It's worth a look, but nothing really special. Last time we went, there was a nice little shop that sold natural stones and rock - like desert rose etc that was worth popping in and having a browse.
It's one of those places that you can stop off in and get some fresh air and take in the quiet away from the Vegas hustle and bustle IYSWIM. It's a nice run out that way.

is there a museum/neighbourhood that is still set in the 1930s, or something of that ilk... I think that's what the OH was interested in (if it exists!)

we come from somewhere full of fresh air and peace&quiet, so good to know that's what BC is like... and not to bother ;)

    something like Oatman?

which is a bit more ghost town'ish perhaps - a much further drive from Vegas than Boulder City is though (2 and a half hours approx from Vegas) :)

Went to Bonnie Springs after visiting Red Rock, as they are both only 30 minutes or so out of the strip.

Was ok, hardly expensive. And the entry fee (think it was $5 but could have been $10 each..:o)covers you for the zoo(basic) and the old town where they put on shows etc. Didn't catch a show as it was too hot to sit around in the sun, but passed an hour or so. There's a restaurant/diner, souvenir shops etc and a mini railway(although not working while we were there)

But apparently, it's non-profit making, but even so hardly going to break the bank.

Just returned from a Vegas and LA trip over the Easter holidays. Don't think I'd be able to write a trip report, so thought I'd list a few good and bad points to payback the information and tips I've taken from this forum.

Flew direct with Virgin from Gatwick. Cost about £470 2000 points. Flight outbound was very good, managed to get in the small front section of economy.

Stayed at Vdara for the first 3 nights. Got the City Corner Suite offer for $115 a night + tax + resort fee. The room was very large, with kitchen (useful filtered water tap in fridge), lounge, bedroom and double sink bathroom. Windows surround the suite with a view of Aria and the I-15. As the news reports have said, the pool area is very hot. Weather reports said the temperature was 30c, but it felt hotter. My phone locked with a temperature warning - which apparently only happens at 45c+

Ate at Earl of Sandwich and Cheesecake Factory very good as usual. Tried the Cosmopolitan buffet for breakfast $17. I'm not a big fan of buffets, but really liked this one. Queue was about 30 mins, I'd recommend arriving just before the lunch switch over (11AM).

Collected a car from Dollar Bellagio. £75 from US Rent a car including full tank fuel etc for 3 days. Got free upgrade to a full size SUV, it was a brand new Chevy something. Drove to LA stopping at Primm and Hesperia (In n Out and Target). Found the drive much easier than I imagined. Including stops, took about 5 hours.
...2 days in LA, doing Universal, Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
Then driving back to Vegas with just one stop, but traffic getting out of LA added about an hour.

Stayed at MGM Signature for last 3 nights (in Sat & Sun) book through LSI. Total $380 inc tax and resort fees. First time I'd had a balcony at the Signature. In tower 3, so easy walk to the strip outside. Although the room was smaller, and less modern, still think I prefer Signature to Vdara.

Went to Town Square on the SDX bus, prices seemed cheaper than the stip. Many stores has 40% off everything.
Also used a restaurant.com voucher of House of Blues, very good meal.

Bad points were: 'Serendipity 3' - too expensive and 'Wabo Cabo' - expensive and poor quality. Aria was a bit boring ...oh, and had to wait about hour and a half for bag drop with Virgin, the queue was massive, and only one person on the desk, despite the now being a Manchester and Gatwick flight at almost the same time.

The '$1 - 1 Water' people seem to be slowly replacing the card slappers!

I'll try and link a couple of photos...

Thanks for posting - we like Serendipity 3 (though do agree that it's overpriced) but also didn't find Cabo Wabo to be particularly interesting. On the bag drop thing - this is exactly why we drop our bags when the desk opens at 11 and head back to the strip...I could not bear to stand in a queue like that...what time did you arrive, out of curiosity? So I can be sure never to do it. :) I'm surprised that there was only one person - even at 11 there are usually 2 or 3 people behind the desk.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
