I've been tasked with looking into a Vegas trip, I've been before 5 years ago but it was part of a much bigger jaunt round the US so neve flew to LV from UK (I flew from San Diego for a few dollars).
Flights from Glasgow seem to be coming in around £700, flights from Manchester around £650 (with TC who I don't fancy at all), these are for unfixed dates in April/May next year, similar if I play about with Sept/Oct this year.
Is this simply how much it costs to get to Vegas now? Seems pretty steep to me :mad:0 -

Yep, the first time I wasn't sure (2008), the second time I planned - and loved it (2009), third time was a shortweekend with work that was great (2010) and we are getting married this time (2011).
We will also be back in 2012 and every year we leave thinking of more we can do from lazing by the pool to shows and fine dining.0 -

I booked yesterday with BA from Glasgow (last day of sale) for March 2012, prices were from £486 for midweek flights and £530 for a Sat - Sat flight which we booked. The dates for April and May were much more expensive as they cover Easter and some mid term holidays.
If you are flexible try March or the last week in August after the school holidays end as we've previously had decent prices from US airlines in August during their sale.0 -
Thank you!! You have no idea how good it is to have this information!
That is one area I'll do my best to avoid, though obviously cannot avoid everywhere or every possible occurence.
Any more information from anyone at all is greatly received!
x:)x
It'd be a shame to avoid the whole area because of the snake thing as there are some very cool places on the South Strip. Just walk on the other side of the road (Bellagio side) and you'll not even see the snake through the crowds and the traffic.0 -

Thanks for that info. I'm off on the 13th August and if I had come upon him unexpectedly I would give Usaine Bolt a run for his money!!! :rotfl:We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T :beer:0 -

Snakes don't bother me, but the card clickers peddling the hooker cards do. There's just so many of them now that when it's busy they're becoming a major obstruction. Some of the cheeky ones are even selling the t-shirts that they wear!
I thought that there were a lot of them when I was there in November but last week there were hundreds of them.0 -

It is also fairly close to the premium outlets south. You can also pick up a photo op at the welcome to vegas sign
That sounds perfect! Many thanks :T0 -

AugustOff to Vegas for 6 nights on 12th September staying at the Tropicana - can't wait! Haven't been to Vegas since 1991 - think I'm going to notice some changes!!
My daughter is looking to buy a Pandora bracelet and I was wondering whether it would be cheaper for me to get one for her out there?
On the same topic of shopping, my boyfriend hates shopping so reckon I'll only be able to drag him along on one shopping trip - which is the best outlet to visit?
Hi Dutchgirl - Pandora is quite a bit cheaper in America - if you go on the official pandora website - http://www.pandora.net/en-gb/explore/collections/moments - a few of the charms are the same in pounds as they are in dollars, especially the lower priced silver ones. You can switch to the US site at the bottom right of the page if you scroll down (remember you will have tax on top tho..think about 10%)
Also - im fairly sure in September they have a promo on, which is something like spend $100 in store and you get a free bracelet - it might be the cheaper clip one, but you can upgrade to the barrell one for $5 or so...if shes on facebook they have an official site which posts this type of stuff...or you can just ask. Which would work out v.cheap for a few charms and a bracelet.
I've been looking for when the promo is as we're there late August...but remember seeing i was just going to miss it.
There's a pandora in the Forum Shops and Fashion Show Mall0
