Woohoo:j Finally got Hotel booked for October. Got great deal of just over £800 for 9 nights at T.I. Tower Suites. Had been trying Priceline for last few weeks with "Name Your Own Price" for Venetian/Wynn/Palazzo as stayed at Venetian previously. Wasn't getting any joy so went with the T.I. option as stayed in Tower Suite before and it's a massive 930ft suite for less money. Had been looking also at Cosmopolitan but decided as I'm hitting the big 4-0 in Vegas, I might be a little too old for there:rotfl:0

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

AugustDo I need a car if I'm staying on the strip?
A popular question.....but this is my situation and I'm interested in your views....
2 adults and 2 boys (9 and 12), probably staying at the Tropicana. Key aim is to relax, swim, eat, relax....
The only thought is that I was planning to drive from LA airport to LV....0 -

Do you need a car....No
Is it better with a car...yes IMO
Do you mean you are flying in to LA, if so it is about a 5 hour, 300 mile trip to Vegas
Once in Vegas buses are plentiful and if you only want to stay on strip or thereabouts, then there is no need for a car, but I always have one to do trips to hoover dam, red rock, pinball museum, buffets further afield to name just a few things
Without a car, wont your boys get fed up with the relaxing?0 -
Julylive trip report
checked in and unpacked at Vdara!
flight wasn't bad at all, was delayed about 40mins but we had a groupon deal for the no1 lounge, so didn't mind.
i was a little let down by the no1 lounge, we had a bacon roll and could help yourself to the buffet, but that only consisted of 3x not-well-chilled juice, tea, coffee, muesli, cornflakes and rice crispies. they bought out one tray of a yoghurt/berries/granola thing while we were there... was hoping for some pastries, etc... but for £12 was good i guess!
flight went quite quickly really but the last couple of hours dragged... had seats 22d/e in the mini-cabin behind premium economy, which was good... there was a baby, but it was really well behaved so not a problem. food was ok.
we stayed the night before, flying at 11.25am, so did twilight check-in, so much easier. security in the morning was done in about 10mins. sitting at the front of the plane meant we went through immigration in minutes... we arrived at the hotel ($18 cab ride, great driver!) 60mins after touching down, pretty good i thought.
we'd booked a city corner suite and requested a fountains view, but they didn't have any of those suites available... so after a quick phone call to her boss, and no prompting from us, the girl on reception upgraded us to an exec corner suite... can't tell the difference to be honest and we have a view of the fountains, so go figure!
as above, have just seen the weather report on fox5... a 10% chance of rain in the next week and that's over the mountains! ave. 108 degrees for the next week
so will try to stay up for a few more hours, find something to eat and see what's going on nearby!
edit - went to Cheeseburger in Miracle Mile for dinner, always good value, great service and great food... a very easy place to get quick (but not fast!) food, so that did us good0
