Going to blow my cover here, but it's actually 'Green with Envy', which is the name of my car (it's british racing green!) but really abbreviated.
I love that. Great to know the story behind the names
I'm feeling rich today. Quidco cashback of £140 was paid into my account, as was my expenses cheque for mileage £130. Knowing both were on their way, I'd already upped my savings at the beginning of the month, but it still feels good to see them both clear. I celebrated by treating myself and a colleague to a Burger King lunch. Okay, I'd have been better saving that tenner... but I'm in rich mood, and I just know I'll be a millionaire someday.
I am in such a good mood. I feel like saving a little extra this month, above what I already have.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Quite miffed that I've had no luck finding a job for the summer so far. No income = no saving.
Come October though, lots of saving!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

I know what you mean, I'm not sure whether I'm having a rich month or not. My current account has just gone overdrawn by £75but I just checked my holiday savings and it's up to £765 with another £200 owed to me to go in there.
Need to go debt collecting, owed about £65 from my OH which I'll get back at the weekend and I'm also due an expenses cheque for around £40.0 -
Well we have set up the reg. saver with halifax- the woman said we had to stick to an amount and couldn't top it up but it clearly says on the website that we can top up to £500 pcm if we want! Set up SO for £250pcm and hope to top up by another £250pcm. Also sent Christmas money cheque to BM so I can't spend it! AND registered reg. saver for gross int. so that'll all help! We've got to try and save as much as possible in the next few months so i've split our savings into various categories to help.
They are:
Christmas cash/vouchers/pending 326.48
Holiday spends 409.17
Holiday Thrift club 680
House ISA- 57
Halifax Reg. saver (House money/holiday spends money) 0/250
Emergency Fund (BM- will include child benefit and CTC) 0
Baby spends 124 (Plus 25 cheque)
Baby reg. saver (not set up yet- but will be at £100pcm via Grandmas account)
20p savers club- £5.60 (goes into Christmas savings when £10)
That's it for now. I can't wait till I can update the totals properly!
Good luck everyone and thanks for the support!

I decided last month that I wanted to simplify my accounts as I had a few accounts dotted around here and there, i'd just opened an ING direct account (as I got a refer a friend bonus and the interest rate isn't shocking at least for a year, at which point i'll move elsewhere) and everything went either in there or into my ISA.
As i'm £400 away from filling my isa to the brim I decided now was the right time to find somewhere to put the rest, the original idea was ING, but having looked at the halifax reg saver i'm going to use that. I'll use my ing account for money I might need to access and the rest can all be put into halifax as 10% I can't pass up!
Its sad but I get excited when I open new accounts, I feel like i've acheived something! Does anyone else get the same thing?
I also tidied up my isa a bit this month too, its still got a few stray pennies and pounds in there but I made the amount left until its full a round amount, I think the tidy saving bug is catching on a bit :rotfl:0 -
paulboy - Yep I'm they same. I have to restrain myself and limit it to 3 savings accounts otherwise I'd have zillions! ISA, regular saver and instant access - the regular saver will be going into the ISA when it's year is up. I did it for the rate, but won't fill up my ISA so may as well stick to an ISA and an instant access.0

I've had to work overtime the last few days, and I just can't wait until pay day! All the stress and exhaustion will be worth it when I manage to save a few hundred more at the end of the month

Hi guys, I've been reading this forum for quite a while so i hope it's ok to join.
About me: I'm 24 and have been working for a few years. Have managed to save £9,500 so far in a cash ISA (now full up for this year) and am trying to decide where to put my money til next April. I've also got an instant saver with about £250 in it. As a rule i try to save 20% of my income which when you're paying London rent is pretty good i think!
I'm currently considering getting a few premium bonds but i know Martin doesn't approve(!) At the moment my money is all with the Co-op Bank, quite like their ethical stance even if the rates aren't tip top.
Anyway, good luck to everyone, keep up the hard work!:T0 -
'Course it's okay, markalun! The more the merrier!
