    Hi

I would very much like to join your group please?! I have just started saving!! And it feels good!!!

I do have some c/c debt but personally I find it so much easier to build up lump sums and pay it off rather than over pay! I know that its not the MSE way but it works a lot better for me!

Anyway, this month I have put just short of £500 into my savings account! Am hoping to save around this much each month! Can anyone advise the best place for it?

Currently I put £25pw into an ING account and the rest goes to my plus saving A&L account. Would there be somewhere better for it?

    Thanks! :)
    Just keep swimming

    LOL, I'm sure you're doing well enough, and you're only 19! :A

OH and I are seriously tempted to buy outright, and it wouldn't take TOO long to save up enough if prices here keep falling. That said, we could take out a mortgage if we saw the right place at the right price, but we'd probably have it paid off in >5 years.

Hi I wonder if I can join please? Been reading the thread and it's very impressive to see the figures that people have managed to save! It's such an inspiration and I'm hoping you lovelies can help keep me motivated towards reaching my goal?

I'm aiming for £15k, no timescale just asap. Unfortunately I'm starting from scratch as I used my savings to completely clear my CC debts (woohoo) so will only be seeing tiny figures from me to begin with.

Keep up the good work all

    Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while. Things haven't gone well on the savings front for me. I am still waiting for last years ISA to transfer (stupid Halifax lost the form!), I bought a laptop last month which set me back a bit and I sent some money to the wrong account number! I actually missed the 8th digit of the acc no but 'helpful' santander added a zero and paid it into someone's account. I've now been waiting for it back for 2 months and just had a message from egg, the bank I sent it from, saying they had sent a second request to santander as the first had had no response

It's very frustrating but I'm trying to carry on saving as normal. However had quite a small pay packet this month as it was the easter holidays the month before so I did very little overtime. Next month won't be good either as I had 2 weeks off sick! Still trying to think positively because I have a lot of overtime lined up for June and July so can hopefully get back on track.

Will update sig in a few days when some payments clear in my account

Hey ljaneyr, I'm feeling the savings burn too, have had a bed couple of months buying a car, but when I look back it seems to extend to 6 months of bad savings! I came on to update my signature to find that I have to decrese the previous value, gutted!
