Groupon has deals for most major cities in the UK - I check Edinburgh, Glasgow and the national deal every day to see if there is anything worth getting. I normally use Groupon for food deals (i.e. pay Groupon £15 and get £35 worth of food somewhere) or for discount haircuts. My last haircut cost me £15 and should have been £54.
Swagbucks is a site where points mean prizesI save up my points and get Amazon vouchers with them. You mainly get points through doing daily polls and surveys, but I have also downloaded the toolbar for my browser and get 1 point per day for using that. If you use them as your main search engine you can also win points for searching. They can be a pain to gather, but once you get 849 points you can redeem for a £5 Amazon voucher, so they're keeping me in music downloads. If you want to try them out, PM me your email address and I'll happily refer you. (You can also join up yourself but I get points for referring other people)

*unlurks* hey ff, I usually read moo's diary thread but could have sworn I'd posted on yours before too. I have some fond and some fuzzy memories of visiting E'burgh when I was a student, miss the city these days - London is a similar distance from where I am now but it's just not as nice taking a day trip there as days out in Edinburgh were. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hi Scuba - feel free to delurk more
Edinburgh is a lovely place to have a day out. I still feel that way when I'm in town and the weather is good, and I've lived here for nearly 13 years now :rotfl:
Well the house is pretty tidy now after yesterdays adventures. It still needs hoovering but that's being left to Mr Fresian. I think he would die of shock if he ever saw me hoover - that's his job
I'm heading out soon to go and meet Mama and Papa Fresian. I suspect my day is going to consist of being dragged around the shops by Mama Fresian while Papa Fresian sleeps in the car. The trouble with where they live is that the only brand-named shop is the Co-op, so she does tend to go a bit Supermarket Sweep when she visits.
Still, it's being used as an excuse for me to spend some money on things I need as we're going to the outlet village in Livingston so I can finally buy new trainers and I'm also looking for a good quality wok as all the non-stick has b*ggered off my one so it's a pain to cook with and a pain to clean. I could also use a new knife block. Ooft, it's so rock and roll in Fresian TowersDoes anyone know if there are rules about disposing of knives? I will obviously be getting rid of my old rubbish knives, but suspect I'm not meant to just punt them into the landfill. All ideas appreciated!
The only other news from here is that I think my central heating might be deadedWe still have hot water *phew* but can't get heat to come out of the radiators. It's not a problem now the weather is warmer, but needs fixed ASAP. I have the number for a friend of a friends husband who deals with such things so hopefully it's something simple that a man with a spanner can cure, and not something that requires a whole new system. Cross your fingers for me Internets!!
Right, better go and sort out the washing and have breakfast before I go out. Have a good day all
