    hi,

Just thought i'd put this out as a warning to anyone staying (or playing) at the Imperial Palace.

Ive just had a week there, and played poker mainly, but on 2 occasions i had a spin on the roulette. On each occasion i got $100 in chips and stuck 5 stacks of $20 across 2 numbers. First time, one of my numbers come in so thats $20 at 17/1, and the croupier pushes $240 towards me. I question it straight away, saying it surely should be $340, and he apologises and i get the extra $100.
The 2nd time, different day, different roulette table, different croupier, same again i get lucky and one of my numbers comes in, and AGAIN the croupier starts to count out my winnings, and pushes $240 towards me. I ask him to try again, he says "its $240" and even shows me a card with the odds as 17/1 and saying "$20 on, 17/1, thats $240"!
Can I suggest you increase your odds/payout by having $50 on each number rather than $100 across two numbers.

Also, I tend to tip on a BJ. I noticed that when playing low rent BJ tables overnight, I saw a number of dealer errors......in my favour. Usually when Ive got four or five low cards and the dealer sticks on 17 or 18.

Coincidence.....possibly. I rationalised it by assuming that I probably miss more errors against me than for me.

    My connection is JFK......

I don't even know what is involved during the time from landing and taking off again! Am i right in thinking we don't have to collect our luggage during a return connection?

I've never flown Delta, but others have, so I'm sure someone will confirm if they will move you to the next flight for free.

You're right that you won't see your bags until you get back to the uk, so that will help with the time issues. The only thing to consider is how stressful it might be for you and the kids have to sprint through the airport :rotfl: It might be worth checking when the next flight is, as if it's not going to make it an excessively long wait, you might prefer to move to a later one. Just a thought..... :)
(It's also good to know that there is another one, and you won't be stranded overnight.... )

I'll be staying at Cosmo when we arrive in Vegas next Saturday. Normally, I'd pick up a car on day 1 or 2, but as lots of people will be staying the weekend after CES, I'm going to wait til Monday to avoid the extra traffic. I'll need a few shopping supplies though (yogurts, fruit, toiletries, juice etc). Can someone remind me what's within walking distance? I'm pretty sure there's a CVS at the corner to Monte Carlo, but not sure if that's a pharmacy only. Can anyone advise where the nearest 'mini supermarkets' are around Cosmo?

If you are going to stay at a hotel at the airport the night before, you could use twilight check-in which we think is great...open from noon (I think, maybe 1?) until 9pm...check in, get rid of your cases, get your boarding cards...and then you don't have the faff of the queues in the morning. Just have to be sure that your carry-on has what you will need that night and liquids are in small enough containers.

We use online check-in pretty much when it opens 24 hours before, then twilight check-in when flying from LGW. On the way back, we check in online when it opens or shortly thereafter...then go to the airport (we always have a car), park in the lot across from T2, check in so we get rid of our cases and get our boarding cards, then head back to the strip for a few hours before returning the car and getting the shuttle back to T2 to go through security..

    Fab tip, thanks a lot.

Can I please ask if the Virgin flight from Gatwick flying at 11.25 is from South terminal? Trying to arrange transport for 10 and think National Express is about the cheapest from Wales. Thank you for all your help, still haven't figured how to book seats as yet, TC gave me a 6 digit code but doesn't seem to work! Getting wary now so will phone TC in the morning tried Virgin but they said to go back to TC,sorry for the rambling , bed is calling!!lol

If you haven't yet sorted your seating - what you need is the Locator Number - which is the number airlines recognise for a booking. The airline won't a recognise TC reference number.

We're with Virgin and booked our LV trip a year in advance (at time of booking) and we weren't able to obtain the Locator Number until 11 months before departure. 11 months before departure I rang Virgin and asked for the Locator Number - I was then able to access our booking online and choose our seats.

Just had a look at my Delta itinary online and the return times have changed meaning there is only 51 minutes between connections

It says i might miss my connection and i may be able to change my flight if i ring up.

Is 51 minutes do-able with 2 kids in tow? If i do miss the connecting flight will they just put us on the next one for free?

Travelling with two kids I'd give them a call and change it now-they will put you on "the next *available* flight-however one time I was delayed and just about everyone missed their connections although I got in at midnight instead of 4pm I know some people didn't get on a flight til the next morning-and as it was deamed a "weather" delay had to pay for their own hotel .

Better to change it now and know you'll make the connection.

Thanks for that and to Mookybargirl. I've rang Delta who said i need at least an hour between flights and to ring the travel agent who i booked the flights through. I've tried Thomas Cook but they are busy so i'll try again later.

    Kellyt1981- for children

The Silverton casino has a free large aquarium in the entrance, they have feeding 3 times a day and live "mermaids" are there at scheduled times (check website for times) your children might like it depending on their age. There is a huge bass shop next to it, it sells mainly fishing and hunting gear but my boys (9 and 13) enjoyed looking round and theres's a kids shooting target game, coin operated 25c. It is off strip but not difficult to drive to.

Town Square is also nice for a visit it has a free small play area with water jets (may only be summer with the water, we were there in August). I had 1 playing in there and the older 1 in the Apple store across from the park. They have Easter events on for kids, 23/04 easter egg hunt and family day, all info on website. There is also a cinema.

My youngest likes a trip to toys r us as they can buy things that aren't available in the uk. We go to the one on S Maryland Parkway.

We are also going in April sans enfants, back in August with them!:)

Sorry can't help with the flight issue, we fly direct.

All great ideas, thanks. We don't have a car for the whole trip so Town Square might be out. Will definately try and get to the Silverton.

The CVS by Monte Carlo has food and drinks. Across the street there is a Walgreen's and an ABC store.

To be honest, I think that the ABC stores inside the Miracle Mile might be closer for you. I haven't been since Cosmo opened, but think that the main entrance is close to Bellagio, therefore closer to MM.
