TI is owned by Phil Ruffin and is independent so that is why Dollar are staying there. I got my info from the most senior Dollar rep on the strip. She has a soft spot for Tony, so tells us everything she knows. 24 people will have lost their jobs by now.
Wow - I have used Dollar before and found them to be very helful and much cheaper than others. Looks like when I next higher a car in March, I'll be collecting it from Treasure Island!0 -
AugustHonestly, I've virtually ignored my family of late as a result of my LV research fro my upcoming trip on August 7th.
It is almost done.......hotel choices - the Tropicana, Tahiti Village and the Platinum.
Got good rates thanks to advice/info from Stu, Stoneman etc.
Just need to confirm the two options.... The plan at moment is either:
- Trop (2 nights), TV (3 nights) and Platinum (2 nights)
- TV (5 nights) and Trop (2 nights) or Platinum (2 nights)
Intend to confirm with deposits tomorrow - anyone got strong feelings about the two options?
We are 4 - inc. 2 boys 9 and 12.
Cheers0 -
Septemberemail clairenagel @ lvplatinum.com Tell her what you are doing and mention Andy and Tracy from the U.K.. She will get you a really good rate and upgrade you to a Princess I am sure. What is the cost per night with the package?
Thanks for that. Our 4 nights (fri 9-tue 13 sept) is £320 total, for princess suite strip view.
We've stayed 3 times, so we're spent some time there - never stayed there last year, although it is one of our favourites. I did send a message via their website the other night, but got no response. I'll try the email you have given though. We'd be thinking about adding 4 nights either before or after maybe. We do have a cracking rate of $30 at the Rio for the first 4 nights though, and $45-$90 for the last 4. We won't beat it, but I'm not sure I want to spend all of the 8 nights at the Rio (split into two fours with 4 at Platinum in the middle). I'll see how it goes. I can't match my £320 deal for the 4 nights now - it's much more.0 -

Are you going to have a car? That would make moving less painful apart from having to valet park at the Platinum.
I wouldn't recommend staying at more than 2 hotels in 7 nights. From experience, it's really not worth unpacking for less than 3 nights, especially with 4 of you.0 -

Julyhaving spent most of yesterday sleeping (!) thought I'd share a few highlights of our last week in LV!
went to the Palms to see Transformers at the Imax 3D... seemed a really nice hotel, although we didn't see any of the accommodation, the casino and amenities looked really nice... would definitely consider staying there now we've been a couple of times, even if it is off-Strip. i presume they run shuttle services to/from the Strip?
went to the Tropicana for the Gladys Knight show. the show was brilliant, really recommend it! and the hotel seemed great too, i know a few on here have rated it recently. the refurb (?) makes the place look really clean, fresh and contemporary... we ate in Cafe Nikki, although some of the entrees looked fairly pricey, we had had some reasonably-priced sandwiches which were huge and amazingly tasty.
the 'secret' pizza place in the Cosmopolitan is great! we went there for a slice before we headed for the airport... very tasty, and if you get a full pizza it looks great value!
got some great bargains at the premium outlets north, marginally better than the south one I think.
was interesting to see storms in LV! we were sat outside eating at Cabo Wabo (another great meal) when the rain hit, everyone had to dive inside... apart from one couple who braved it under cover of the umbrellas/awnings!
for flights, sitting in the 'mini cabin' just behind Premium economy was well worth it, was pretty quiet and you didn't get bothered by the masses!0 -

Totally agree, she does a good show! and the Trop is defo worth raving about, clean and looking good indeed! The rooms are awesome, especially the 2 room suite we had! Already trying to organise flights for our aniversary next June!0 -
