please remember that all my ideas are just that and open to discussion
a monthly comp with an end date could easily be posted every month in the main board, even if it was posted a few days late it wouldn't matter to most compers
ongoing monthlies with no end date (draws etc) could go in regs
comps with a daily or weekly entry could go in regs, these threads often have a lot of posts and get bumped regularly
it's getting people to use the board and make it easier that will help
that i would find idealthere is such a long gap between each months new answer, and can only be entered once each month so its one extra post a month and one thread for bgs to move on the end date (as opposed to dailies which would mean a new thread to post and be moved every day and would add even more to the most days seemingly never ending end next day comps. )

Hi, this thread has been moved to the regular thread, as it will have new answers every day. Please follow this link' so that there is still a link on the main board, people will know an end date, can comp either way and will only have to head to the regs board if they really want to.

Personally I think comps should be posted on the main board, link sent to regular board by that person or whoever sees it, and the main thread left until the end date when it would be moved to GO. That way everyone has the opportunity in seeing the comps as they work their particular way through comps, but the regulars also have the thread to work on each day/week/month. Personally I used to trawl the main board and save relevant posts to daily etc myself to my Favorites and never used the regular boards.
I think our ideas are pretty similar. The only thing it wouldn't solve is people comping by end date only, but that would be no different to now, and the link would be in regulars so people could find it there.0 -
I mentioned it earlier but no one has explained yet how come comps that end monthly with diff prizes such as WOTV - Nuts etc have been moved to the regulars board.
I am really gutted to see a lot of the regular posters stop posting, they do such a fab job it's a real shame people have been upset.
not sure if someone else has already answered you but nuts and more recently wotv changed format and became daily comps. prior to that they were enter once only comps. they continued to be posted on main and bgs have been moving them ever since, some months its been the odd one has been moved, but as more of us have been pointing out these are now daily and adding links in the daily thread its more obvious to the bgs that these are now daily.
its not been a sudden change in the rules for those comps in particular, just a change in format for those comps meaning they now should be posted in regs and linked in the daily thread when in the past they should go on main.
it is a shame to see a lot of the regular posters stop posting. their contribution has been appreciated. it is of course their choice to quit posting, i dont think it will be a loss to mse though as there is always someone else eager to step in and many people dying to be able to contribute by posting who will take over from those who no longer wish to.
NB: people who are quitting posting for reasons other than not liking posts being moved are NOT included in my description below. those who are included are in a very small minority and i dont think its very fair for others to blame the discussion/bgs moving threads for some of those people stopping iyswim.
and anyone who is quitting posting solely because some of their comps are now being moved to regs in my opinion backs up point about people wanting the glory of thanks for posting on main (though that is a minority of posters) as if thats not the case it shouldnt matter that fewer people thank it on regs, and given pointers in the right direction more will start to see them on regs. its also somewhat throwing toys out of pram because things are not being done as they like.
right ill expect a barage of insults now but tis my opinion so im leaving it.0 -

Could someone please post the babyworld comps? They haven't been posted yet this month which I'm surprised about. Regarding what purplecatlover said above, there are quite a few sites which people haven't posted comps from so now that i'm not posting them i'm always missing out on entering them lol! Will have to make a list of them soon so that people who want to can post them

making a list is an excellent idea, if everyone who no longer wish to post comps they regularly used to post would state as such with a list it would be much easier for others to know what might need checking and posting (in the same way people in postals and the tab and puzzler thread post saying they are giving them up).....except for the fact that no one can claim a particular comp site aside from the gameshow comps and above mentioned mag/postals.
i know i darent post any comps that i know are (or have been) posted regularly by the same person for a while because i have seen some people really laid into for having done so and seen others very upset because someone has posted "their" comp that they were a day or two late posting (with disclaimers about how no one can lay claim to a particular comp site but form both the upset person whos toes were trodden on and from those who are telling off the non regular poster for daring to do so).
P.S. Purplecatlover, my OH asked if you love purple cats? he's weird lol
it started as catlover many years ago then that started being taken so purple, as my fav colour, got added. often find 2003 now as well as thats the year purplecatlover started being already taken on forums/sites lol but yes a purple cat would have me drooling over itbagpuss, being pink comes a close second.
