MarchHi
Need to get to LV from LA airport - 4 in total.
Anyone flown this route?
Any advice?
try southwest.com...also worth checking expedia, etc. for US airlines that fly that route - though soutwest has a better baggage policy than most if not all...but for 4 of you, driving may be a better option, though not necessarily if you are driving immediately upon arrival...by the time you pay for the flights, and faff about with the getting to the airport, checking in, etc...then the flight...then collecting bags at LAS...there may not be that much in it timewise.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchSo we are now going August and October making it 4 trips this year.
Isn't it funny how Vegas draws most of of us back time and time again? You were saying not long ago you thought you would cut down on the trips to Vegas, that it had lost a bit of its shine.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
And on that note ferf already itching to book another trip, even with having to plan wedding! What's feb normally like in particular valentines day extra stuff going on???0

Hi
Have found flights for $320 (for all 4 of us with AA) leaving on the evening of arrival.
Agree with you re: faff potential and the fact I could get a car for that cost.
However, now our break has reduced from 18 days to 8.....may even go for hand luggage.
Also, I'm slightly concerned about the 5 hour drive eating into this reduced time away, especially as we'll be in no fit state to drive on arrival, so will have to go the following morning....we're travelling BA first (I know, AMEX vouchers and BA miles honest), so intend to be knocking back the champers!
Cheers

Yeah I know, but the last trip I made so much money that it drew me back again. It was either go now or lose our upgrade vouchers, and the fact we don't have to go from Gatwick:TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
back home after 18 mental days in vegas. yesterday was about as hot as we experienced during the whole stay.
ive still got an unused $50 voucher for Mix and some unused vouchers from the casino guide book, as well as $1500 in cash.
If anyone is interested in them let me know. the vouchers are free, but the $$$ aren't, sorry. If anyones wants the cash let me know an we'll sort something out.0 -
Hi again, I'm curious how people pay for their hotels in vegas - do you pre-book/pay via somewhere like expedia (and get cashback) or is it better to book directly with the hotel and pay in dollars? Trying to decide how to book this time around, I'm usually an expedia gal but note that booking directly with the hotel (Platinum) in this case gets us a later checkout and free wifi.0

AugustHi all,
Not sure if anyone will remember but I posted on the 2010 thread regarding a first trip to Vegas with my father.
Unfortunately due to some major family commitments, the trip planned for April never happened.
Anyone, now has come the time where we have an opportunity to go, and I just wanted to run through a few things.
The flight prices seemed to have dramatically risen since my last searches last year, but like everything else I suppose that is to be expected.
Firstly we have decided to fly direct from Manchester with Virgin. We have searched around, finding the flights for £1300.00. This gives us 11 days in Vegas at the end of August/ beginning of September. (Leaving Manchester on the 29th August, leaving Vegas on the 9th September, getting back into the UK on the 10th of September).
We have also decided to split the 11 nights between two hotels. We will spend the first 6 nights in the Flamingo (GO room), for a cost of $395.00. Leaving the Flamingo, we will spend the remaining 5 nights in the Cosmopolitan (City room), for the cost of $1020.
The above incorporates two hotel offers. 20% at the Flamingo, and a night free at the Cosmo.
We plan to mix things up from gambling, shows, shooting ranges, shopping, a Grand Canyon visit and hopefully eating some good food.
I just want to run through what else I need to do.
We both have valid ESTA's, my fathers passport is currently being renewed and we both have the time available to us!
I know I need to research vouchers/coupons in further detail, but is there anything major I have forgotten?
Thanks in advance,

Pay whichever way is the cheapest, for us it is usually direct with the hotel and just paying one nights deposit which is fully refundable, if you go that route make sure you use the right CC, ie Post Office, Halifax Clarity or one other, I think it Santander Zero!?
But just recently some of the third party bookers have been cheaper.
Have you emailed the contact that Stoneman posted, thats probably your best bet0
