Just thought I'd share our plans of things to do with our kids. Might give others some ideas.....

    Bellagio fountains
    Fire show in Caesars
    FAO Schwartz
    Circus Circus rides
    Excalibur dragon show
    Shark reef Mandalay Bay
    Lions at MGM
    Gameworks
    M&M world
    Coca Cola shop
    Volcano and aquarium at Mirage
    NY NY rollercoaster
    Madame Tussauds and gondolas
    Stratosphere ride
    Masquerade show at Rio
    Greening Street experience
    Neon museum

FAO Schwartz is gone, so is the Excalibur dragon show. I'm assuming you mean Fremont Street Experience for the other.

There is the Secret Garden at Mirage too. We saw some young lion cubs there. They were gorgeous!

I think ferf i right - its light aircraft only to the GC SR. Ours went from Boulder City Airport and a bus picked us up at the hotel. Scenic Airlines it was.

Was it good & would you recommend it? Did you get to land in the canyon or walk around?

I can find no other alternative to Scenic to get a heli flight to the south rim?! Shall I just go for the west?

WRT Bills - just back after staying for a week at Bills, absolutely perfect location, on the strip in less than 2 minutes. The hotel is a wee bit tired but the rooms and beds were great. The room we were given also overlooked the Bellagio fountains which was a bonus. For location, price and drink prices it's hard to beat.

3-4-3, with a few 2-4-2 rows at the back. I think you can book seats as soon as you have the VS booking code eg XDFT1H whch is issued on booking, (ask TC for it) but Virgin now charge you for the priviledge.

    What the what?

    Really?

That sucks if that's the case...we didn't have to pay to book our seats, but we booked quite some time ago.

booked my flights via Opodo, got the ref straight away, logged into VA, picked the 2 seats at the back of the plane..........
And from there, i just assume that as long as i check in 23hrs & 59mins before, i should get those seats ?? without paying ?!

Maybe...we've been reassigned seats from the pairs at the back before - long before the date of the flight...there was a time that some aircraft had extra legroom in those seats and they were available for purchase...not sure if that's why we got kicked out of them when we lost them or not...if memory serves it happened twice - once we got them back at online check in and once we paid for them (return leg only). I'm not sure if they still sell those seats when they have extra legroom or not - we thought they were well worth it either way (free without extra legroom or £30 with )

I always obsessively checked our seats on Virgin's website when we had the pairs. If possible be sure to check in online for the return leg ASAP too...I think it was penny that said that if you don't check in online at least 13 hours (I think it was 13 hours) the seating allocations are released or something like that.

Also, while I am thinking about it - parking at T2 at LAS is no longer free for the first 15 mins. :( We can't remember how much it was now, but $2 for 30 mins seems to ring a bell or two.

As for Donny, he was cuuuuuute. I am sorry, I did not mention that...and very nice too...but Marie was my favorite... I think I want to be like Marie when I grow up - even though she's only 10 years older than me, she still seems more like a proper grown-up than me. :) Oh, and yes, I think that Jamie did enjoy the show...though like me, it's a bit of a blur given the circumstances.

Coming to you from the Holiday Inn at Heathrow...managed to get 2 seats together and did the online check-in, so happy about that. It opens, for BA, 24 hours before the flight, for those who need that tip, saved us 60 squid each right there as
that's how much it costs if you do it before the 24 hour limit.
Right, off for a mooch, catch you all later.

    OK, I had to check...

    Q Can I pre-allocate my seat?

A Seating is a service we offer free of charge. Seats can be pre-allocated after you have booked your flight, by logging into 'My Booking' online, or via your travel agent. We offer this service up to 24 hours before your flight departs. Please use our 'Online Check In' facility, within 24 hours before your flight departs, to reserve your chosen seat. Where you have pre-assigned a seat online, check in needs to be completed no later than 2 hours before departure time to enable us to honour this request. The exception are flights out of London Heathrow, when check in must be completed 13 hours prior to departure to retain pre-assigned seats.

Looks like that's the 13 hour thing penny mentioned too - I hadn't realised it was just out of LHR...good to know.

The flight was about an hour, which is why helis dont fly there from Vegas. Was about a 15 seater. Flew over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Coach with tour guide picked us up at the Grand Canyon airport, gave us a packed lunch. Drove to three vantage points in the national park for photos, went to one of the lodges, had souvenir shopping opportunity, slept thru the IMAX type movie, and flew back.

    Defo recommend.
