JuneFerf... bit of advice on the car stuff/airport please!
I got a car with Dollar, returning at 8:30pm on the Friday... Flight leaves for Orlando at 11pm.... Am guessing the Tropicana want us out on the Friday by 11am, so does that mean i could check our bags in with 'Delta' at say 11am ish, then just go through with Hand luggage later in the evening when i come back to the airport ?0 -
SeptemberLog into your booking, pull up the seat map and also www.seatguru.com - and see what makes the most sense of what's left... not sure where I would suggest 10 people sit as I've never travelled in that large a group...but if you all want to be seated in the same general area probably best to get in there ASAP and scope out what's available.
If you are going to stay at a hotel at the airport the night before, you could use twilight check-in which we think is great...open from noon (I think, maybe 1?) until 9pm...check in, get rid of your cases, get your boarding cards...and then you don't have the faff of the queues in the morning. Just have to be sure that your carry-on has what you will need that night and liquids are in small enough containers.
We use online check-in pretty much when it opens 24 hours before, then twilight check-in when flying from LGW. On the way back, we check in online when it opens or shortly thereafter...then go to the airport (we always have a car), park in the lot across from T2, check in so we get rid of our cases and get our boarding cards, then head back to the strip for a few hours before returning the car and getting the shuttle back to T2 to go through security.
A few others here do the same...we find it much more relaxing to know that most of the annoying stuff is done.
Can't figure how to book the seats asking for my ref no, so I've put TC one in and it won't accept it, can't even get to seating lay-out, any ideas where I'm going wrong please? TIA

MayCall Delta and ask them for your booking reference -they'll need names and flight details to find it. The TC reference means nothing to them or their systems.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

There is the Secret Garden at Mirage too. We saw some young lion cubs there. They were gorgeous!
Yes I meant Freemont Street, stupid phones predictive text!
Secret Garden is added to my list, thanks0 -

hi,
Just thought i'd put this out as a warning to anyone staying (or playing) at the Imperial Palace.
Ive just had a week there, and played poker mainly, but on 2 occasions i had a spin on the roulette. On each occasion i got $100 in chips and stuck 5 stacks of $20 across 2 numbers. First time, one of my numbers come in so thats $20 at 17/1, and the croupier pushes $240 towards me. I question it straight away, saying it surely should be $340, and he apologises and i get the extra $100.
The 2nd time, different day, different roulette table, different croupier, same again i get lucky and one of my numbers comes in, and AGAIN the croupier starts to count out my winnings, and pushes $240 towards me. I ask him to try again, he says "its $240" and even shows me a card with the odds as 17/1 and saying "$20 on, 17/1, thats $240"!
I correct him, and he apologises and gives me the extra $100.
Now i know anyone can make a mistake, but 2 out of 2 for so called professional croupiers who probably know each denomination of bet off by heart is a bit too much of a coincidence for me.
Like i say, just thought id put this out as a warning for anyone going here.0 -

Sorry, I don't know what time Delta starts accepting check ins for a domestic flight - I just know that Virgin check-in opens at 11 for the 4:30 return flight...anytime we've done a domestic flight with a connection it's been in the morning. I've also never short-term parked at T1 (where you would be flying from)...for T2, it's brilliant, right across the road from the terminal building - usually in and out in 10 mins...for T1, it may be a significantly different story and much more hassle, but still possible. Someone here may know, or you may have to call them and ask.
I have never used it before, but there is a remote baggage check service at some Vegas hotels (not all airlines are signed up though)...I think there's a location at MGM which would be convenient for you and if you were comfortable with using the service it would probably be worth paying a bit extra to avoid the faffing around at McCarran T1...from what I understand, you effectively check in for your flight with them, they take your bags, you pay them a fee (I think I've read $10/bag)...but I don't know much more than that about it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Sorry, I thought you meant that you had your Virgin reference which it was suggested you would need. I've never booked via TC before so don't know I'm afraid...
Looking at the FAQ -
Q Why can't I see the seat map button?
A Seat maps are only available to customers who have purchased their tickets directly from Virgin Atlantic Airways or Virgin Holidays.
Never having tried it booking via TC, I don't know if there is a way around this or not.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Sorry but this is why I edited my post (Tried the 6 digit code TC gave me and that won't work either) I added an extra sentence, didn't change airline details
But thanks.December 2011 Sesky Watch, strimmer, tv, hoover & steam cleaner. March 2012 Straw dogs blueray film.0
