ago, before Glad came on board and everyone was happy

i accept that glad maybe folowing the 'rules'* but it would seem they obviously werent before Glad came on the scene or else all this upset would have come up sooner

* i actually cant find the rules as set down by MSE, just some post by divadee saying post it to regulars as e: weekly monthly etc and as far as i am aware divadee is only a BG and not MSE staff, so its either a case of BG's can make and rewrite rules without the intervention of MSE, or what divadee wrote isnt actually a rule and thus Glad by following them is not operating as per the wishes of MSE Staff, let alone the majority of the compers on the board judging by the discussions/posts being banded about

there is one simple solution to all this - Glad please leave everything well alone from here on in, [no more moving] like the way it was before until MSE advise otherwise, please do not attempt to continue to follow the apparent rule/guideline as laid down by a single BG! some years ago

there, that should make Glad's life a whole lot easier

I'm a bit confused as to what's going on :rotfl::rotfl:

I've never used the regs board, I just bookmark the dailies I want to enter when they are posted on the main board then open my dailies bookmark folder every day.

Does all this mean that I now have to go to the regs board to find new daily comps?

Yes it does! although having said that some are posted on the main board and are transferred over later

however they are only on the main board for a short while so if you comp by end date or are not up to date with your comps you will miss them unless you visit the regulars board

I haven't posted in this thread before so hi :hello: and hope it's the right place to ask

I've been comping a while now on MSE and I'm entering more and more, how do people keep a record of what they've entered? I have seen someone mention a spreadsheet and bookmarking, is this to keep a record to check on winners?
