And onto hotels! I have kind of set my heart on the mgm signature, dont know why and am happy to be swayed! The pool area is really important to us as we will be mainly sunbathing during the day and going out in the evenings. I really loved all the options (and lack of shade) at the mgm pool area. Not many people mention the pools on this thread (different strokes and all that I know) but would be interested in any feedback please
We love Signature were going again for 11 nights in Sept and one of the main reasons we like it is cos we like our pools days... Sun doesnt pop over towers 2 & 3 till 12ish at that time of year (earlier round tower 1 though) but we usually go down to MGM pools for a few hours on a morning then move round to the Sig pools about 11ish. Frogitts right you can fly Manchester to Vegas now with Virgin we got in early and got a m+m flight for just under £480 same flight now is something like £822 :eek:0 -

we,ve just booked for october to fly from manchester, and the cheapest flights i could find were with thomas cook. you can book flight only or the whole package no problem. They were way cheaper than virgin or B.A. We booked through "going places" £595 pp direct. Going to to book the hotel later when the deals come out.! that way we have more choice and flexibility, u can stil go back to "going places" to book your hotel though, if you want the extra reasurance of going through a travel agent.0 -

We fly from Manchester, used to do BMI direct but they have now stopped that flight. Have done Thomas Cook direct twice, we werent expecting much and it was ok, IFE is not on demand but I dont use it too much so not a big concern for me. Didnt do meals as dont want to pay £12 ish for rubbish food, so get boots meal deal in airport and that suits us.
I would recommend getting the seats towards the back where it goes 2-3-2 even if you cant get the 2 choose the 3 as there is more room and you dont get bashed by the trollies. Some people wouldnt recommend back of plane because of queue at immigration but it goes fairly quick maybe estas made a bit of difference.
This time (4 days to go!) were going direct with Virgin from Manchester many on here dont like the LGW Virgin but im hoping with it being a new route they may want to prove themselves but not alot of competition fron TC so we'll see. I will let you know how it goes.
We have flown indirect but much prefer direct so do pay more for it.
As for pools we used to spend the day at the pool then go out on an evening but now we just seem to be out all the time! Only got experience of and only my opinion
Planet Hollywood = 2 rectangle pools but no fancy theme or anything exciting. Young crowd 20-30s, sometimes live bands.
Paris= Roundish shape only 1 pool again not over exciting.
MGM= as you know but too busy for me!
Mandalay Bay= One of the better ones. wave machine, beach, lazy river but does get busy.0 -

Low cost USA Cosmo = £347 (one bedroom) and Mirage £323
Hotel themselves Cosmo£345 and mirage £311
I was a bit suprised not much difference. Will hang of and keep checking this site, great trip reports etc and advice. Can't wait!!:j
I have the Mirage booked for 3 nights in Aug, booked direct with hotel through a link from http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/ for $63 a night plus resort fee, that is much less than you have been quoted but that deal has finished, just pointing out that there are deals out there but you have to look on a daily basis. That deal was only on for a couple of days and it is fully refundable0 -

Am definitely looking for some kind of luxury, not keen on the whole circus circus imperial palace type options
Finally, budget - At the moment, everything I am looking at is coming in at around the £1200 - £1400 mark pp (theres 2 of us) In an ideal world I would like to get it down to the £1k each mark (just under I would love) or £1200 each with a direct flight. Am I being overly optimistic?? Am happy to search like crazy for a good deal but im not sure I have the balls to wait until last minute in case we dont get to go!
Any help or thoughts gratefully appreciated, apologies for a mammoth first post, I have waffled on a bit there sorry!
Budget!
You want a nice hotel with a nice pool.
IMO best hotel with best pool combo is Mandalay Bay , Signature, and then Caesers Palace
There are many other options for a nice hotel but the pool wont be so good.
14 nights in any of the above is going to come in at a minimum of $100 a night for weekdays and more for weekends so give or take a few dollars, the hotel IMO would cost around $1600 to $1800, that is just a benchmark figure to help you with budget0 -
OctoberTheres one nude club that serves booze isnt there?
I don't know if there is. But the law used to state that if you apply for a liquor licence the girls gotta keep their panties on.:DThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Youre right thats the law now. But I think there is one club that has grandfathered rights to do booze and bits.illegitimi non carborundum0

AugustWhen it comes to adult clubs a few mates of mine could be called experts. Saphires is the one they went to, got a limo to pick them up. One mate spent $300 just for a lap dance with one girl, another went to a private room and spent $700! There are a few up the Circus Circus end of town where in simples terms a few big guys hung you upside down by your ankles until your money is goneHi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
