    Good Morning All!
Well, 2011 is now with us well and truly. We did stay up in the end and I thought the fireworks from the Thames were fantastic - but I also wondered who was footing the bill! However, we do need to show we can do this stuff as well as the next lot so once in a while...Very romantic that proposal on air...but could she really have refused him with everyone watching??? Hope it lasts!
Still wheezing away like a punctured accordian, so again the doggies were a little shortchanged this morning. Thanks for tidying up after the drinks last night - no mess here this morning!
No plans to do much today. Baked gammon for lunch...won't need to do more than pick this evening. Will spend today trying to break down into manageable chunks exactly what I hope to achieve this year. Anyhow, whatever you are up to today I hope you get some time for yourselves. Take care.
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!
  • DS thrilled as Primeval back on tonight...he loves it.

My DS loves Primeval too, keeps him quiet while it's on, I wonder what the storyline will be like this time?

I plan on making today the first day of my new life, no more putting off til tomorrow what I can do today, I fully intend to start as I mean to go on and that involves having a clean tidy house by the time my youngest goes to bed then I can enjoy my evening clutter free. No more piles of ironing that I keep putting off until we have no clothes left to wear :o I am making it my missin to lose weight this year and keep it off, I had lost a stone in weight but have put it back on over the festive season.

Just a few questions please if you don't mind, I had no clue where to post them:

Can anyone recommend a decent soup pot to me or where I can buy one, I love soup and want to start making batches.

Also can anyone recommend or direct me to a previous thread for good food/recipe websites?

    Thanks in advance.

I hope everyone has a lovely day today and enjoy the weekend, back to normality for us on Tuesday xx
:j Here's to 2013, may it bring Happiness to all :j

I am starting to worry about what you do with them when they dont lay anymore....was reading that some use their entire eggs by 2 or 3 years. Do not think I could then eat the bird:cool:

:rotfl::rotfl: My Grandad (and Mum & Dad come to that) kept hens, but Grandad unusually had one who was named Mary after his daughter, and when her time was done, they who never usually bothered, "couldn't eat Mary", my Mum quickly said, send her down to our house (no love lost between Mum & SIL), she made a nice Sunday Dinner for us.

I am sure you will find similar hard hearted freinds who will take them off your hands.;)

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Good morning and a Happy New year to you all. I nodded off so missed it but never mind.
Today will be doing the gammon that didn't get used over Christmas and i might use a trifle pack mix up too. Would have liked to have gone out but DS1, DD1 went out last night so won't be having their presence any time soon and DD2 stopped up. Anyway it's a grey wet day.
Not making any resolutions save from posting on here. I'm going to set myself a goal each month instead so i want to decorate the kitchen and pay off my holiday in January.
Anyway hope you all have a good start to the year x

I just use my slow cooker for making soup. Any SC will do really.

    Morning all,

Been up a while, but just pottering around tidying etc, no wm on today, just in case ;)

OH has gone to the boot sale, not sure its even on, but he has gone to check, waiting for a call from my dd asking us to collect her, I am not sure the trains are running today.

I am going to take the trees and decorations down today, I have had enogh of them now :o, so once that is done I will have a good hoover through.

OH and I went out walking yesterday, over the south downs, and came across six of those chinese lantens stuck in trees etc, which we picked up and binned, I do love the look of them when they are flying, but they look dreadful once landed.

Dinner tonight is something with sausages, either mash and veg, or if i cant be bothered sausage and onion bagettes, will decide later.

No resolutions made here, but as from next week when we are all back to normal I will start my healthy eating again. And I am determined to save enough for a new bathroom this year.

OK better get on, have good days all xx

    Hello x
We are a very subdued bunch here this morning. Ds1 and Ds2 are sleeping off the the excess of last night which I posted about late on yesterday thread. I stayed up with DS2 until 3.30 am as I was so worried about him. Still I think he might have learnt a salient lesson:eek::eek::eek:

I watched three of those lanterns take off but hadnt thought about the hazard they would cause when they land !!

Im tucked up in bed as last night has taken its toll. Im going to have a sort out tomorrow and encourage my kids into action. We are also having chinese later so not MS but a nice treat:T:T:T

    Hugs xx

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

    Morning All

DH didn't get in from work until after 4am and was back out for half ten this morning so he just stayed up and let me have a lovely lie in :T Definitely the way to start the new year. As he's working today we're putting off our big dinner to tomorrow when we will have the 1/2 price beef that I got from Sainsbugs before xmas.

Our decorations came down yesterday apart from one rogue santa who will be back in the box today.

DS1 is still sick - its been a week now and he's barely eaten as he is being sick with the flu. At what point do you say this needs the doctor? He's 18 and genereally fit and well but this has laid him flat and he looks very drawn (he's thin to start with!).

Might get my kitchen cupboards organised today as they and been a bit shunted about making room for christmas stuff. Still haven't used the Christmas pudding as we were too full on Christmas day so might try and use if for tomorrow...I think there's only me will eat it tho!

Want to meal plan evening meals and packed lunches at some point - might save that for this evening when DH will be sleeping!

    Have a good day x
