to save a £1 a day up to dec so i have some cash for xmas :D

I kinda do this anyways, but not quite £1 a day. When I get home after having spent money I empty my purse. All 1p's, 2p's, 5p's and 10p's go in a giant whiskey bottle, and a £1 goes into my giant piggy bank, any £2 coins are always saved for the giant piggy too. I last counted and cashed them up in the summer after 2 years of collecting. I had £320 in the giant piggy bank, and £80 in small change :D. It's my holiday fund. I don't do it every day as I try not to spend money everyday!!

I've just done a DVD workout - 3rd bit of exercise this week so I'm on course for my resolutions already :rotfl:. It's dizzly rain here so I won't be going out for a walk.

There looked to be a police incident nearby here earlier. 4 police cars with lights flashing stopped on the roundabout and were stopping cars from going down one of the roads. But they left after 20mins or so. <insert confused smiley>

I'm going to make a SW diet friendly veggie roast dinner later, and need to put the BM on too.

A happy New year to one and all !

Ok so I lost the plot a bit in December and having started to post here went MIA - too much catch-up to do after weeks spent in house clearing for relatives moving into homes on the run up to Xmas.
Xmas was good if quiet just DH and DD plus my DM and DF ( both in their 90's) for lunch on Xmas day. Have travelled to Lakes to take DD back home and spend the NY weekend with her so have just abandoned the Xmas clear-up till I return home next Tuesday - cant say Im looking forward to walking in to all that. :(
The other part of my family live in Australia - DS,DIL and (only) 2 grandchildren. The webcam and Skype were great for watching them open their gifts on Xmas morning - felt we could share their Xmas if only for a little while.
Able to breathe at last and the festivities are all over bar the shouting as they say. so its on to 2011 and like everyone else I have plans for getting more organised, saving money and being calmer as a result.
To anyone who loves making lists ( and I have been known to have a list of my lists LOL) the following website is a treasure trove. (Sorry if its known to you all and I am preaching to the converted)

    http://organizedhome.com/

good for a read whenever you feel full of energy (!) then go have a lie down till it passes:p

the lists are on the following link

    http://organizedhome.com/printable/household-notebook

Right dinner to get ready for this evening - large lamb shoulder slowcooked and for pud we have a slice of cranberry steusel cake.
All dieting, decluttering and resolutions on hold till next week then you wont see me for dust (possibly)

Welcome to new posters and all those who lurk xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

eldest DD just popped in to change the duvet and bed for me as I can't manage it on my own with my clapped out arm and she was really bright and bubbly, she had to shoot off quickly as DGD Holly sent her a text saying that where she works part-time in a shop whilst on holiday from college they are shutting for the afternoon as no-one has bothered coming out to shop so she will get paid from 10.00.a.m. until 16.30. :):) one very happy little DGD :):)
I am going to have a nice 'normal' ham salad for my early dinner tonight as I want to use up some of the salady bits I have left over.
Probably have a fruit salad for pudding:DStart the new year with a healthy kick methinks

Have just been listing some old CDs on Musicmagpie and made £21:j
Have never used it before, just waiting for them to send the freepost labels to send them with. Want to get rid of as much clutter as poss and never listen to CDs now just use Spotify.
DH still in bed with migraine.
DS`s dad rang him the other night.....some of you might remember DS going back to Spain with his dad for a hol last summer( when I was worrying like mad lol). He asked him if he wanted to join them for a hol there this summer and DS said "no thank you actually no I don`t".
I was quite surprised as he seemed to enjoy the last one. He has since told me it was too hot and didnt like the plane etc.
Felt sorry for his dad really as he thought he was giving him a nice treat taking him there again.
Off to rescue Fatcat from DS....she is hissing like a madwoman poor old girl.
Redruby how has your dad been over Xmas? Have all the changes etc made him more confused?
JC I would ring NHS direct or emerg GP and see what they say? Is he drinking enough even if he isnt eating? may need some Dioralyte to replace fluids if he isnt.

OMG I am raging! My sister, who is too nice for her own good sometimes, had a party of four last night - her, her OH, a male friend and a female friend (not a couple) and my eleven year old nephew. I had bought her a purse for Christmas, and she only got it yesterday as we hadn't managed to meet up until then, She was so chuffed with it and we had a right laugh, she posted pics of it on FB and everything! She put money she had been gifted in it when I was there, £60 in £20 notes, and she was being really funny about "look how cool my new purse is!"

Fast forward to this morning, and she realises that £20 has been taken out of her purse! She knows it was the female, as there have been incidents in the past (not with sisters money) and the femals was the only likely culprit. I've told her many times not to trust her, but she has known her all her life and they're quite close. How awful can you be to steal money from a friend - who has less money coming in than you, and you know it - thing is my sister would have helped her out if she needed it. I am spitting feathers right now! I've told her it was worth it to get rid of her, but knowing my sis she will let her wheedle her way in again in six months or a year!

    Happy new year all!!

I was good, and didn't drink much, we stayed in last night and had a friend over. OH didn't go to bed till 8am though!!! Been for a roast at his grandparents and now he is back in bed.

Got a few resolutions this year
    -give up drinking
    - lose weight
    - Read more books
    - become more 'crafty' (arts and crafts, not sneaky)

Not got much planned today, just put a wash on. But have run out of powder so can't do anymore today. Got no tax on the car anymore so will need to nip into town before work one day next week on the train and get some essentials.

Weighed in today setting myself a goal of 2 stone to lose (i'm smack on the stone mark so this helps!)
Not drinking will help i think.

I finally feel normal again!! Still got a horrible cough and cough up blood too, but not actually feeling ill anymore which is wonderful.

I'm going to spend the rest of the day looking for cheap recipes to keep us going in january.

    Have a lovely day all.
