AugustI am planning, for the first time, to switch hotels while in las vegas. From reading this board it seems quite a lot of people on here have done this.
Would people recommend it? Has anyone every felt that they have 'lost' a day of their holiday because of any hassle it has created?
I am going for 10 days, will probably stay somewhere on the south of the strip (Monte Carlo / MGM) for 7 days then move to Wynn/Encore for last 3 nights.
Possible a stupid question but after checking out of first hotel will the Wynn/Encore store my bags until check in time?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
You may find the room is ready at the second hotel, if it isnt the bell desk will keep your bags for you.
Only place I have had trouble getting a room early and had long check in queues is the Flamingo but Duchy has a way around that0 -
November / DecemberI think that MGM Grand was the worst for us. They seemed to avoid giving us a room key for ages. That was a couple of years ago though.0

Marchthe longest queue to check-in we ever had was at Luxor - it took maybe 25-30 minutes all in, but looking at the queue, we thought 2 hours...it was insane.
You can't see it all that well in the photo, but this was the queue snaking back into the casino. Once we got through this part it was the back and forth and back and forth queue...but they had 2 guys at the front of the queue keeping an eye on when a space at the desk was available and directing the next person straight to it - it was really well organized at least
Checking out, we use the check out on the telly 90% of the time - just much easier...if we're going to use points to cover off any charges we try to do it the night before to avoid the queues.
But a couple of trips ago my hubby had points to use and we thought we had a balance due so he went down the morning we were checking out of Caesars...I think it was 45 minutes and it was a nightmare - no real order to it, no proper queuing system so it was pot luck - if you picked the wrong line, you were screwed.
We've been lucky in our room moves, have never had to wait for our room - but we do request a late check-out when we can. We've also never moved on a Sunday - I would imagine that would be the worst day as Saturday night occupancy will be high and a lot of people will be pushing their check-out as late as they can. I normally try to make check-out morning laundry morning as well, so we're not moving dirty clothes.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We generally stay in two hotels we often spend a few days at the Golden Nugget but also have done recently MGM/Wynn Venetian/Encore and some other trips Excalibur/MGM/Mirage /Luxor. We have never had a problem checking in early and leaving bags. Check in is the worst thing about MGM in fact it is probably the only thing that I dont like about it however the system at MGM i think is the best when your room is not ready they give you the keys but no room number and then you call a number at 2pm and they give you the number.
At Wynn or Encore you will have no problems I have to say though I prefer WynnIts Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -
just a heads up, that although the front page http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/ isn't updated, their Twitter feed is regularly kept up to date http://twitter.com/#!/VegasHotelDeals as are the sub pages of the main site (ie. click on MGM Grand and the latest MGM Grand offer is listed)0

ditto
I've also checked in and got a room stupidly early at IP-handy as we only wanted it as a day room to dump our bags in and shower as we were flying out at midnight-cost all of £10 with TR discount. That was a fun but tiring day-we flew overnight to NYC-spent the day in Manhattan doing the Duck tour and a bit of shopping before heading back to JFK to fly home.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Thanks in advance for any advice. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
