...however, if you want to max out the 2007/08 ISA then get your money in before the end of the tax year if it isn't already maxxed out0

I've somehow managed to scrape together the £300 I'd aimed to save this month  My spending has been higher than usual though due to various one-off expenses, and I have to admit a momentary slackening of resolve on my part. I think it is likely to be hard going to save another £300 this month as I'd planned as my credit card bill will be high, so I'm going to aim for £200 savings instead and see how it goes. So that'll be at least £500 ready to go into a new ISA in April.
Speaking of the new ISA, I'm probably going to plump for the Barclays Tax Haven ISA. I am going to hold back for a week or two after the 6th April and see how the account opening goes for others though, having read about the delays with opening their Tax Beater ISA last year.Never mind the house prices, I'm saving a deposit.
[STRIKE]£20,000[/STRIKE] £15,100.82 still needed - 24.50% saved so far!
Buying and moving costs: £3-5k - will save this after the £20k

Well, I'm back to square one again. I had my boyfriends computer on a "buy now pay later" deal with plans to pay it off in autumn before the interest began to accrue. They sent me a letter saying that if I wanted to pay anything after April the 1st by debit card or cheque, they would charge me. The moneysaver in me thought, "I have the money to pay it now, so I will". Unfortunately, that wiped my current savings out completely (damn him for buying such an expensive computer).
Back to square one, do not pass go, do not collect £200. A house has now been put back until possibly January. How long til pay day?

So far this month, I have managed to save £165, which will be going into the emergency savings. :j In the new financial year, I think that I will open the Barclays Tax Haven ISA. Keep up all the saving, everybody! :easter:0

I have my £600 ready to pounce into my ISA for next year then setting up a standing order of around £300
and still got the Halifax regular saver and plan to keep that at about £200 a month
All good fun this saving.
Right slight question for you brainy people...
I am with NS&I and its a variable ISA and well they have just dropped it for the next tax year to 0.33% above england base rate, when i took this ISA out in october it was 0.55% above...Am a little annoyed to be honest. Anyone know whats going to happen with the base rate?
And another question is, do you think the Halifax regular saver is quite a high paying regular saver? 7.00% AER Fixed.
Anything else i can do to get the most out of my money, i love watching it grow but i am now starting to get urges to invest it into shares (i want to make quick money)but i am too young, and don't have a clue where to start.
If only i was 18 then i could do more with my money!! Why stop a 16 year old from making money? Some bank accounts don't let 16 year olds open them!!
Sorry for blabbing on

Welcome to the thread Diane, I see you are another that lives in the fine county of Derbyshire!
Just been paid so saved £490, so that is £400 into savings and £90 which is a regulary payment into SAYE scheme. I have left myself enough to get to the next payday (April 25th), but hopefully I may be able to save some more if I am tight with my money this month. I am tempted to declutter the shed, so potentially 2 mountain bikes to sell, if I can be bothered with eBay though.0 -
Well, despite paying out for the PC I still managed to have £624 pounds left in my savings pot. Don't quite know how I've managed this
.
So maybe I can still get on the housing ladder at some point.
Well done to all those who are saving hard this month and are waiting for the new tax year for ISA maxing!!How long til pay day?
