Has anyone ever got student discount on cirque tickets? Was just looking on mgm's website at Ka and it says students get 35% off, but doesn't say how to get it, or what they'll accept as student ID!

I have a proper NUS + ISIC student card this year, but OH only has the NUS part.

Will obviously keep looking for better offers, but 35% off seems quite good if we can get it :T
I tried last year but knocked back by the good old American phrase ......blackout dates may apply. So couldnt use it over Xmas, and prob not at other peak times.

Here too...I'm already working on the expectation management side of things...'they're new, they will no doubt be impossible to get on - remember when the Star Wars slot first came out?' and the like. His reply was something along the lines of 'I'll be jetlagged, I bet they won't be that busy at 4 am'.

So long as they aren't the hoovers that Lord of the Rings is...we were soooo excited about those last trip and found them to be simply awful...pretty much anyone who played them felt the same.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I have to be honest and say that these slots aren't my cup of tea, I prefer video poker or Triple Lucky slots. DH on the other hand adores anything like this, a favourite of his as well as Star Wars are those fishing ones that were in Wynn that we found last time (was 2008). I had a go on the Wizard of Oz slots once and almost dropped the jackpot - 5 progressive came up but the second line on was above all the rest IYSWIM
Best thing about Star Wars slots is that DH can put in $20 and he's happy for ages because he only plays 3 lines at a time, so he's never hard to find or we don't lose each other if I wander off and have a look around the casino. :rotfl:

I actually had to google that!!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Still not booked any hotels for our trip at the end of May yet.......have just been looking at the orleans. Can stop there for the first 4 nights (Mon-Thurs) for less than £200 including the resort fee accounted for. Seems great to me and those days we would have the car and be able to do trips out......is this a good price and would anyone recommend this place?
  • You could get a Go Deluxe room at the flamingo for $268 (inc tax) mon-thur at the end of may. Its actually a bit more expensive than what we've got the same room for for 5 nights at the end of june but is still less than £200

The Orleans is a decent hotel and casino, their rates always seem to be competitive. The buffet represents good value and TGI's is open 24hrs, imho the chinese/ oriental restaurant is in my top 3 in Vegas, the other 2 are in it's sister property the Gold Coast.

I have friends who stay there regularly as it also has a decent poker room.

It's not a bad price but you can do better-see the end of this post :)

I really really like the Orleans and have stayed there several times. It's my off Strip hotel of choice -I can usually get comp rooms at Rio but would choose it over Rio for example.

Rooms are huge with a seperate sitting area but not exactly cutting edge in style but comfortable.
Casino is nice-prefer it to some of the Strip casinos and the Showroom and cinema are good too.

Lots and lots of good eating places at far more reasonable prices than on-Strip -breakfast is a particular bargain at the buffet.

Pool is nice and the shuttle to the hotel is very timely and runs every 20 minutes from 10am til just gone midnight. Cab after midnight wasn't a lot -less than $10. It's ten minutes to the Strip and drops you by Bills -next door to the Flamingo. I've never had problems getting on it -even at busy times.

Orleans has a nice pricing policy-always book direct with them as if after you've booked you find it cheaper in dollars on any other website (expedia us, travelworm, etc) they will reprice your booking if you ring them and they can see it on the web.

However I see the end of May cheaper than £200 23-27 May $176.82 £116 with tax
or 30 May to 03 June (not sure what you mean by "end of May") is $164.32 £109 including tax but not resort fee (which from memory is only about $5 a night) both rates were found using www.kayak.com and are with hotels.com (US not UK site)

Oh as a base for days out it is really good as the parking is right outside -no treking miles to get to the parking lots like some of the Strip hotels

All great responses.....as always thanks for the advice. I quite fancy this place and then will go for somewhere more central and extravagant for the other 3 nights.

Forgot to look at the pool area as thats quite important to me.....Will do that now. The dates are 23-27th so will defo check that site out for prices. Thanks again :-)
