Yes it does! although having said that some are posted on the main board and are transferred over later
however they are only on the main board for a short while so if you comp by end date or are not up to date with your comps you will miss them unless you visit the regulars board
Thanks xx
I do comps as posted as don't have time to do comps ending & tend to miss lots  but depending on work I can still sometimes fall a couple of days behind so I'll keep checking the regs board, thank you xxx

edit: if that is what all this fuss is about then I don't understand what all the fuss is about? Maybe I've missed something? But it's not gonna be too difficult to go to regs board even for someone like me who rarely pops in there? xxxSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -

I've been comping a while now on MSE and I'm entering more and more, how do people keep a record of what they've entered? I have seen someone mention a spreadsheet and bookmarking, is this to keep a record to check on winners?
I click the thanks & enter buttons so I know when I look at a comp if I've already entered it or not.
I work full time so don't have time to put comps on a spreadsheet and check back for winners etc but maybe people who have more time do that? xxxSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
then stuff the rules !
let it all go back to the way it was before appx 6 months ago, before Glad came on board and everyone was happy
i accept that glad maybe folowing the 'rules'* but it would seem they obviously werent before Glad came on the scene or else all this upset would have come up sooner
* i actually cant find the rules as set down by MSE, just some post by divadee saying post it to regulars as e: weekly monthly etc and as far as i am aware divadee is only a BG and not MSE staff, so its either a case of BG's can make and rewrite rules without the intervention of MSE, or what divadee wrote isnt actually a rule and thus Glad by following them is not operating as per the wishes of MSE Staff, let alone the majority of the compers on the board judging by the discussions/posts being banded about
there is one simple solution to all this - Glad please leave everything well alone from here on in, [no more moving] like the way it was before until MSE advise otherwise, please do not attempt to continue to follow the apparent rule/guideline as laid down by a single BG! some years ago
there, that should make Glad's life a whole lot easier
i've just been searching for the rules as well but can't seem to find themonly one i can see is

let it all go back to the way it was before appx 6 months ago, before Glad came on board and everyone was happy
But the thing is everyone wasn't happy (although more were than are now). People were asking for clarification about regulars because:
Some regular posts were getting moved to regulars, some weren't.
Some regular posts were getting added to the stickies, some weren't.
Some people were following the rule (for want of a better word after your other comment, I'm not trying to get into an arguement just trying to explain what seems to have started all this off) that regular comps should go in regulars, some weren't.
Posts were getting duped because they were being posted in regulars and then getting posted in main as a totally separate thread by someone else so more people could see it and people that use regulars were concerned they were getting DQ'd from some they were unwittingly entering twice.
If we just go back to 6 months ago without something being put in place to say where we post, or at least not to purposely dupe just so more can see it, then that will happen again and the problem is just being shifted. It needs to be sorted once and for all, hopefully as soon as possible.0 -

only just noticed the enter button recently and worked out what it was for
do comps expect you to check if you've won or do they always inform you
also I'm always worried about clicking no to emails as how do they let you know you've won if they can't email you
which means I'm getting lots of emails after signing up for sites0 -

Totally agree!
I only just came across this thread after reading the one for Cornishpasty in the iwon section.
I work full time and don't have much time for entering/posting comps as I did have previously, but what I noticed was, after I'd logged in after a couple of days, I found it took very little time for me to catch up with all the comps on the main board (It used to take hours!) I have only ever really used the main board, unless there is something in particular I want to enter when I have more time...anyway, I recently looked into the regs board to enter a few, but find it hard to get used to, and I feel like I'm jumping about all over the place (Between main board and regs ) I have missed out on lots!
I honestly feel MSE has lost a lot of appeal for me and many others, and this is proven by members deciding not to post again (HUGE shame)
As I said at the beginning, I don't have much time to keep up with things as I did, and I see people's attitudes changing too, probably because of these rules and regulations. If members would consider (circumstances) a few of us have jobs etc, and don't have time to keep up with all events it would be helpful, instead of barking-in after a comp has been posted 'Has this been sent to...?' 'Thanks for NOT sending it to...!' And I know an apology was given, but some members post for praise and recognition?! Laugh? I almost did!
We all have to live by 'rules and regulations' IRL, should our hobby have to be spoiled by them too? Because I don't see/read of many members happy with these changes, maybe I have missed that while trying to read everything here.0 -
RE - LIKE BUTTON AND LIKEABILITY
MSE Webmaster has replied on the forum downtime thread to queries on this topic:-
Hi folks,
You're correct, the changes made yesterday are related to the likeability system but they are mostly back end changes to allow us more control over how it works. The previous system (using the like button) was hardly used and we feel we can present the most popular threads much better.
With the changes made, we can now collect data on thread popularity and tweak the system to display them in the best way. There's no point going into the the way it works just yet (it's more than just thanks) as we're still evaluating and will be making changes as we go. We also need to ensure the changes made have no negative effect on the Forum overall so we're still very much in test mode.
Once we've gathered and analysed enough data, we'll start up a thread to get some input from you guys.
Thanks everyone for your feedback and for bearing with us while we were down.
