Welcome Briona :) hope the Europe trip materializes!

Today should be interest day for my ISA, but of course it's Saturday! I don't think I've ever been this sad that it's the weekend. Still, should get the money on Monday. Really can't wait! Until now I've only ever really got pence in interest, or maybe the odd £2. So this is the first substantial interest payment for me. Of course I shall be rounding up to the nearest hundred ;) Hoping for just over a hundred pounds so I may have a fair amount to find. In fact I may make it up to £200 in any case.

    Hope you're all well.

Thanks for the welcome Masomnia! :)

I think I was inspired to join up yesterday because my savings from KE finally arrived safely back in my current account! A big – and welcome – relief! I shall be investing my savings more carefully in the future, and not necessarily chasing the highest interest rates. ;)

    Hi,

I'm still waiting for KE from last Sunday when did you transfer your money?

I transferred mine by BACS on Wed 8th October (lunch time ish?). ING have said that the majority of transfers would be credited to destination accounts by close of business yesterday, however depending on who you bank with and what time ING pushed the money through, it might not show in your account till early next week. I bank with HSBC and didn't receive my money till around 4:00pm.

  • Hi Briona,

Thanks for your reply, I'm also with HSBC so will expect it in the next few days.

I want to transfer the rest of my money but waiting to make sure it works! I got the email about them trying to catch up by yesterday but obviously not quite managed it yet!

  • Hi all, Thought I'd put a post on. Had some good news today. My old tenants got in touch and want to stay at my house. I've agreed to drop the rent by £25 a month for them, which they're very happy with. Now I've got a bit of breathing space to pay for all the costs I've had recently (new boiler, carpets + car repairs). I'm hoping to pay off all of these expenses plus build up a £500 savings float before the end of the year. Then I can start piling money into the ISA again. Hoping to be posting some great monthly savings come the start of next year. Good to see everyone planning early for Christmas. My family have all agreed to cap the spending at £7.50 per person. I'm glad we're all happy to think about the giving rather than the gift. Congratulations to everyone who has got their money back from the Icelandic Banks. I'd have been in the same position had I not been too lazy to post all my documents off! Hope everyone else gets their money without too much stress.

  • Moneysavingwannabe - I made a transfer on the same day as you from KE. The money showed in my account on Friday, but the funds still haven't cleared, as my available balance is £1 less than the account balance. I bank with HSBC.
I'm sure your money will get there on Monday.

    Haha nice one.

Been good for me. I managed to not spend as much as I thought I would this month so far, and my mum (bless her!) paid me back when I had car serviced, so £300 in savings woo woo.

However today, had to get up at 7.30 for Uni Open Day, however, now not very MSE of me I am ordering Dominos because I'm worth it :D
