SeptemberHi people!
Me and the missus are planning an epic road trip in September!
San Francisco - Monterey - Yosemite - Vegas
Over 15 nights, flying to San Francisco and hiring a Mustang then driving to Vegas! Flying back home from Vegas.
We have found flights with US Airways to San Francisco via Philadelphia and back home from Vegas again Via Philadelphia for £550pp. Have also found flights which are £680 with British Airways change in Heathrow from Manchester and home with Iberia via Philadelphia.
The BA flight is 2hours and a bit shorter, but Im not sure if it is worth paying the extra money? Is it worth paying the extra cash for the shorter BA flight? How do US airways compare?
Thanks0 -
Hi
Is this Sep 2012???

Hi, we did the same trip in the same car last summer (message me if you want any advice/tip's so I don't bore everyone on here with it all again!) Needless to say...GREAT trip.
We flew with BA last year form Manc (changing in Heathrow) to San Fran and then back from Vegas. No real hassle or highlights, just a 'meh' kind of flight but did the trick.
One thing to say is you will be exhausted on this trip, so for us getting direct flights was just less hassle.:):staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
November / DecemberHere too...I'm already working on the expectation management side of things...'they're new, they will no doubt be impossible to get on - remember when the Star Wars slot first came out?' and the like. His reply was something along the lines of 'I'll be jetlagged, I bet they won't be that busy at 4 am'.
The Cosmo will be the best place to get on them as there is a bank of 6. If you head into the casino from the front they are on the left after the entrance to the club.0 -
MarchNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!... NOW SOLD OUT
So annoyed, I saw the Groupon email earlier when I was having lunch at work...planned to buy one tonight.
My hubby has noted that it's only $15 and we'll just go anyway if we want...but I reminded him how nice it is to have a pre-paid voucher of any kind as if you are having a bad gambling day, hey, "free" food.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Most rental car agencies will not guarantee a specific make and model of car...I only mention this in case not having a Mustang will be a dire thing for you...I would manage your expectations.
There's a thread here about someone who was bitterly disappointed after being promised a Mustang by the UK 3rd party...the T&Cs will likely allow the car hire company to offer a different car in the same class, or an upgrade instead.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We got Carhire 3000 to add a note to our booking that we wanted a Mustang when we collected our hire car at SFO earlier this year.
Unfortunately, it had no effect. They said the Mustang was in a higher group and wanted an extra $40 a day to hire it. I refused and we ended up with a Sebring. In hindsight, it was an awful mistake because it ruined the drive down the Pacific Coast Highway to LA. The handling was dire.0 -
