    Evening all,

Hope your head's not too sore tonight Beanie :D

I've had a bit of a spendy day today, but only on required things like shopping and scones.

I took £40 of my Sealed Pot money to the bank and ended up paying it into the mortgage account as an overpayment. I'm not in desperate need for the money anyway so thought I may as well. I may well do that with any other Sealed Pot funds I withdraw in the future too as I have my VSP for mindless frittering/possible Mulberry fund, my ISA is my emergency fund, and I have accounts for Christmas and car repairs. Ooh, I'm so organised it scares me!!

Ooh it's a lazy day in Fresian Towers today.

Mr F hasn't been well so is resting in bed (with a cat curled up on his toes for company) and I've done b*gger all apart from Facebook all day :o

Mr Fresian's sister (not the one who lives with us) had her first baby just after midnight, so we're off to visit later on. I just need to make a Mother's Day card for her to go with the new baby card. It is nice that the little tyke was born on Mother's Day though :D

I do really need to finish off my weekly shop by hitting Aldi, but I might do it tomorrow after work. I'll see how the rest of the day goes.

Must dash now - dishes call :rotfl:

    Morning all,

I had a pretty good weekend moneywise. Yesterday was nearly a NSD but as Mr Fresian was going to put £10 of diesel in the Scrapsmobile I decided to match that. That way we should have enough diesel to keep us pootering about until we go on holiday at the end of the month.

I did spend in Morrisons on Saturday, but only £25 and according to the Spreadsheet of Wonder I got £32 value out of it :money:

My other big spend of the weekend was joining MFlow and putting £10 into my account with them. They're a download site and are doing a massive selection of albums for £1 as a promotion at the moment. I've not even spent my full £10 yet and have over 200 tracks! I can refer people using this URL if anyone wants to investigate. I got Aretha Franklin, Queen, Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson's Greatest Hits for £1 each, and the newest Glee album :D

We went up to see Mr F's new nephew yesterday. He's pretty cute for a less-than-24-hour-old. Normally they look like wee raisins at that age. He's got some set of lungs on him though -.

Right, nothing else to report so going to forage for breakfast. Have a good Monday peeps!

Bah to rotten night's sleep :(

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £64.40
    Entertainment - £49.99
    Groceries - £181.07
    ISA - over £1300
    VSP - about £350

I'm going to be able to use a lot of money from my bills account this month for our holiday too as the council didn't set up my council tax direct debit in time. I assumed they would just take a double payment, but when I called them they said that they would just calculate it over 9 months instead, meaning I only pay an extra £15 per month and get another month without council tax, woo!

In other news, I'm due 11.5 hours overtime at the end of the month which gets paid at time and a half. That will go directly into my savings account. My annual payrise applies from this month too, but I'm not including it in any calculations, so anything extra this month goes right into savings.

Regular readers may remember that Mr Fresian's nana passed away earlier in the year. He received a cheque from her estate for £500 yesterday, which means today he's off to buy a new PC. He was going to do this with some of the money from Mr Fresian's dad so now we can leave most of that alone. He's selling our old one for £150 as well, so we only have to take £100 from the Big Cheque. (seems like a lot of money to pay to me, but it's going to be all-singing-all-dancing and we won't have to replace it for years).

So, that's all the news in Fresian Towers this morning, just about to finish getting ready so I can be in work an hour early and rack up some more overtime!!

I got £11.95 interest on my ISA today as well, which is very exciting :D

Nothing else of much note happening apart from Souk coming to visit on Sunday. We have lunch booked in a BYOB place in town ;)

    Happy Hump Day :D

Which I should also point out I ultimately didn't buy with my bonus and am saving feverishly for instead.

Delayed gratification is the best kind :D

I also wouldn't suggest that the only reason Mr F's sister is still with us is because her rent brings me closer to Mulberry Joy when we go to York in June. Pure coincidence there's an outlet there.

    Honest.

It's bad form indeed when you have to hunt through your list of subscribed threads to find your own diary :o I just don't feel like I've got anything to talk about really, although I usually manage. There are only so many ways you can say "Well b*gger me I'm skint this month and it's a long time till payday".

    So, what's new then?

I found a deal for afternoon tea for two in Edinburgh for £15 which is quite exciting. If you recommend it to three friends and they buy it then you get it for free, which is what I managed to do :D I'm just waiting for them to get in touch to tell me how to get the refund sorted. Free fun is the best kind! I'm just leaving my account overdrawn while waiting for the refund as I don't get charged until I hit a £300 overdraft.

My ISA balance is looking very nice at the moment, but that's because I have put the money to pay off Mr Fresian's new computer in there. I made him pay with my credit card so I could get clubcard points :rotfl: I may as well leave the money in there getting interest while I'm waiting for the bill to come through. I'm so used to worrying about getting a credit card bill that putting the money aside and knowing it's covered is still quite alien to me :o

I'm off for a long weekend as Mama and Papa Fresian are popping over for the day on Tuesday. The following weekend is Easter, so I'm only working four days then too and then I have the next week after that off :j I also get paid the day before Good Friday and am getting my annual pay increase (small but perfectly formed) and 15 hours of time and a half overtime :D That's going to pay for our wee holiday to The North I think. I hope it will at least cover the diesel which is £1.50 per litre now

Nothing else really so I'm off to be very MSE by dying my own hair, then not so MSE by heading to the farmers market :D
