It's pretty terrifying, and I was wondering - does anyone have some or all of their money in a euro bank account? I wonder if it might be worth moving some money in to one. I've had a look and Nationwide seem to do quite a good one where your cash is held in Euros instead of sterling. Any thoughts?

I have seriously considered it, not least because I may end up in Europe, and I'm worried my savings will disappear when exchanged to euros. HSBC have an instant access savings account in euros. Rate's crap, but aren't they all right now?

Nope. I had part-time jobs. Luckily I didn't have to take out a loan!

  • First post of 2009 for me? Im sure it is anyway!!!! was a pretty tight xmas for me? well wasnt that bad but decided to spend less so I seem to be in pretty good shape for the rest of 2009!!! With the savings rates been so rubbish ive decided to add to my premium bond stash this year. Aim to save £150-£200 per month, ive won £50 the last 2 months so im hoping my luck will continue.

I gather while the rates are low im not really missing much if i dont win anyway. Rent continues to flow in and my second job is continuing to pay ok so I seem to be in a pretty healthy position!!!

I crashed into a ****ing car this morning. I am so ****ed off. Me and another guy were both heading towards each other down a street with cars both sides. I decided to reverse to let him past me (one of us had to reverse and I was in a good mood), and I reversed into someone. He was in my blind spot.

I did no damage to my car and bent his sidewing and scratched his front bumper and he wants to go through insurance. Its like £200 damage. My insurance will go up around double that
  • Oh Dear Lokolo! TBH my missus bumped her car yest! nothing you can do about it, Somebody scraped my car in a multi storey and drove off without leaving a note about 6 weeks ago, Im replacing my car in 12 months and its not that bad so im not bothering having it fixed, My missus was really upset yesterday, but theres nothing you can do is there? its one of those things!!!

Yes but as a 20 year old with 3 years NCB at stake its quite a lot :rotfl:

Nevermind eh. I am working next year anyway so will be able to afford it!
  • I know its annoying with the excess to pay, but there are always gunna be set backs along the saving ways!!!! theres always something that crops up isnt there? Since I got my car ive had it damaged 3 times in the 4 years ive had and Ive not been in the car for every one! its been parked somewhere. Twice the persons driven off! both those times they have been 4x4's, ive been able to tell due to the height of the scrape/bump. Im planning to get a 4x4 next year! The hunted becomes the hunter?????????????
