+1 for this (the one past Town Square)... picked up 2 pairs of Adidas trainers (his and hers) and a bundle of sports socks for $50. I'm pretty sure there was a Skechers outlet in there too...

Oh yeah, that's a great Skechers store in the Outlet Mall. They usually have a buy one pair, get a pair half price offer. Myself and DH always bag a bargain in there. The staff are brilliant too, very helpful, because if they know your British they work on British sizes not the US ones.
The Levi's shop there isn't bad either. Very first time we went to Vegas, I got 3 pairs of jeans, 2 blouses and a denim jacket for $90. A jacket alone over here would cost as much as that there. Fill ya boots ;)
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

    Hello guys
I have shopping question. We are going to USA next Thursday, travelling around California for 13 days, then 4 days in Vegas.
I'm now franticly running round shops, trying to get decent price trainers (under £30) and swim costume..:undecided
Am I better off waiting for when we get to US (LA, San Diego, San Fran)? Is it still truth what people used to say few years back that clothes is cheaper in USA?
I'm not too interested in expensive brands..Maybe just Sketchers trainers..

If you are driving south from San Fran around Cali there's a huge outlet mall just north of LA just off the Pacific Coast Highway (Route 1) in a place called Camarillo. San Fran was really quite expensive in comparison to the other area's (and colder too, especially in the evenings).

If not, wait 'til Vegas-we found the best bargains there on our trip.

for good deals, it may be worth keeping an eye on:-

    http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals/Las-Vegas/deals
    http://www.groupon.com/las-vegas/

    Missus has been the following:
    - Luxor
    - Bellagio
    - Wynn / Encore
    - Mandalay Bay
    - MGM
(possibly been others but i don't pay attention to that sort of thing!)

From recollection, her fave out of those was the Bellagio one.

Its only my opinion but seeing a show on the second night is not a great idea as you will still be tired (I would be)

On the first evening I would struggle to sit in a 3 hour happy hour to, dont forget that 4pm Vegas time which realistically is about the time you will get to the hotel, is midnight our time

Also the firts morning you have said bfast at Ellis Island NY. What does NY stand for, its not in NYNY if that is what you were thinking.

I wouldnt plan anything else for the free time as you may need some downtime, shopping time and gambling time

Ditto re above, honestly the jet lag is phenomenal, hits you out of nowhere so I'd go steady too over first few days. The other point I suppose I'd make is that you don't seem to have any leeway on some things, honestly half the fun is spotting places, things to see, allsorts that just catch your eye, from a place to eat, a drink to try....anyway just have a blast as I'm sure you will.

And I thought I was bad for planning in advance :rotfl:
I'm trying desperately not to get 5 restaurant.com vouchers and tell my OH those are the places we're eating the 5 nights we're there (he can choose what order!)
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard

Apart from EI not being at NYNY as already pointed out, you won't get a champagne brunch on a Wednesday morning as far as I know. They are normally only available Sat and Sun mornings.

Agree about not doing a show the first 2-3 nights.

If you are desperate to do happy hours I would suggest Blondie's in the Miracle Mile as it is more central and it looks like you are darting all over the place, eg Stratosphere then Mandalay Bay on the same day.

Have to disagree with others about the second night show. As long as you get a decent sleep on your first night you'll be fine. I've never had jet lag on my outward journey but most times flying home. Guess we're all different.
    It's someone else's fault.
