    Evening all
Just popping in to share a giggle, one of our sofa's has bitten the dust, the seats are sagging really badly, hubby thinks it's the springs that have gone. A friend of a friend is an upholsterer & I'm going to ask if he can give us a quote to do a repair.
Hubby decided to upturn the sofa to see if there was anything he could do, there wasn't, but interleaved in the guts of the sofa was a decorative item of apparel made mainly of leather & lace! I wondered where that outfit was. I'm so glad hubby found it before we phoned the upholsterer & requested a visit! Imagine his face if he's found said item during his repair!
    Hugs Hester

    Evening all, and happy 2011!
Had a terrible Hogmanay thanks to the neighbours, never heard slamming, banging and carry on like it from 6pm till after 4am, was trying hard to sleep as I had a 12 hour shift today and leave house at 5.45am, as you can guess never shut an eye, and according to OH was noisy from 6am again! Busy day at work, poor patient to be moved to general hospital with pneumonia, so not a great day.....god help them if noisy again, my days off will be retribution!!!! Anyways, hope you have had a healthy and happy start to the year! Am off to bed soon, to catch up, working next 2 days too....
    RIP Iain

Is it supposed to be bad luck to work on New Years Day?

I must get back into Ebay - December was so quiet I just did relists which a lot of them sold so am waiting for all the sales to wind down so I can get the bargains to sell on

I have a few things that I'd like to put onto Ebay but wasn't sure if January is usually a quiet month?

I'm turning 40 this month and I am feeling some sort of panic that I can't really explain but I know the state of my finances and my house are just not helping.

    6) Revamp as much of my furniture as possible taking inspiration from the Shabby Chic thread.

I know exactly what you mean - I turned 40 in 2010 and it was quite a confusing thing. I wasn't particularly bothered about being 40, it was just another year older, etc. but at the same time there was an inner panic there - think it's just a psychological thing when facing the big 4-0.

Can you please tell me where the Shabby Chic thread is as I would find that most interesting. Thank you. ;)

  • Shabby Chic is bumped and should be a few threads down the page ;)

    Hester you are priceless :rotfl:

My funny is that DS1 said earlier, after discussing how much weight he and his dad have put on over the holiday "Mum, come on 'fess up, was it you or dad who breast fed me when I was a baby!" :rotfl: DH has taken the hint and will be embarking on the weightloss challenge with me tomorrow :rotfl:
