Lovely lazy evening doing a bit of knitting and watching the Eric and Ernie drama on bbc2.Also had to resew god know how many buttons on DGS Bens new reefer coat .He only got it the week before xmas and all the buttons were hanging by a thread. Its a military syle one so there were around 18 buttons to sew on properly so he didn't lose them.I will be his favourite Granny tomorrow afternoon as he loves his new coat which his parent bought him for his birthday.
Enjoyed my salad and used up some of the pickled red cabbage my dd gave me.I don't waste a thing if I can help it.Tomorrow I have a small amount of ironing to do and may make a start on undecorating the tree. I can't get the dekkies down as I don't do climbing on chairs far too dangerous with my wobbly joints,Dd will do it for me next week.
Will recycle most of my Christmas cards to my crafting boxes as I use lots of bits for 'toppers' I also have a birthday card to make for DD's sis-in-law for Thursday.
In the afternoon I will be off to see my little tribe for dinner and life will get back to normal hopefully.Too many bank holiday its like having a week of sundays .
P.S. started my £1.00 a day into a saving pot for next Christmas today, very painless really and should be able to carry on throughout the year0 -
Blian nua faoi mhaise dibh go leir!
Happy New Year everybody, trust that 2011 will be a healthy and happy one for you all.
Welcome Newbies.
Very quiet here to-day as OH has a bad cold, or flu or somesuch, he really doesn't seem to be well, ate very little to-day and went off to bed at 5.30...will try to persuade him to let me call doctor on call tomorrow if he is still not well.
Had 2 chimnies swept this morning, am very pleased as the one in this room hasn't had a fire for at least 10 years, there was a huge bird's nest in it so glad its now sorted.
Have made 2 NY resolutions.....to finally learn how to use chopsticks properly ( can use them but very inelegantly!) and to learn to swim, so looking for lessons in our local pool over the next few days.
Sleep well all

Marie I learned to swim very late in life and loved every minute of it.I don't swim quite as much as I used to anymore as my wonky right arm stops me but I still enjoy going and having a bit of a splash around.I try to go during the week when the school children are back at school ,its a wee bit quieter then.Great fun though. My local pool also do a pensioners hour which is usfeul as it means I get a swim at a reduced price ,even MS when I am having a swim:):)
