Watching videos about flights and the accompanying noises, the whirring, clunks, high pitched whines are all part of the normal noises that planes make when moving about and/or flying.
not sure if they still do it, but Virgin certainly used to have a video on the Vegas flight, explaining about the clunks, wings bending etc

Joining Flyertalk and reading about the numerous perks that can be got via flying...managed to accrue over 100,000 BA miles and we've only flown with them once...
ooh, interesting, how've you done that? Through Credit Card spends (etc) I assume? Any tips / hints / pointers? :)

I have just managed to speak to someone at travelzoo about the Nove $99 club and meal deal. You will be charged tax on $310 at the time you get the check from the restaurant then that leaves you to decide how much tip to leave. I am canceling this now and anyone else that has taken the deal who wants to back out must email them today or tomorrow as that is the 7th day after the deal.
You need to email localdeals@travelzoo.com and mention that you want to cancel under the 7 day cancelation promise stating your voucher number.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We got over 150,000 miles by buying and selling phones, dongles and CD's and aquiring Tesco points, then converting them to BA miles during the double redemption period. Made a net loss of £43 on the goods but got 2 CW seats to Vegas in May.

Thanks for finding this out Stoneman, I will be cancelling to, am assuming if I email as you said then a refund will be issued to my card? I have never booked a deal with them before.

Mainly Tesco points and a AMEX charge card promotion.

Had quite a few points from old Tesco promo's when it used to be good for collecting points, got 40,000 from signing up for the Amex Platinum card, £300 annual fee and a conditional spend within 3 months. Points awarded via charge card purchases, converted into membership rewards and then converted again into BA miles.
The flight we took got points, plus on the British Airways site, join the Executive Club and then there's a BA online shop on there which also converts purchases into points. Anything on ebay I buy now I go through the BA shop.

All takes a bit of thinking about but Flyertalk, the British Airways thread explains it all in their sticky.

Other airlines and air miles collecting strategies are available.:D

I now have over a 100,000 BA miles and that's after using 50,000 for the last flight upgrades.

I do e-rewards surveys and do enough surveys to get 2,000 Virgin Flying Club miles every quarter.

I also did the "refer a friend" thing for our hairdresser and her hubby who flew Upper Class on their first trip. :)

Yes I went. She was superb. Got my ticket from Tix4tonight at 0900 and went straight to the Tropicana to book my seat.

Don't waste your money on the general admission, unusually it's a first come, first served seating arrangement. And when the seating is by table the early birds will get the best seats. Go for the VIP, it's approx $50 a seat, get to the hotel early and ask for either a booth where all the seats face the stage, or the front seats of a table. She is on at 8 Tues-Thurs and 9pm Fri-Sat. No shows Sun or mon. (ps if the box office at the theatre isn't open when you get to the hotel try the front desk).

thank you :T great to know it was a good show, look forward to it even more!

was looking at the VIP tickets as it goes, as would love a seat close to the stage. looking at the tickets which Ticketmaster has as 'best available', they have specific/guaranteed tickets for the tables of 4 in front of the stage. would these be good ones to get?

despite this being the MSE site, I think I'd rather spend a few extra $$$ to know which seats I'm getting :)

and random question... what's the dresscode (if any)?

Try asking your doctor for a Valium tablet

I agree, go and ask your doctor for some Valium. Explain how terrified you are and that it us a trip of a lifetime but you are getting too stressed already.

An anti-histamine won't work, they just make you drowsy and help some people sleep (however, you can buy Paracetemol with an anti histamine in it in the US which I find good when you're ill, the branded name is Tylenol Night or you can buy the generic Walgreens own brand for less).

Yes that is my understanding from their T&C's
