Now the really fun day, thanks to tingtong for suggesting this. Outdoor shooting, you will need a car to get to this place but why not hire one for the day, it's about 30 to 45 minutes out towards Boulder city. http://www.shootingsafaris.com/ Tom is a really nice guy, we shot for a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours for $85. It was us who called it a day, he was happy to stay there all day. Picture below is Tracy with a colt 45 I think.
And me just blasting away at some targets. We had to use this pit as they were filming CSI on the range, there were 2 helicopters hovering over us most of the time, really cool. Just look at the arey of guns you get to play with. We already have him booked for early June when we are going on the range and I am doing some trap shooting, the most fun thing we ever did in Vegas for sure
Just wondering if anyone had any alternate contact details for this, or information as to whether it was still going?
The http://www.shootingsafaris.com/ website doesn't appear to be working for me (not sure if this is an intermitant problem?), and i tried phoning few times over the past couple of days, and it just rings through to voicemail?
Any ideas anyone?
(got the phone number from here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&rlz=1T4GGLL_en-GBGB302GB302&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=%22shooting+safaris%22+%22las+vegas%22&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=%22shooting+safaris%22&hnear=Las+Vegas,+NV,+USA&cid=2935050799328757213 - seems to be correct as voicemail is 'This is Tom Kock from shooting safaris, leave a message' (or something like that))0 -
OctoberYes the guy is called Tom. He told us that the shooting range he used was closing because the landlord wanted more rent, but that was a couple of years ago.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

We tip $15-$20 total for the bell man/woman either side for our helping with our luggage (2 or 3 suitcases). :rotfl: We tip when the luggage arrives at the room if checking in, or if we're checking out, once we're packed into our car rental or cab. Am I tipping too much? lolThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. SeptemberBuffet question. Are the drinks self service at buffets? I'm taking about the Rio if it makes any difference.It's someone else's fault.0

Assume you mean soft drinks and the like? As far as I can remember from when we went to the Rio buffet in September, no they're not self-service, the waiter/waitress brings them to your table. Unlimited refills though and I THINK soft drinks etc are included in the price you pay for the buffet, I could be wrong about that though...seem to remember we were a bit confused about it at the time!0

MayThe bell hops like to run this little scam. When you call them over to your car to get the bags, they expect a tip. When the bags get up to your room they want another tip, except that they pool tips, so you are paying twice for the bags to get from your car to the room. That is why we tip $2 a bag, $1 when he collects from car, and another $1 when it gets to the room. Same amount of tip but split up to keep them sweet.
So you are tipping the SAME as I quoted but accusing me of tipping light ? (Although for a 32lb monster bag I woudn't tip a dollar-If I can't lift it -the tip is more) Not sure why you are tipping the bell desk "for storage" as well-I don't see why you'd need to even go to the bell desk. Hand bag to bell hop upon arrivial at hotel-tip $1 per bag -when you call for the bags (regardless of if it's 10 minutes or several hours later) from the room-tip another dollar per bag on delivery. Nope can't see what you are doing that is different to what I do (except have more and heavier bags
)
Mid-priced buffets I usually tip a couple of dollars a head and round up so for two people $5 unless clearing/drinks service is poor then it's exactly $2 pp. For exceptional service I ramp it up a bit higher.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Yes most buffets refill at the table -yes they are free although generally you pay for beer/wine etc . Some weekend bruches include champagne -but that's obviously priced differently anyway.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I just looked on TA about tipping. Housekeeping was suggested at $1-$2 per day and I always leave $5 each day (left $10 in cosmo as it was a bigger suite) and $2 for turn down if the hotel has it. We left 20% tip in restaurants as I believe 18% is the general rule these days. We also leave $10 for server at buffets. We tipped A LOT this trip, so it would be good to hear what others tip to see if we're way too high in the tipping stakes as it was never ending this trip, asn we seemed to tip more than we had on previous trips.......
You must have everyone waiting on you hand and foot, I dont tip anywhere near as much as you and still get good service with a smile.
$10 for buffet server :eek:
Me... I tip $2/$3
$5 and $10 for maid :eek:
Me..$2 a day unless I ask for more potions etc and then I leave $5 and usually end up with about 3 bottles of everything per day
$15 to $20 for 3 cases :eek::eek::eek::eek:
Me... $1 per case
You must have to much money0 -
