Blimey! and i though Tara was doing well!!!
I just cancelled my national lottery direct debit (£5 a month) and reduced my phone tariff to £16 a month (down from £21). So that saves me an extra tenner a month

Hey all. I haven't been on this for ages!
I'm still saving each week. I was saving £30 a week, i now save £50 a week. Yeah it's not much, but im 21 and i thought i might has well enjoy myself rather than stay in all the time and save every last penny! (If you know what i mean!)
£50 doesn't seem much compared to other people on here, but i've done it since january and its amazing how fast it adds up! I've paid a holiday off and a festival without having a loan off the bank or family/friends.
It makes me feel better with myself that i've finally managed to save money & pay for stuff straight away, rather than worrying about it 3 months after i come back from holiday!
I do like reading some of the posts on here, they are pretty inspirational to say the least!
ThanksRyan0 -
Congrats everyone! Bodmil well done on getting the refund!! Can anyone on here remember when lloyds said they were changing the vantage terms?0

I'd like to join you all here as I've just started trying to save seriously for the first time really. I've opened a cash ISA a couple of weeks ago, got £150 in it so far and hoping for £3k by this time next year.
I've been a long time reader of these forums but I'm starting to post now as I think it will help keep me motivated!0 -
Savings up to £2,155 so far this year...this month is a busy one for me so I haven't been able to put away as much as I would have liked, but June pay day at the end of the month I have budgeted to put away just short of £1,000 so fingers crossed that all goes to plan!0

JimLad I'm a seafarer and spend more time out of the UK than in it so I get most of my tax back annually. In fairness I think it's small compensation for being away from reality for so long!

I'm saving £250 a month atm
Would like to increase it but bills seem to pop up out of nowhere and I need to pay my car off first
Currently on £1500 plus a savings tin of a few hundred pounds and a 4.5 litre whiskey jar 1/3 full
Aiming for £3000 by 2012 with the car paid off
