I'm starting to save for a house deposit. At the moment I'm only working part time but hopefully I will find something full time soon so I will be able to save more. My goal is £20,000-ish by 2013.
Welcome aboard!:DISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Regular payments came out today and I can happily say that I have managed to put £722.70 into savings this past month :j I have also had to take £1000 OUT though (for my wedding expenses) but I'm trying not to think too much about that :rotfl:Mortgage-Free WannabeMortgage at start [20/6/12]: £151,800/MFD Jun 2035 (age 65)Mortgage now [5/11/14]: £139,212.14/MFD Oct 2029 (age 59)Personal Library 2014:starmod: Read in 2014: 57/60 :starmod: In Progress: 2 :starmod: Books In: 94 :starmod: Books Out: 12 :starmod: TBR: 847 :starmod:0

OK guys, it's been a while since I posted, sorry been a bit cr*p!
Hi to everyone that has joined, welcome.
I have changed my target as I'm never going to make the old one, can't see how I can save 1k each month, I like seeing my friends too much and now the holidays are here everything has just got a little more expensive!
I've moved 740 into my Isa, 140 from last months money and 600 from this month, so on my old target I would have missed by 260! See if I can't make it then I will just give up, 740 last month is a good result especially as it would have been more but I had the chance of a cheap netbook for my sister so it would have been 890.
GxMortgage at 08/10/10: 110k:eek:

OPs 2011: 100.50/4000
Current MFD: 02/10/45  (will be 63!!!)

Hi all, wages haven't cleared yet but I reckon I should have just over £600 to add to savings this month - certainly better than the last couple of months!
Could potentially have been more as this month is bonus month somehow it didnt happen on time so ended up with a guesstimate, fingers crossed I don't owe them any back!......0 -

Welcome to the thread and good luck with the goal. A lot of people here are saving for deposits too so you're in good company!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Well pay has appeared and I hav e moved another £150 to my savings to go with the £300 I moved earlier in the month. Had a couple of spendaholic months hence the low savings and it isn't going to get any better as I am about to pay £400 for a new lounge carpet (if I can decide on a colour)0

Wuhoo! Payday! I did a load of overtime the month before last so paycheck is very healthy. Unfortunately I am about to pay for next years car insurance and a new mattress (can you put a price on reducing back pain?) so my budget is looking terrible for august already! I'm just going to spend as little as possible so that I don't go into my OD and end up ruining next months savings too.
Despite all this I have just set up the standing order so £100 will be added to my first home saver in a few days so I've updated my sig. Hope everyone else is doing better than me!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living."
