Not bad considering free post aswell and it makes more room in my cupboard. Score.

I think this is the one for me now - Having cleared my £8500 debt on Thursday 24th Nov 2011 I am now looking at saving.
Currently I have:
- a Natwest current account which recieves pay (average of £320 a week)
- A natwest Isa with £350 which recieves £25 plus any spare (£1900 remaining on this years allowance)
- A natwest E-saver account with £150 in and recives £15 a week -this is purley to covers car cost - car ins approx £350 car tax £180 MOT and service £100
- A HSBC current account whihc I use as a spending account (its the only plastic card I carry - £500 available OD will cover any unforseen expenditures)
- A HSBC Online bonus saver account - no specific saving habbit with this account, I just round down my current account into at the end of the week and often end up using what there is in it to lift me out of my overdraft on those occassions where you don't quite controll youself enough
With my loan gone I'm looking to save up to £200 a week to build up a little buffer zone before I move from my parents into my own place in March (renting or house share not decided yet)Debt at its worst - £8500 January 2011
Debt free since 24/11/2011
Saving goal - £10,000 for house deposit 26/01/2017
-£2300 in ISA by 17/02/12

oo kiote it sounds like you know what you're doing!! I definitely recommend building that buffer because when you move home you need money for all sorts including a deposit and first months rent in advance etc! youll have to keep posting on here and let us know how you get on! what were your debt repayments you were making? would it be possible to continue 'paying yourself' the same amount but into savings rather than to a debt?0

Payday update from me!!! I saved £946 in November so that takes me to £53,454! Just off to update my sig. Will I make it to £55,000 by the end of December? Doubtful tbh but I am ever optimistic. I am owed a few ££s by a few people so won't count that until I get it.

Hey guys, quick update from me. I'm up to £17,600. I just need to save £400 more before the end of year to hit my target after moving it up from £15,000. It will be tough as Christmas is approaching and there is much expenditure to endure :P
Well done to you all on your efforts.0 -
Tara you're doing amazingly well!0

What most people do is open an ISA then transfer money each month on payday. Try and make it an amount that you know you can cope withoutIt's about getting the balance right

Ooooh, I'm just not getting ANYWHERE!
Things keep cropping up and scuppering my savings! I still have about £3,000 in savings which I'm thankful for, but I'm going to have to buy a new car soon because mine is on its way out etc, so a huge chunk of what I've got will disappear.
Hmmmph, not happy about this! I should have a lot more put away by now based on my monthly standing orders to my savings accounts. 2012 WILL be better!0
