A very nice (if exhausting) day here in Fresian Towers.
I got the train up to Stirling to meet Fresian Parents and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they weren't wanting to head straight to the shops! We took a really nice drive around, stopping at Crieff and Auchterarder for a wee wander, then headed down towards Edinburgh as Mama Fresian wanted to shop *rolls eyes* We went around the shops in Livingston and I am now the proud owner of new trainers and some new plates/bowls. Thanks be to Mama Fresian as she wouldn't let me pay for anything all day
By the time I got home I was knackered (and will be off to bed soon) but thankfully I'd popped a chicken in the slow cooker before setting off this morning which meant a nice quick dinner for me when I got in. I'm going to strip the chicken carcass before bed (lovely job, lol!) so I can have chicken fried rice for dinner tomorrow, woo

What do you do with the chicken in the slow cooker? I've got an old one and can never think of much to do with it as DH isnt keen on beef casserole. One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Ooh you can do loads in a slow cooker - chilli is my favourite!
What I did yesterday was chop up two carrots then rinse a whole chicken under the tap quickly and put it on top of the carrots (If the meat doesn't rest on something then it can stick to the bottom of the cooker)
I poured some garlic granules and chicken stock cubes over the chicken then added about an inch of boiling water. I left it on the "low" setting for about 12 hours and it was flipping lovely. The meat just wandered off the bones and it was really easy to strip. We had loads left, and I made chicken fried rice for dinner tonight and there's still some left for something tomorrow.

Not a clue. It is possible. I'm not very good with technical stuff. Mr Fresian will be sent to Youtube tomorrow with instructions to diagnose our issues with heating0 -
Well in good news today, I made another mortgage overpayment which brings my total overpayments for the year up to £201.03, which I think is pretty blooming good. It works out at £50 per month, and if I can keep that up I'm sure it will have a positive effect on the repayment term.
I got a cheque through today for £10.20 which is a claim for dental work I had done earlier in the year. I'm going to put that towards the mortgage too :A

That chicken sounds good! I know some slow cookers can't be used "dry" and I'm not sure what sort mine is so would need to keep an eye on mince, but the chicken should be ok as long as I keep an eye on it the first time I try it.
Plus any excuse for egg fried rice.
Mortgage overpayments sound good, wish I could but its just not viable at the moment. Although I usually round up the regular monthly payment as I send it on internet banking. One day I'll overpay by more than a few pennies.

I have overpaid £200 already this year. If I can make it to £500 by the end of the year I'll be pretty proud of that, especially if my savings increase by then too

Anything overpaid while increasing savings and having a life is a bonus in this day and age. I have money due to me but it is slow coming but we are being reeally careful at the moment, bit of a business LBM really, we could have had a nice savings pot for cashflow but a bit spent here and there soon goes
.
I had a diary in my other name but it got a bit off money saving and more general life so I lost focus. Might have to go back to one as I need debt paying focus, trying to clear a small one will give me incentive to keep going. If we can keep the business running without credit cards and bank loans (which we have to do as no credit rating to get them :rotfl:) then once the cash flow balances out we will be be fine.
My swagbucks total is going up nicely, even if their seach facility is the worst I've ever tried .One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
