Thats what we do, but we dont dress up. Thats another story, dont tell stoneman that we/you go out to eat in shorts/casual;).
We only tip $1 dollar a bag to bring to room and we take our own bags the other way and if we have to leave at bell desk again its $1 a bag, so 3 bags = $6 to change hotels, or nothing if we go to Orleans as we park outside door in outside parking lot and carry our own.0 -

Us too, in general...though I will normally get out 3-4 shirts/top each and iron them and hang them...but most stays in the case.
And I really only do that much ironing at once so it means that in the morning I can be out of the hotel room and down to the casino quickly - a) for cigarette while hubby is getting ready and b) for slots while hubby is getting ready.
But we do have a dirty clothes pile as well, but when we don't do laundry, all the clean unworn clothes get thrown in one case and the dirty in another...so clothing-wise, packing isn't that bad.
Even still, I do find the packing up to move to be a bit of hassle so I can see why some don't want to bother...while most of our unworn clothes are still packed, we do have all our toiletries, electronics, crap we've bought so far that trip and just the miscellanous shrapnel that seems to thrive in our hotel rooms. We don't pack light and we seem to accumulate quickly. I try to start the packing gradually, starting to shift things back into cases a a day or two before the move.
BUT, I do remember the first time we moved - 2nd hotel for last 3 nights...I did laundry that morning so all clothes were clean other than what we were wearing the day of the move...while packing up to move to the 2nd hotel was bit annoying in corralling all the crap we had with us, since we had less time at the 2nd hotel, and were always conscious that we were leaving soon, packing up to go home was much quicker than normal as we didn't have everything strewn across the room.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberWe've just got back from our first 2 hotel trip - after 20-odd nearly doing it but not wanting the hassle - I was dreading it but it was so quick and easy.
Late check out at Paris booked in the early hours to avoid queues, clean case/dirty case packed in less than 15 minutes, checkout on TV. Taxi to Cosmopolitan (50% tip because of short journey), cases to bell desk, check-in 10 minutes and up to room, cases up to room within 5 minutes. We didn't unpack at the Cosmo as it was only for 2 nights.
It was worth the extra tipping for the novelty value and we loved the Cosmo. We got Paris comped for 5 nights and W/E for $110, the extra 2 nights worked out considerably more expensive to stay at Paris than moving to the Cosmo, so what we saved on the room we spent on tips. We're planning on doing the same in June now it was so easy.0 -
March1) Does every passenger have their own inflight entertainment system on-flight?
2) Are alcoholic drinks for free with AA or do we have to pay
on their 777s, yes, seat-back TV...
You can have a look at what movies may be on offer here - to May:

you have to pay for alcoholic drinks and they do not accept cash on-board, only cards. List of beverages they have

MarchJust thought I'd add to the moving hotels bit....
We've moved hotels many times and we like having the opportunity to try other hotels, as we only get out about once a year (not as often as some of you guys, or as much as we'd like). We like the diversity and ability to move around locations on the strip and find it little hassle to move hotels. It also helps to take advantage of good hotel offers.....
I also like to unpack our cases, so we'd now want 4-5 nights in a hotel before considering a move so you feel 'settled in'.....
Cosmo has express check our screens next to the bell desk, so you can view and pay your bill and not have to queue to check out. Was quick and easy.
Oh you don't tip/pay anything extra for storage-so even with four bags you'd be tipping a dollar a bag so $16 (say $20 if you don't carry singles) not $40
We tip $15-$20 total for the bell man/woman either side for our helping with our luggage (2 or 3 suitcases). :rotfl: We tip when the luggage arrives at the room if checking in, or if we're checking out, once we're packed into our car rental or cab. Am I tipping too much? lolLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
MarchI suppose we got put off moving hotels when we did a tour of Vegas, San Francisco, LA and then back to Vegas, obviously we had packed far too much (a trick I'm still on a learning curve) which made it a pain really.
This trip we were in one place for 2 weeks as we were for last trip, I was easy about shuffling hotels a bit but hubby said no as he didn't want to have to think about repacking and checking in places.
Next trip I think we'll pack light and shuffle a bit, we now hire a car, so it shouldn't be a problem.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

MarchHey triker, I haven't manged to start it yet. Work's getting in the way and I'm really, really struggling to get out of bed in the mornings..... :rotfl: Still aiming to have it written this weekend.
I just looked on TA about tipping. Housekeeping was suggested at $1-$2 per day and I always leave $5 each day (left $10 in cosmo as it was a bigger suite) and $2 for turn down if the hotel has it. We left 20% tip in restaurants as I believe 18% is the general rule these days. We also leave $10 for server at buffets. We tipped A LOT this trip, so it would be good to hear what others tip to see if we're way too high in the tipping stakes as it was never ending this trip, asn we seemed to tip more than we had on previous trips.......Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
MarchRe tipping, I left $5 for the server at the one buffet I went to, it was only me, hubby was too busy playing blackjack.
We left an envelope with I think about $25/30 possibly more, can't remember now, when we left the Carriage House, all restaurants we tipped at least 20% sometimes more, like if it was an $11 bill, we'd leave $5 tip...this was usually at Ellis Island where food was never expensive.
The couple of taxis we used, tipped prob about 20% plus, usually over as both our taxi drivers were great and we didn't want to get out!
Cocktail waitresses I tipped initially $2/3 dollars sometimes $4 or $5, then either $2 or $1 thereafter.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
